Under Herman's expectant gaze,
[World Permission Access Complete!]
[Weekly Identity Acquired!]
The pupil in his mind—the All-Seeing Eye—flashed with a swirl of multicolored halos before finally settling.
A familiar golden light shimmered in its depths.
"Another gold-tier identity!" Herman's heart leapt. The [Hidden Superpowered Being] identity had already given him enough strength to survive in Marvel's early stages. To think his next draw would also land on a gold-tier identity!
What kind of special ability would this one bring?
[Gold-tier Identity—Raven Emissary!]
[Note—Once activated, this identity is permanent!]
[Beyond being a down-on-his-luck director with superpowers, you are also a wilderness survival enthusiast. Your passion once led you deep into a primeval forest.]
[There, you discovered awe-inspiring prehistoric ruins. Within, you studied murals that revealed the ancient truth of this world.]
[In ages past, gods truly walked the earth. Across mountains and rivers slumbered unimaginable, mysterious powers. Ancient tribes could even draw upon totems to perform miracles.]
[As you studied the murals, you gradually ventured deeper into the ruins. By chance, you awakened the dormant power of a totem.]
[You became the new master of that totem—the power of the raven now resides within you, guiding you toward the path of godhood.]
[Identity Exclusive Mission: Awaken Divinity!]
[Mission Reward: A thousand square kilometers of alternate dimension!]
The introduction etched itself into Herman's mind as new power coursed through his body. A strange, intricate raven tattoo appeared on his shoulder.
He felt a peculiar awareness, as if an actual raven perched there, waiting to be summoned at his call.
"An ancient tribal totem?"
With the All-Seeing Eye, Herman quickly grasped the raven's unique ability: it could teleport any person or object to any place he had previously visited.
It could also teleport Herman himself. The function was strikingly similar to teleportation spells in online games, which let you travel instantly to unlocked locations on the map.
A highly practical ability.
But the benefits of the [Raven Emissary] identity went beyond teleportation.
It also granted him a growth path.
Totems were like "children" birthed by planets, and those recognized by them gained the right to ascend into godhood.
Not rule-based cosmic deities like the Five Great Gods, but extraordinary beings akin to the Asgardians.
Even so—
It was still an astonishing identity. The Asgardians were renowned across the cosmos, their lifespans stretching unimaginably long.
A gold-tier identity.
Already incredibly powerful.
And from this draw, Herman could also infer something else: his earlier [Hidden Superpowered Being] identity was far from ordinary. The powers within him still held vast, untapped potential waiting to be unearthed.
The Identity Exclusive Mission was to awaken divinity.
Herman could feel the power of the Raven Totem. After binding itself to his body and soul, it fused with his spirit, giving rise to a new force.
But that force had yet to awaken. It lay dormant, most likely the divinity that belonged to the gods.
Just as Loki was born with trickery and illusion, and Thor with the power of thunder, divinity was the very essence of a god's life force.
"I wonder what the essence of my power will be."
Herman couldn't help but feel a spark of anticipation for the dormant force within his soul.
But…
Right now, he had no idea how to awaken this divinity. The after-sales service of the All-Seeing Eye was downright terrible.
This Identity Exclusive Mission reward had him practically drooling—a private alternate dimension a full square kilometer in size.
Forget turning it into a realm like Dormammu's; even just as storage space, it was more than enough.
The only problem was figuring out how to awaken divinity… Herman tried shouting at his reflection in the mirror, but his forced anger came off laughably weak.
"Maybe I really do need to run into some danger."
He didn't rush into figuring out how to awaken his divinity. For now, he had a simpler task—finding a filming location for The Boys.
As he had planned before, he was going to drive to Los Angeles to scout for locations. But since he'd already gone yesterday, there was no need to waste time on the trip again.
"Whssst~"
Herman whistled, and the next instant, a black raven emerged from his shoulder. It landed at his feet and instantly split into countless others. A dense swarm of ravens surrounded him, flapping their wings as they spun around him in a whirl.
He felt as though he stood at the eye of a storm of crows. When the flock scattered, each one dissolved into wisps of black smoke before returning to his shoulder, reforming into an ancient tattoo, and he found himself standing in a deserted alleyway in Los Angeles.
"Raven Emissary… not bad."
Herman stepped forward. At his feet, the last raven, slower than the rest, finally dissolved into black smoke a beat behind.
