Chapter 47 - I Will Show You My Sincerity And Prove That I Am Trustworthy

Chrollo's clear eyes were full of curiosity.

Since witnessing Luke's magical abilities at the church, which shattered his understanding of the world, this curiosity had remained in Chrollo's heart.

One of the main reasons he agreed to cooperate with Luke was to solve this mystery.

"This one…"

Luke sized up Chrollo from head to toe, then a slight smile appeared on his lips: "You'll know when you grow up."

Chrollo: "… Okay."

"How long will it take before I can know?"

The ten-year-old Chrollo didn't want to give up so easily: "And understanding the principle behind it shouldn't have much to do with age, right?"

He glanced at Machi beside him: "Machi is two years younger than me, but she probably already knows, right?"

As expected of Chrollo, he grasped the gist of it with just a few simple observations and answers.

"That's right, knowing the reason has nothing to do with age."

Luke continued: "However, when you're too young and your physical abilities haven't fully developed, understanding this kind of power will only bring unnecessary worries."

"I understand, it's because our bodies aren't fully developed, so we can't access this power yet, right?"

Chrollo instantly understood: "Therefore, if we learn about it prematurely before we can access this power, it will constantly stir our emotions and disrupt our mental state. Is that what you mean?"

It's like a hungry person seeing a delicious food in front of them, but they can't reach it.

"That's right, exactly."

"Then, Luke, you can rest assured…"

Chrollo breathed a sigh of relief, a smile appearing on his face: "I'm not that fragile."

"Besides, I'm very rational."

He looked at Luke, his clear eyes becoming sincere again: "You even told Uvogin and Machi, showing your trust in their judgment."

"I think, in this regard, I shouldn't be any worse than them."

Before Luke could say anything, Chrollo smiled again: "Of course, I also know that you have a good relationship with Uvogin and Machi."

"I'm just a new collaborator."

"From any perspective, I'm not yet qualified to understand this kind of power."

"I'm already very grateful that you, Luke, are willing to tell me about this, letting me know that such a unique power exists in this world."

Chrollo reverted to his cheerful and optimistic demeanor: "In our future collaboration, I will show you my sincerity and prove that I am trustworthy."

"When we can trust each other, then I will sincerely ask you, Luke, about this power."

Chrollo spoke with conviction.

Luke looked at Chrollo deeply.

He was rational, not blinded by the novelty of this new power.

He had his own opinions, not swayed by greed or allowing it to affect his judgment.

He knew his limitations, understanding that he couldn't expect Luke's trust right away.

He was honest, directly stating that he would demonstrate his sincerity to earn Luke's trust.

Chrollo had a very clear understanding of himself and the current situation.

He knew what he should do, what he wanted to do, and what he could do.

That was already quite remarkable.

Especially considering he was only ten years old.

So, it wasn't without reason that Father Lisores chose him.

While Luke and Chrollo were talking, the others, though busy eating, were listening intently.

Luke ultimately decided not to reveal anything about Nen. He had already shared this information with Uvogin and Phinks because they had already experienced the benefits of his invention, and they were also close to him, forming a small group around him.

Sharing this information with these core members of the group was natural.

Sticking together wasn't a shameful thing.

However, now that his strength has grown and their group has solidified, if Chrollo and his group were to join later, things would be different.

Providing them with food and logistical support would help bridge the gap and foster cooperation.

Currently, Franklin, Pakunoda, and Shalnark all revolve around Chrollo, following his lead.

If he were to share the information about Nen with them now, they would still instinctively remain loyal to Chrollo.

They would only see it as Chrollo's power, not Luke's kindness.

Luke wouldn't waste his time on such a pointless gesture. Those who joined later would naturally receive different treatment than those who were with Luke from the beginning.

This only applies to the core aspects of Nen, though. If there were any differences in treatment, such as giving Uvogin and his group delicious food while giving Chrollo and his group junk food, it would only cause resentment and anger among Chrollo's group.

Therefore, there needs to be a balance.

Once Luke has established his leadership position and diminished Chrollo's influence within the group, then they can discuss Nen further.
