Chapter 5 - The World of Nobility (2)

On this continent of Helderria, there were some creatures that could threaten the survival of all the intelligent races in this world.

Among them, of course, there were no demons in it, because the existence of demons had not been known at all by the people in this world.

The list of creatures that could pose a threat on a daily basis included beasts, monsters, and supernatural creatures.

For beasts, they were classified as the least dangerous creatures among the three lists. They lived in their own habitats, such as forests, mountains, and others.

There were even some beasts that humans could make friends with, especially the owners of the beast tamer subclass.

Then there were creatures commonly called monsters. They were fantasy creatures such as goblins, orcs, ogres, and so on. Most of them were in dungeons, so if you didn't enter their territory, they wouldn't be a threat.

The creatures that threatened human existence the most were supernatural creatures...

Supernatural creatures were invisible creatures.

To ordinary or non-awakened humans, their existence was unreal.

Only class owners or those who had successfully undergone the class awakening ceremony could see the existence of supernatural creatures.

Their forms could vary.

Most of them resembled violent versions of beasts.

'I remember the demons who can speak referring to them as demonic beasts.'

Unlike beasts that could befriend humans, or monsters that rarely attacked humans unless humans deliberately entered a dungeon, supernatural creatures tended to invade human territory for an indefinite period of time.

The reason why I'm telling you all this information is so that you can understand the fact that all cities or towns are built inside a large circular wall.

Although supernatural creatures were invisible to the eyes of ordinary people, they could still cause physical damage to objects or people.

If a residential area was not surrounded by a large wall, supernatural creatures might invade from outside the city and feast on human flesh.

Ironhaven City was inseparable from the concept of a city with a large wall surrounding it. Moreover, Ironhaven City was located in the border area. City defense was certainly the main focus of the city layout design.

In the city center of Ironhaven City, a place that could be called the safest, there was the main zone of the city, where the castle of the Marquess Ralstone family was located.

With my hair, clothes, and body already soaked to the point that the thin linen shirt I was wearing was unable to hide the abs-less belly skin I had, I walked through the neighborhood district where the second homes of the nobles were located.

I headed straight into the castle where the Ralstone family was located.

Probably because the guards guarding the watchtower were used to seeing me returning home alone in a drunken state, so they immediately opened the main gate of the castle.

The Ralstone family's main castle had many buildings within its grounds. There was the central mansion where the family resided, as well as surrounding buildings for the maids, servants, and soldiers to rest.

In front of one of the buildings around the main building, I saw that there were many soldiers standing around one of the buildings.

I knew that building.

It was the building where I woke up surrounded by half-naked maids earlier.

'If I had run away too late, I would have been caught by them.' Luckily, I had escaped through the window and slipped away from the castle until I walked up to the commercial district just outside the main area of the castle.

My being in the bedroom with the half-naked maids was a trap set by this body's older brother, whose name was Patrick Ralstone.

I lifted my head up to gaze at the upper floor of the castle's main building.

There was a young man standing behind an open window. That person's appearance was in stark contrast to my pitiful appearance.

The man was wearing a fur cloak around his neck, but the cloak was not too thick because Ironhaven is a tropical region that tends to be hot, even though it was raining.

He was Patrick Ralstone, this body's older brother.

'It seems that he is monitoring the course of the plan he made.'

As our eyes met, Patrick immediately frowned and closed the window.

[Recalled Memory - Activated.]

The memory of what happened in the past started to spin in my brain.

Just imagine a big screen showing a scene that happened in the past.

Through his subordinates, Patrick had previously framed me to make it look like I was forcing the maids to get drunk, even though the maids themselves were willing to get drunk and tear their own maids' clothes after receiving payment from Patrick.

Maybe it was a threat? Or was it money? There was no clarity in the memories I received. What was clear was that they managed to trap me in my previous life.

I remember the foolishness I used to do.

Back then, I hadn't realized that my soul had entered this world. I still thought that everything in front of me was a dream, including the half-naked maids.

I used to just lie there, confused like a fool, until the time to escape passed.

Moreover, I was caught red-handed while trying to help the maids tidy up their clothes, and BOOM! Patrick's men barged in.

Not just alone, Patrick's men entered along with several other soldiers as if it was intentional for them all to witness the depraved deeds that I had never done.

The result of the raid event got me expelled from the castle. My membership in the Ralstone family was also summarily terminated.

"As if falling into the pleasure of alcohol wasn't enough, you even dared to lay your hands on the maids who have been working in this castle for years?! From now on, you are no longer a member of the Ralstone family. Get out of here!"

Those were the clichéd words of Marquess Ralstone when he sent me away.

Bzztt!

As if the memory scene of my future—my past—had reached its end, suddenly the images of my memories disappeared into pieces.

I refocused my mind to look at the reality before me.

Fwuushh!

What awaited me when I had just finished restoring my consciousness from exploring past memories was the arrival of a fist.

Luckily, I regained consciousness in time.

I managed to catch the wrist of the person who tried to punch me.

Her small wrist and soft skin indicated that she was a woman.

"Is that you?" The person who greeted me with a fist gave me a question that was similar to an interrogation tone.

"Are you the one who got those maids drunk?" As if impatient that I was silent, she asked me the question more clearly.

Short dark brown hair is the most prominent feature of her, but what stands out even more about her is her tomboyish nature.

Her name was Luna Ralstone, and she was this body's sister.
