Chapter 230 - Chapter 230 Family and Honor

Catelyn struggled with all her might but couldn't break free from Lysa's thick, chubby hand; her sister weighed more than three of her combined.

"Do you know how deep the love between us is? Do you know how many hardships and torments we've been through? We even had a child together, a sweet, sweet baby! They stole my baby back then, and I swore to the gods I'd never let that happen again! I will never let you steal my Littlefinger again!"

Lysa Tully shrieked, "Do you hear me clearly, Catelyn? Listen well, and remember!"

Catelyn Tully roared in anger, "Nobody! Nobody is trying to take your baby! Let go of me!"

"Who would believe the words of a loose woman?! Come with me! I'll show you something good!"

With that, Lysa yanked Catelyn's arm, and the broad, plump sister dragged the slender sister along.

Catelyn struggled fiercely, but Lysa was like a moving mountain, and she could only follow by force.

...

On the marble wall in the center of the hall, a narrow weirwood door was set between two slender pillars, with a crescent moon carved from white wood on the door.

This was the Moon Gate of Eyrie?!

Why did Lysa drag her here? What did she want to do?!

The Moon Gate was tightly shut, secured by heavy bronze bolts, and Catelyn could hear the harsh sound of the wind whistling through the gaps.

Lysa's one hand tightly gripped Catelyn's arm, while the other pulled out the bronze bolt and threw it onto the marble floor.

Bang!

The heavy weirwood door was blown open by the wind, slamming against the wall, and a continuous stream of icy wind, mixed with frost, poured into the hall.

Catelyn's body couldn't help but tremble; she instinctively wanted to step back, but Lysa instead clasped her wrists, locking them behind her back, and forcefully pushed her towards the edge of the door.

Outside the door, there was nothing but blue sky and void.

Lysa's fingers gripped Catelyn's arm like claws, and as she pushed forward, she shrieked, "Look down! Look down!"

"Lysa, I'm your sister!" Catelyn struggled fiercely again.

In her struggle, Catelyn's hair tie suddenly broke, and her hair instantly fanned out in the strong wind, like a blooming red flower.

The broken hair tie floated in the wind for a moment and then vanished; ahead, there was nothing but air, and Catelyn knew that six hundred feet below, built into the mountain, was Long Sky Castle.

Catelyn's pupils widened; her own sister was trying to kill her?!

Catelyn tried her best to stand firm, attempting to push inwards, but Lysa gave no ground.

She shrieked, "Don't you want to leave, huh?"

"I'm your sister!"

Catelyn tried to grab the doorframe, but couldn't reach it… Instead, her feet began to slip on the slick marble floor, and Lysa continued to push her forward relentlessly.

Fear enveloped Catelyn's entire body; she twisted hysterically to the side, and one foot inadvertently stepped into thin air, causing her to scream in terror.

The strong wind whipped up Catelyn's dress, as if tearing at her bare thighs with icy teeth; she grabbed Lysa's thick, reddish-brown braid and pulled hard.

Lysa immediately shrieked, "My hair! Let go of my hair!"

At the edge of the cliff, the two Tully sisters clung to each other, hands tightly grasping each other's hair, pulling desperately.

...

Hurried footsteps echoed in the empty hall, and Petyr's figure appeared outside the Moon Gate.

He shouted, "Lysa! What are you doing?!"

His eyes shifted slightly, he glanced at Catelyn, then lowered his voice slightly and continued, "My Lysa, it's dangerous there, come back quickly!"

Hearing Littlefinger's voice, Lysa's grip loosened, and Catelyn quickly broke free, then collapsed to the ground, exhausted.

Petyr moved his feet and said, "Lysa, what happened?"

Hearing Petyr's question, the panting Lysa immediately sobbed. Petyr thought, "Not good," and immediately stopped.

Lysa grabbed Catelyn's hair, then yanked it, saying, "It's her! She kissed you! It's all her fault!"

Catelyn cried out in pain and angrily said, "Lysa, you almost pushed me off! This is kinslaying, and I will never forgive you!"

"Shut up! You loose woman!"

Lysa shrieked, "When I'm talking to him, you have no right to interrupt!"

