Lucian's POV
The calm before the storm.
That was what the night felt like, soft, slow, too beautiful to trust.
But for now… she was in my arms.
And that was enough.
Selene's fingers rested over my chest, her breath warm against my skin as she stirred faintly in her sleep. I brushed a kiss across her hair, inhaling her scent, moonflower and spice, and i told myself I'd hold onto this moment for as long as time would allow. Because tonight, the Goddess herself has bear witness to our union.

Three days had passed in a blur of laughter, candlelight and endless preparations. Now, the world had stilled again. Only the soft rustle of the wind through the silk drapes reminded me that life moved on, no matter how much my heart wanted to freeze this hour forever.
I rose carefully so I wouldn't wake her and looked out the window. The moon hung low, silver and watchful, veiled by wisps of cloud. It felt alive, as though it, too, waited for the ceremony to begin.
