Chapter 6 - We look forward to your performance

"They should be looking at my file now, right?"

Once back in his rented house in the suburbs, Hazome Sosuke, who had experienced a day of fantastical events, collapsed onto the small sofa in the living room and muttered to himself.

Masamichi Yaga's straightforward probing, and Gojo Shino's enthusiastic answers to his questions, actually concealed a hidden wariness.

He wasn't an idiot; of course, he noticed.

After all, according to what Masamichi Yaga said, Gojo Satoru had only recently been born, and he had suddenly appeared.

It was a coincidence in itself.

But no one would easily believe it was an ordinary coincidence.

As for whether he truly approached them with ill intentions, Gojo Shino and the other would decide after reviewing all his information.

One was the current head of the Gojo Family, and the other was the head of instruction at Tokyo Jujutsu High; both possessed powerful intelligence networks.

They could easily obtain information on even rare Curse Spirits and Jujutsu Sorcerers.

Not to mention him, an ordinary person whose every detail had been recorded in his personal file since birth.

Ugh!

At this moment, a weary Hazome Sosuke stretched with a big yawn, his bones audibly cracking.

He reeked of sweat and Curse Spirit odor; it was time for a good wash.

So, Hazome Sosuke got up and went to the bathroom.

Though small, the bathroom was fully equipped.

Hazome Sosuke turned on the tap to fill the bathtub.

While waiting, he went to the mirror above the sink vanity and began to examine himself closely.

Hazome Sosuke looked at his reflection: short brown hair, brown eyes, large black-rimmed glasses, and a gentle, refined demeanor—if not exactly like Aizen, then at least ninety percent similar!

"Aren't I Aizen himself?!" Hazome Sosuke muttered to himself.

Just as Hazome Sosuke was touching his cheek, admiring himself by looking left and right.

A line of text, composed of the same crimson light points he had seen in the system space, suddenly flashed in the mirror.

—[We look forward to your performance!]

"Holy crap!!!"

Hazome Sosuke was instantly startled, and a national expletive involuntarily burst from his mouth.

But when he blinked, the crimson light points that had suddenly appeared in the mirror were gone, as if they had never been there.

Was he hallucinating?

Impossible.

The doubt in his mind lasted only a fleeting moment before Hazome Sosuke dismissed it.

Those crimson light points were clearly identical to those in the system space.

If it was a hallucination, then the transmigration, the task of impersonating Aizen, and all the other events that had occurred should all be fake.

But the power flowing within him now proved everything.

After a brief moment of losing his composure, Hazome Sosuke calmly pondered.

No wonder the system bound to him was the "Destined Villain Role-Playing System"; now, recalling it carefully, the crimson light points in the system space didn't look like tiny lights on an LED screen at all.

Instead, they resembled crimson pupils, each containing a hint of mockery!

It was the arrogant posture of superiors seated on a high platform, watching what kind of entertainment their trapped prey in a cage could perform at the brink of life and death for their amusement!

Hazome Sosuke braced himself against the sink, his breathing uncontrollably erratic.

He slowly raised his head, surveying the small bathroom, feeling as if unseen eyes were constantly watching him.

It was like being in The Truman Show.

After carefully analyzing his predicament, Hazome Sosuke raised his head, his previously panicked gaze becoming cold and calm.

Since the system's controllers wanted to use him for entertainment, he would fulfill their wishes, performing a show step by step that they would never forget and applaud enthusiastically!

Meanwhile, in the system space.

Every crimson light point hidden in the darkness suddenly grew mouths, revealing twisted smiles and stark white teeth, and began to converse.

"Aizen Sōusuke, it's been a long time since anyone drew this character card."

"Haha, indeed! Now this will be something to watch."

...

A week later, Tokyo Jujutsu High, located in a sparsely populated mountainous area.

At this point in the timeline, Masamichi Yaga, who had only been a teacher for two years, was already waiting at the foot of the mountain.

As a bus gradually approached, its rusty brakes screeched loudly.

The moment the bus door opened, Hazome Sosuke stepped out.

Seeing this, Masamichi Yaga immediately went to greet him, politely saying,

"Welcome to Tokyo Jujutsu High, Hazome Sosuke."

Hazome Sosuke looked around, puzzled: "They actually built a school in such a deep mountain forest."

Masamichi Yaga: "After all, it's a place for training specialists to exorcise Curse Spirits; building it in a bustling urban area would inevitably be unsuitable."

Hazome Sosuke nodded: "That makes sense."

Then he asked: "Where are the other Freshmen in my class?"

Based on his understanding from reading manga in his previous life, Tokyo Jujutsu High was different from ordinary schools with hundreds or thousands of students in each class.

