Chapter 3 - New Air.

I grip my knife, shaking from the pain I experience through my whole body and the horrendous fear the creeps down my neck and back.

my nerves are on fire right now… the adrenaline is leaving my body and the fear of death is choking me… right now I feel the air in my lungs leaving me as if someone stuck a tube down my throat and sucked out the oxygen I'm inhaling

The Bear charges towards me, i lift my knife first as it rushes in my direction, it lets out a roar, in exchange of tradition i let my inner primal instinct roar out too, as the bear slams it's claw onto my chest, following with a pierce into my chest as i cough out a lot of blood, its harder to breathe now, but my knife made it into it's eye…

I twist the knife with the remaining power i have and sever its eyeball from its face,

The bear cried out in pain, shaking its head to the point of bashing itself wildly around trees.

My body is still clung onto its claws so I muster up some form of power to prick its claws, my breathing is slower and my head is light…

...Why am... I ...still fighting...?

I question myself while struggling fort survival.

I prick and prick hoping to get a reaction from the bear so it actually kills me because this is actual hell I'm experiencing.

My one-eyed aggressor notices my dangling body, as it swipes me away angrily as i come out flying out of the forest as I take in the blue sky, filled with birds flying past my vision, and the sound of caws rather than chirps.

"Am I going to heaven?"

I ask myself as time feels slower… maybe that's just me or im 50 feet in the air.

I descend faster onto the hard ground as I don't have a plan to stick the landing now do I?

I didn't think of it at that specific moment, because I was occupied with escaping the forest that clearly dislikes foreigners such as I…

The winds rush down my back, my clothes flap in the air.

I close my eyes accepting my fate, not that it was gonna change after so much.

This is the least amount of rest I can endure after running for what felt like an hour straight.

I smile enjoying the how i can rest, even with my body's disheveled and bruised state

That smile fades as the back of my head collides with a rock,

My brain felt like it split it half and oozed out all my senses, memories, hormones and neurology

The sounds i had heard prior were dimmed out by a deafening BEEP sound coupled with sound of white noise.

Passing in and out as all I see is a girl that I presume to be my age, having her hands on my head.

Lifting my head and scraping back my brain matter and putting it back inside my what

Atleast… that's what I think is going on?

From an alternative view:

A girl walking in the flowery meadow, was enjoying the walk she had begun to embark on, as all she saw laid upon 5 rocks piled up, was a boy with misty blue hair bleeding out near death.

His head twitching, foaming at the mouth like he had rabies with bloodshot eyes enveloping his sclera

"Dear GOD! A kid?"

"Are you a fallen Ishvenkai? Well then my new familiar!"

"This might just be your lucky day!"

"Kan-treo!!"

The girl tore off her sleeves, as a green light grew around her body, her words echoing through the where she sat, focused on her healing. As she sat there healing the direly wounded boy for the entire day till noon, people carrying swords and pitchforks see her, teeth grit and singlehandedly healing a boy who seems to be a stranger, his wounds had been dire and only the bleeding had stopped, the cover the body as if looking at a gruesome piece of art.

Hours passed, as we are within the confines of what seems to be a traditional Dojo

The boy who had survived multiple near deaths awakens

DRIP

DRIP

Something wet and cool falls on my forehead and drips down my lip, I struggle opening my eyes. I want go back to sleep… In fact it's not even that, I feel weak, I can feel my limbs heavier now, I glance down at my body as I take notice of the bandages wrapped around my head, stomach, chest and even a slinky on my arm, I feel like a disabled child.

I guess that wouldn't be a farfetched description. My eyes dart across the room as I see what seems to be a mini army of kids training in a sort of martial art? They seem proficient.

Their skill level seems enough to take down an adult in 3 moves.

It only takes raw visual perception to see how unmatched they are in skill.

I sit up, even then my entire body vibrates in pain, causing me to make a noise of discomfort.

A girl with medium spring green hair stops her training and calls out

"Nai-!"

Reader translation: "Hey-!"

Approaching me, running her way over to me

"You shouldn't even be moving right about now."

I can't understand a word she's saying, nor do I understand who I am.

My entire brain rattles in pain. I feel an intense pain trying to translate what she's saying.

"You had a pretty nasty fall, crashing into a tombstone like how you did."

"Can you hear me?"

Another DRIP splashes onto my face as I look up at it's water from the leaking thatch roof.

I'm not surprised that this is what kept splashing onto me, but it takes my mind off the pain and kinda keeps me calm.

I close my eyes trying to remember what happened before I got here, all I get from my brain is pure static.

I don't understand why I'm bandaged up or who I am, my own thoughts tune out what the girl is trying to say to me, thank god because I don't understand a LICK of what she's trying to say.

I open my eyes once more as I see the faces of the other children peering at me like i'm some street dog.

The girl kneels before me, with a water skin in her hand, unhinging my jaw and pouring a clear liquid in my mouth.

It's sweet… cold and refreshing, my ever so throbbing pain in my body disappears, almost as if it had numbed out the pain.

The girl speaks up.

"I guess you don't speak our language huh. That's fair. I'll teach you once you get better"

She pulls down my eyelids, and gently lays me back down, her hand suddenly gets warmer and lulls my bruised body to sleep.