Petyr raised his hand in a calming gesture, saying, "Lysa, she's your sister, how could you do such a thing?"

"Littlefinger, she deceived you!"

Lysa accused, "She's a hypocritical harlot! I listened to you and took in this wretched woman who lost her husband, but instead of being grateful, she tried to seduce you! She can't kiss you, she shouldn't kiss you! I'm going to teach her a lesson… Yes, I'm teaching her a lesson!"

Listening to Lysa's "accusation," Catelyn's eyes trembled.

Keeping her here… wasn't that Lysa's own idea?!

Lysa's grip was still very strong, and her pained expression hid her shock at this moment.

...

"I understand!" Petyr nodded slightly.

He added, "I think your sister has been sufficiently taught a lesson."

"I don't want her here!"

Tears glistened in Lysa's eyes: "I listened to you, and to make her feel at ease here, I even found a good excuse, but she repays me like this! She doesn't belong here, this place doesn't welcome harlots like her!"

Petyr nodded: "We'll send her away now, alright?"

He took a step forward and continued, "We'll make her leave immediately… but first, help her up, it's too dangerous over there…"

Lysa suddenly shrieked, "No!"

She twisted Catelyn's head again, and the cold wind swirled around them, their dresses flapping violently.

"You can't have her! You can't do this! She's just a hypocritical harlot, she can't possibly love you as much as I do! I've always loved you, and I've proven it many times, haven't I?!"

Strings of hot tears rolled down Lysa's plump, red cheeks: "I not only gave you my virginity, but I was going to give you a son! It was them! Not me! They aborted it with moon tea! I didn't even know about it! Whatever Father gave me to drink, I drank, I didn't even know about it!"

"It's all in the past, my Lysa."

Petyr took another step and said, "Have you been drinking again? Don't think nonsense…"

Lysa seemed not to hear Petyr's words, saying, "This harlot has given you nothing! It was I who gave you your first time! It was I who asked Jon to bring you into the Red Keep, so we could see each other all the time… You swore to the gods you wouldn't forget my affection!"

Petyr's eyes flickered: "My Lysa, I haven't forgotten. Aren't we together now? Just as you wished, never to be separated again. Come, let go of Lady Catelyn's hair…"

"I won't!"

Lysa gripped Catelyn's hair tightly, shrieking, "I saw you kiss her in the garden! Catelyn did kiss you in the Godswood, but she has no affection, she doesn't want you! Why can't you ever forget her? You should love me! It should be me! Me! Me! Me! Me!"

"I understand, I understand, I love you."

Petyr took another step, saying, "Am I not standing before you? Come now, come to me, come…"

He spread his arms: "Wipe away your tears, be happy, my Lysa."

"Tears… tears… tears…"

Lysa wailed hysterically, "Wipe away your tears… But in King's Landing, you didn't say that. You told me to put 'teardrops' into the wine Jon drank, and I obediently did it, fully believing it was for Little Robert (Chapter 108), for our future! I wrote a letter to Catelyn, falsely claiming that Lannister had murdered my husband; whatever you said, I did! That was a clever plan… You're always so clever, I told Father, I told him Petyr is a clever lad, he'll make something of himself someday, he will… he will! He's so lovely, so gentle, and I'm carrying his child… Why did you kiss her? Why, exactly? After so many years of torment, suffering, struggle, and longing, we finally got together, why would you still kiss her?! Her? Her? Her? Her?"

"My Lysa…"

Petyr sighed deeply, saying, "Since you know we've endured so much, why won't you trust me? I swear, as long as we live, I will stay by your side, we will be inseparable, we will have a wonderful wedding, we will be a happy couple."

"Really?!"

Lysa cried and asked again, "Petyr, is it true?"

Petyr spread his arms again, saying, "Of course it's true. Come now, come and give me a passionate kiss, my Lysa."

As Petyr's words fell, Lysa immediately released Catelyn's hair. She rushed forward and crashed into Littlefinger's embrace, sobbing bitterly.

While Lysa and Petyr embraced, Catelyn scrambled away from the Moon Gate on all fours, hugging the nearby pillar tightly.

