Chapter 27 - Just a Short While, and the Whole House Is in Chaos?

At this moment—

seeing Guan Nailiang dialing his phone, Liu Yueyao frowned slightly.

She did remember him a little.

After all, he had Job Changer into an S-rank Firecloud Mage, considered a genius among this year's students.

But who would've thought…

he'd end up causing such a huge scene today?

From the chatter around them, she more or less pieced things together.

This Guan Nailiang had stirred up trouble right at the entrance of Hongwu Market,

and somehow, in the middle of it, he and his gang suddenly went bald—

and then even… cough cough.

As a woman, Liu Yueyao truly couldn't even look straight at the mess.

But still… Something was strange.

What on earth happened to these four?

Not only did they all lose their hair at the same time,

they also all… lost control at the same time.

No way could this have happened naturally.

But to say Chen Yang had done it?

She didn't believe that either!

He had only just Job Changer as a Summoner,

and hadn't even summoned anything out.

How could he possibly pull off something so bizarre?

"Chen Yang, maybe you should leave first?"

After thinking a moment, Liu Yueyao said:

"I'll handle things here with Uncle Hong. Anyway, this really has nothing to do with you."

"It's fine."

Chen Yang shook his head.

"No matter what, they came looking for trouble with me… and that's why this happened. I've no reason to run."

"I believe his father should be someone willing to talk it out!"

Those words—

made Liu Yueyao look at him in a new light.

This Chen Yang…

Was this actually responsible?

If it had been an ordinary student, they'd probably already be scrambling to escape, afraid of being targeted by the father.

But instead—

Chen Yang chose to stay and face it!

Even though, truthfully, he bore no real responsibility.

Just that kind of courage alone—

was rare.

Of course, what she didn't know was—

Chen Yang stayed only because he wanted the whole Guan family bald together.

If the father wasn't reasonable—

Well, a baldness warning first wouldn't hurt…

But unexpectedly—

Guan Nailiang's father didn't seem like the reckless type.

Soon—

Guan Junlong pulled up in a car, got out at the roadside, and from afar started scolding:

"You little brat! You're just a Job Changer today, and instead of leveling up properly, you're out here making trouble for me?"

"Hurry home right now, you're embarrassing me!"

He was a middle-aged man, with thick, jet-black hair.

Wearing a denim jacket, his face carried the sternness of genuine rebuke.

Clearly—

he already knew what had happened, and wasn't here to shout blindly.

On the way over, he had thought it through.

First—

He figured this incident probably had little to do with Chen Yang.

A freshly Job Changer Summoner, with only a Priest elf as his first summon—

how could he possibly wield such strange, curse-like abilities?

So only two explanations were left:

His son bullied the wrong person, and a bystander taught him a lesson.

Or—this Chen Yang had powerful backing.

Either way—

he, Guan Junlong, could only swallow the humiliation.

Because truth be told—curse-type abilities were unimaginably rare.

Even as a level-80+ powerhouse, he had almost never encountered them.

And once such a power appeared…

it belonged to someone far too terrifying to provoke.

In that case—

how could he protect his son, let alone demand accountability from Chen Yang?

Yes—his son had been humiliated, utterly humiliated.

But apart from that, he wasn't actually harmed.

If whoever had done this truly wanted more—

his son might've already been crippled, and he wouldn't even know who struck.

So in his eyes—

This was simply a warning, a lesson, given by some unseen big shot.

Thus—

After scolding his son, he turned to Chen Yang and the others with respectful politeness.

"Boss Hong, Miss Liu, I'm truly sorry to let you witness such a farce."

"I'll make sure to discipline my son properly in the future."

???

Chen Yang hadn't expected this at all.

He thought it would be a standoff—

that he'd need to step in and make the father bald too.

But instead… the man came and apologized straight away?

This didn't fit the script!

Then again…

Chen Yang realized this world's people weren't like brainless side characters in novels.

For Guan Junlong to reach level 80+, he needed more than talent and strength—he needed brains too.

Since that was the case…

Chen Yang felt a bit embarrassed to act.

And so—

Thanks to that apology, Guan Junlong's thick, black hair was spared!

For Chen Yang, the matter was finished.

But for Guan Nailiang—

It was unbearable.

Seeing his father arrive, not to avenge him,

but to apologize—

was enough to make him collapse inside.

But what could he do?

At least—

He wasn't the only one disgraced today.

His three little lackeys had shared in the misery.

A tiny comfort, at least…

After that, Chen Yang left smoothly.

Since the incident had happened at the mall entrance, the follow-up was handled by Hong Wuliang.

Chen Yang, meanwhile, went around town buying all sorts of rabbit dishes,

and even picked up two large boxes of genuine pure milk.

By the time he flew back home, the sky was already darkening.

He had worried—

whether the two girls at home might've gotten into a quarrel.

But when he came in through the balcony—

a wave of heat hit his face.

The living room AC was running, set to maximum heat.

On top of that… the TV was on, the electric fan was on, the kitchen exhaust fan was on—

but there was no sign of either girl.

Meanwhile—

The bathroom door was shut tight, the sound of a hair dryer humming from inside.

"Just gone for a little while… and the whole house is in chaos?"

He pushed the door open—

to find Isabella holding a plugged-in hair dryer, waving it curiously.

Sylvie was hiding cautiously behind her, also staring at the dryer, her big eyes full of wonder, her pointed ears twitching.

They were…

studying a hair dryer together?

Chen Yang was speechless.

But still—

it seemed the two girls' relationship had actually improved quite a bit?
