Chapter 31 - I Know You're Anxious

"The life energy that leaks from the human body is called aura. The technique to consciously use aura for attack or defense is called Nen."

"Everyone has an aura in their bodies, but the amount varies from person to person."

"Being able to freely manifest one's Nen is called Nen ability, and those who can utilize it are called Nen users..."

Luke briefly conveyed the concepts of Nen to Phinks, Feitan, Nobunaga, and Machi.

Well, it was mainly these four who sincerely requested Luke.

Even Feitan, who rarely asked for anything, knew that gaining such power came at a price.

Even Nobunaga, upon learning of Luke's strange rule, readily agreed and made a sincere request.

In this regard, Nobunaga was the last to join and the oldest of the group.

That made him the one most aware of what needed to be done.

On the other hand, a certain stubborn man who kept refusing to bow his head was excluded by Luke and ended up scratching his head in frustration.

Uvogin thought he could wait until Luke revealed the secret of this power to Machi and the others, and then learn it from them.

But it was clear that Uvogin's foolish plan had been dashed.

Phinks and Feitan ignored him completely, and Uvogin wasn't shameless enough to keep pestering them.

Nobunaga was now obsessed with Luke, firmly siding with him, which infuriated Uvogin to the core.

And Machi's words…

"Do you really think, when no one else will tell you and Luke himself hasn't told you, that I would tell you?"

She simply asked calmly, and Uvogin choked.

"Besides, even if you knew, would it matter?"

Machi said lightly: "This power is simply unattainable on your own."

"You need the help of someone who already possesses it to gain it."

"In other words..."

Uvogin's mouth dropped open.

"That's right, no one here can help you except Luke."

Machi said to Uvogin seriously: "So, what you do is up to you, Uvogin."

After hearing this from Machi, Uvogin remained silent for the entire day.

Late at night, as the others began to reflect on Luke's teachings...

"I'm sorry, Luke!"

On the fourth floor of the Four-Dimensional Building Extension Blocks, Uvogin spoke loudly and earnestly to Luke.

"I beg you, please teach me this power!"

Yes, without any hesitation, any embarrassment, or hesitation.

He simply pleaded earnestly.

Uvogin was just that kind of person. Once he'd made up his mind, he would never regret it. He would follow through without hesitation and stick to it.

He wasn't like those who, even after deciding, pretended it wasn't a big deal and brushed it off with a laugh just to save face.

When it came to such an important matter, Uvogin meant what he meant, and he wouldn't let himself down.

"I get it. Keep your voice down!"

Luke's ears were aching from Uvogin's loud voice.

"Since you've come here in person, I'll definitely teach you."

"But…"

Before Uvogin could even bare his teeth, Luke spoke out: "Right now, I can't help you harness this power."

Uvogin: "...?"

"I know you're anxious, but don't be anxious yet."

Luke waved at Uvogin, whose expression was changing rapidly, and urged him to calm down.

"Your physical strength is still too weak. Once you've trained your body and grown stronger, then it won't be too late to master this power."

"The better your physical foundation, the easier it will be for you to wield it skillfully later on."

There are three ways to master Nen.

First: Innate talent.

These people are called geniuses.

The best example was the future heiress of the Nostrade family, Neon Nostrade.

She naturally awakened a specialist Nen ability, Lovely Ghostwriter, which allows her to predict the future.

Uvogin and the others are clearly not suited to this method.

The second is the most classic and formal method: Long-term training to achieve awakening.

This meant years of training, meditation, and study under a Nen user, gradually learning to sense aura and mastering it step by step.

Whether one could succeed, and how long it would take, depended entirely on individual talent.

But given Uvogin and the others' personalities... They clearly weren't suited for this method either.

That leaves only the third method: forced awakening, or initiation by attack.

By enduring another person's aura, the aura nodes on their body are forcibly opened, compelling the person to awaken Nen.

The fastest way is being struck by an attack imbued with an aura.

The key is whether one can quickly learn to keep their aura within their body.

Being attacked with Nen easily leads to a state of Ten, thereby stimulating one's own Nen.

The higher the aptitude, the shorter the time it takes to sense Nen.

However, this method is relatively crude, requiring the recipient to possess a strong constitution.

And Uvogin and the others... are still just teenagers.