After all, ordinary people who could awaken cursed energy were one in a million, and those who could successfully enter Tokyo Jujutsu High, undergo three years of study and practical training, survive, and graduate to become Jujutsu Sorcerers were even rarer.

Therefore, each class only enrolled a few students, typically around three to five.

Hearing this, Masamichi Yaga's mouth twitched slightly into a stiff smile: "This year's enrollment was a bit difficult; as of now, you are the only one who has enrolled."

???

Hazome Sosuke was stunned.

I'm the sole seedling in my major, guaranteed to become an industry authority upon graduation!

It just means that the workload originally meant for about three people now falls entirely on him alone.

Isn't this another form of 996 after transmigrating?

[Interest +1+1… Expectation +1+1…]

Listening to the untimely system prompts in his mind.

Hazome Sosuke suddenly seemed to understand why he was the only student in this class…

This darn system isn't even trying to hide it anymore!

"Where is Shino-kun? Isn't he a teacher at Gojo Tech?" Hazome Sosuke asked.

Masamichi Yaga, who was leading the way, turned back and said: "Shino is a special advisor at Gojo Tech, primarily responsible for practical teaching. He would usually be here for Freshman enrollment, but today he took on a mission to exorcise a Curse Spirit and went to Hokkaido."

Hazome Sosuke nodded in understanding.

Soon, they passed through a long corridor of ancient torii gates.

A grand academy gate stood before Hazome Sosuke.

The gate was inscribed with large characters: Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School.

"Due to the scarcity of Jujutsu Sorcerers, there are only two such schools in the entire country. Besides Tokyo Jujutsu High, there is another Jujutsu High located in Kyoto…"

Masamichi Yaga looked at Hazome Sosuke and began to introduce him to the school and some aspects of the Jujutsu World.

Then came a series of standard Freshman registration procedures.

Enrollment, class confirmation, textbook collection…

It couldn't be said that the process was exactly the same as ordinary university enrollment; it could only be said that there was no difference at all!

Bang!

Hazome Sosuke slammed the stack of textbooks, nearly half his height, onto the desk.

"Illustrated Guide to Curse Spirits"

"Basic Overview of the Jujutsu World"

"Complete Guide to Cursed Objects"

"Cursed Energy: From Beginner to Master"

"Cursed Techniques: Science and Awakening Tips"

"…"

However, before Hazome Sosuke could even sit down.

Masamichi Yaga spoke again: "As a Jujutsu Sorcerer, mastering a handy Cursed Tool is especially important. Next, we'll go to the Cursed Tool vault for you to pick one."

According to the usual procedure, he would have asked Hazome Sosuke why he entered Tokyo Jujutsu High, and then guided him to say official-sounding words full of resolve, such as to eliminate Curse Spirits and protect the world.

But times had changed; special circumstances required special treatment.

This year, they had finally recruited Hazome Sosuke as a Freshman. If he became unhappy due to these formalities and decided to drop out in a fit of pique, they would be heartbroken.

Passing through the teaching building, the two arrived at the Cursed Tool vault.

"The Gojo Tech Cursed Tool vault is structured based on the power dynamics of the Jujutsu World's Big Three Families. Most of the Cursed Tools here are public property, but Gojo Tech students can use them long-term as long as they register."

"As for the Big Three Families, they are the three most influential families in the Jujutsu World: the Kamo Family, the Zen'in Family, and the Gojo Family. Gojo Shino is the current head of the Gojo Family."

"But these things aren't important to you right now; you'll gradually learn about them later."

Saying this, Masamichi Yaga opened the door to the Cursed Tool vault.

He then stepped aside, looking at Hazome Sosuke and saying: "Go pick a Cursed Tool you like."

Hazome Sosuke bowed slightly, said thank you, and stepped inside.

Inside, a dazzling array of Cursed Tools lay before him.

Axes, halberds, hooks, forks, swords, spears, staffs—everything was there.

However, most of the Cursed Tools displayed here were low-grade, with very few Grade 1 Cursed Tools.

Not to mention the incredibly expensive Special Grade Cursed Tools.

However, even a Special Grade Cursed Tool wouldn't catch Hazome Sosuke's eye now.

After all, his system inventory contained a Kyōka Suigetsu.

So, he casually picked a katana that was similar in appearance.

This would make it easy to switch seamlessly later.

"Just this one? This is only a Grade 4 Cursed Tool; its quality is very ordinary. I suggest you choose this one, [Duan Shui], which is a Grade 2 Cursed Tool. Its quality and power are much higher." Masamichi Yaga looked at Hazome Sosuke, pointing to a longsword nearby.

"This is it."

Hazome Sosuke shook his head indifferently, firm in his choice.