Thinking that life and death had been on a knife's edge, Catelyn's heart pounded uncontrollably, and she involuntarily trembled, hugging the pillar even tighter.

Petyr let Lysa cry on his chest for a long time, his grey-green eyes shifted, and he glanced at the disheveled Catelyn, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

Petyr slowly curved his lips, reached out and took Lysa's hand, gently kissed her cheek, and said, "My lovely and innocent girl…"

He smiled and continued, "Don't you understand that I have only loved one woman in my life?"

Hearing Petyr's confession, Lysa broke into a smile through her tears, saying, "Only one? Oh… Petyr, will you swear?"

Petyr's lips curved upwards: "Only Catelyn."

With that, he suddenly pushed forward forcefully, and Lysa stumbled backward, her shoes slipping on the smooth marble floor… Suddenly, her entire body vanished.

There, only the cold wind howled endlessly.

...

"No!!!"

Catelyn screamed in pain, scrambling on all fours towards where her sister had disappeared.

Petyr quickly stopped the crawling Catelyn; he pulled her tightly into his arms, holding her close.

The previous struggle had exhausted Catelyn's last bit of strength; she struggled weakly, her voice choked with tears, "Please… save her… I beg you…"

Petyr held Catelyn and retreated from the Moon Gate. He held her even tighter, staring expressionlessly at the void outside the Moon Gate.

He gently comforted her, "It's alright… It's alright… It's alright…"

Catelyn's body continued to tremble uncontrollably, Petyr's brows furrowed slightly, and his face was full of pity.

He gently patted Catelyn's back, softly saying, "It's alright… It's alright… It's alright…"

At this moment, Petyr was unaware that Catelyn's hand was tightly gripping a dagger (the source of the dagger was mentioned in the previous chapter).

Catelyn's trembling suddenly stopped, and the dagger in Catelyn's hand suddenly thrust towards Petyr's abdomen, catching him off guard.

Petyr let out a muffled grunt, however… the dagger did not pierce deeply as Catelyn had expected; it was blocked by something unknown.

With that block, her hand, due to inertia, slid across the blade of the dagger, and her fingertips immediately became bloody.

Clang, clang, the dagger fell onto the marble floor.

Petyr looked down at his abdomen, then quickly grabbed Catelyn's wrist, which was already blood-red.

After observing for a moment, Petyr sighed in relief, saying, "Good, the wound isn't deep."

He looked at Catelyn, who was glaring at him, and with a slight curl of his lips, said, "Does the Tully beauty also have the teeth of a Direwolf?"

He first touched his still-sore abdomen, then touched his upper chest, and said, "One night last year, a visitor cut me here (Chapter 39), and I realized how fragile our bodies are against a sharp blade…"

He loosened his collar a bit: "The next day, I arranged for someone to buy the best chainmail. I never thought this thing would actually save my life."

Petyr smiled bitterly, his voice tinged with sadness: "Catelyn, Lysa would have killed you sooner or later. I did it to save you; I had no other choice."

Catelyn's blue eyes were filled with the fire of hatred: "Petyr Baelish, you are the true murderer!"

She added, "It was you! It was you who killed Jon Arryn!"

Petyr shook his head, saying, "Catelyn, Lysa poisoned the Duke of Eyrie with her own hands; this is known throughout the Seven Kingdoms."

He smiled slightly and continued, "This is the truth Duke Eddard personally investigated."

Petyr's eyes trembled… Why was the Direwolf still alive (Chapter 224)?! If he had died, the entire North would be a pawn in his hand… Damn Direwolf!

Catelyn's voice was hoarse as she yelled, "Petyr Baelish, you are a demon! The gods will never forgive you!"

Petyr sighed with a sad expression, saying, "Catelyn, don't grieve for Lysa anymore… Although it's cruel to say, a suicidal Lysa is the best Lysa; only this can restore the lost honor of Tully."

He added, "As her foster father, I will raise Lysa's only child well. My lady, you wouldn't want your poor nephew… to have an accident, would you?"

...

...

Near Rose Avenue.

Greene Kleber pulled the reins and stopped his horse. He raised an eyebrow and said, "You mean… Randyll Tarly is dead?!"
