Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 – Morning Light

The night had quieted.Outside, the wind brushed softly against the dorm windows, carrying the faint hum of the city far below.

Inside, the bathroom light glowed faintly under the door. Two shadows moved once, then stilled. No words — just silence, the kind that carried both comfort and confusion.

When morning came, the sun slipped through the curtains, warm and golden.Luiz blinked awake slowly, the ache in his body mixed with something softer — a peace he hadn't felt in a long time.

Beside him, Clara slept quietly, her hair spilling over the pillow, her breathing steady and calm. For a moment, he just watched her — the rise and fall of her chest, the light across her face.

He reached out, almost touching her hand… but stopped. The guilt in his chest was heavy. He didn't know what this meant — or what would happen next.

He stood, quietly dressing, careful not to wake her. Before leaving, he turned once more toward her and whispered, almost too softly for even the room to hear—"Goodbye, Clara."

Then he left, the door closing gently behind him.

Outside, the day was already moving — buses humming, students hurrying, the world unaware that somewhere between night and morning, something inside Luiz Valentine had changed forever.
