Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: Fall of the God of War! Absorbing the Source!

The War God Seth radiated confidence in his next strike.

"Die!"

A terrifying surge of energy erupted, shaking the very fabric of space around him.

Spatial rifts tore open one after another.

The pocket dimension crafted by the ancient Egyptian gods began to crumble, on the verge of total collapse, as if annihilation could come at any moment.

"I have to admit," Herman said, raising his gaze toward the blinding crimson glow, "this book in your hands… is a complete waste of potential."

His dark eyes shimmered, lashes trembling slightly as a tide of black death energy welled up within his pupils.

This time, facing an even more ferocious crimson force, Herman didn't budge.

With a single thought, he drew upon the full power of the [Realm of the Dead]. A flood of death energy poured into the space, drowning everything in its path.

In the invisible realm, a massive barrier of death energy took shape around him—a colossal armor of bone-like structure. The manifestation resembled a Susanoo from Naruto, magnified ten thousandfold.

No need to guess—Herman had indeed taken inspiration from that technique.

The skeletal giant loomed, filling every inch of the pocket dimension and blotting out the heavens.

The crimson energy slammed into it like a child's squirt gun against a primordial beast—utterly powerless to pierce the massive armor forged from death itself.

Just as Herman had said, Seth's command of the Darkhold was no better than that of any other unworthy wielder. Mere crimson energy was far from enough.

"What—what is this!?"

Seth's eyes bulged, bloodshot with disbelief.

Chthon's power—blocked by an invisible death force he couldn't even see? How could this unknown god possess such a terrifying command of death's law!?

"You… you're a Dimensional Demon God!?"

The realization struck him like lightning. His voice trembled uncontrollably.

Yes—Dimensional Demon Gods!

Only they possessed such pure, overwhelming power of Law!

But why would one of those beings—creatures who should exist beyond all realms—appear here, in the City of the Dead!?

Before Seth could recover from his shock, he saw Herman—untouched, unbroken—step forward through the fading crimson light.

Each step drew him closer, steady and inevitable.

A cold wave of terror spread through Seth's divine form. Even the weakest Dimensional Demon God could rival his father Ra himself.

And now, weakened and drained, he stood before something far beyond his comprehension.

"Dimensional Demon God! You can't be one! You shouldn't be here!" Seth roared hysterically. He couldn't accept that such an entity could walk the Earth.

Damn it!

Where were Earth's sorcerers?

Where was that old man with the white beard!?

How could they let a Dimensional Demon God enter the mortal world!?

"Dimensional Demon God?" Herman's lips curved slightly. "That's… not exactly wrong."

Amusement flashed in his eyes. Possessing two dimensions of his own, he could indeed be called one—at least, in essence.

"I seem to recall you just cursed the Lord of Death to die, didn't you?"

The armor of death energy still enveloped him, the air thick with its suffocating pressure.

As he raised his hand, the dense death energy surged outward, instantly binding Seth in place. The god of war struggled desperately, but no matter how he strained, he could not break free.

The summoning of Chthon's power had left him utterly drained—his vitality and divinity nearly extinguished.

"I prefer fair exchanges," Herman said evenly. "So, I'll accept your blessing—and return it as a gift."

His eyes were calm, almost serene, but the death energy swirling within them froze Seth to his very core. It was the stare of death itself.

"No—!"

Seth screamed as the death energy began devouring him. His body convulsed, his face twisted in agony, and his divine form began to rot and decay before his own eyes.

"The stench of death clings to you quite strongly," Herman said softly.

He leaned closer, his handsome features only magnifying the god of war's terror.

"Tell me, Lord of Strength… have you reached the end of your life? Are you ready to become my eternal slave?"

Herman's voice dripped with cruel mockery.

The tides of death energy swirled around their master, accelerating the dusk of an ancient god's existence.

Seth's strength was already spent, his vitality and divinity consumed by his reckless use of Chthon's power. He no longer had the means to resist the death energy corroding him from within.

The divine laws within his body flared weakly but failed to manifest their full power against Herman's dominion over death.

His twilight was coming fast.

Over the centuries, Seth had brushed against the breath of death more than once—but never had it felt this close, this real, or this absolute.

...

The War God Seth had reached the end of his life.

His eyes were filled with terror—and desperate pleading.

"Apologies," Herman said evenly. "Just as you sought to consume me, I now require you… to become my nourishment."

The moment his calm words fell, Seth let out a scream of unbearable agony. Countless streams of death energy surged into his body like a horde of ravenous beasts.

Boom!

Seth's divine form burst apart as it decayed, scattering into clouds of divine dust. A radiant light flared from within him, shining brilliantly for a heartbeat before vanishing into the void.

That flash illuminated the entire pocket dimension, filling it with a blinding brilliance—the final, fleeting spectacle marking the fall of the War God Seth.

Yet...

This divine phenomenon, one that mortals could witness only upon a god's death, didn't fill Evelyn with awe. Bathed in the searing light, she stood frozen, eyes locked on Herman's figure—the man who had just slain the ancient Egyptian god of war. Her heart trembled violently within her chest.

Indeed.

Mr. Wizard had won.

Evelyn couldn't even describe what she was feeling—only that her emotions churned beyond words.

Not far away, Herman looked toward the spot where Seth had perished. From the explosion's aftermath, a trace of divine essence lingered in the air. He raised his hand and drew it in. The god's condensed divinity—his very origin—was a priceless boon.

To Herman, it was pure nourishment.

With this essence, he could absorb the full power of a Sky Father–level deity.

As the radiant core slowly faded, Herman guided it into the divine flame burning quietly within his own body.
