Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – The Orcs’ Hunt

The afternoon sun hung low over a small village on the outskirts of the ruins. Smoke drifted from burned barns and collapsed homes, the scent of ash and iron thick in the warm air. Villagers fled in panic, clutching children and whatever meager belongings they could carry. From the dense forest edging the village, dark shapes moved with unnerving coordination. Orcs. Their jagged teeth gleamed beneath battle-worn armor, bodies moving with deliberate purpose. War wolves padded behind, noses twitching, ready to pounce at any hint of fear. Two siblings moved in concert through the chaos. The older brother positioned himself protectively in front of his younger sister, fists clenched tight. Though still young, a faint aura hummed around him—a flicker of untamed potential."They're coming! Get inside!" a villager shouted while dragging children toward the town square, but it was too late. The orcs struck with precision. Nets flew, ropes snapped, hidden traps sprang. Villagers were corralled like livestock. Screams tore through the air as one orc barked orders, signaling others to round up families. The younger sibling shrieked as an orc lunged forward, hands wrapping around her small frame. The brother reacted instantly, swinging his fists with everything he had—but orcs anticipated him. Before he could push her to safety, a massive orc snatched the girl and slung her over its shoulder.Rage ignited within him. Energy pulsed violently from his fists, light flaring as he transcended from Tier 1 to Tier 2 Awokened—the awakening born from desperate fury and love. War wolves scattered, orcs fell like leaves caught in a storm, yet he could not reach her in time. When the assault ended, the orcs vanished into the forest with their prize, leaving chaos and devastation behind. The village lay broken, survivors fleeing in terror. In the distance, at a nearby fortified settlement, the major Awokened guilds received grim reports. Aditya Roy and other leaders listened intently, the weight of uncertainty thick in the air. Details came in piecemeal: unknown survivors, unknown dead, orcs growing bolder and smarter, coordinated raids replacing random attacks.Among the survivors were the siblings. The older brother swore silently, fists clenched tight: "I will bring you back. No one will ever harm my family again."Far away, the forests of India began to stir unnaturally. Something intelligent and cunning was taking shape—a future disaster zone filled with monsters capable of strategy and planning. The world was changing. This was only the beginning.
