As he heard the another roar, his heartbeat quickened, sending shiver down his spine with every passing moment.
[BOOM!]
Again the sound of a blast came, he could see some trees to quite far shaking and catching flames with smoke forming clouds in the sky.
"Hah… This is…" He exhaled a slow and long breath, covering his eyes with one hand. "I guess it should be safe here…"
After seeing that the explosion was at such a far distance away from him, he couldn't help but feel relieved.
But the fact he could hear the roar from such a large distance was enough to tell how dangerous this forest-like is.
Then he rolled his eyes looking at his clothes. "But… Why the hell am I transmigrated like this? In such a forest, in this condition?"
He stood up on his feet, feeling a little fatigue in his body.
"Judging from my condition…" he muttered, "the previous owner of this body must have been in some battle with a beast… or people around here and died in that fierce battle."
"My clothes are full of blood stains, and even the blood near my mouth has dried." He rubbed the dried blood under his lips. He scanned the surroundings like a rookie detective at a crime scene.
"But there is no dead body around here that he was fighting, so it must still be alive… or could it be…" his expression darkened suspiciously. "I was fighting with that dangerous beast roaring around…"
But with saying that all of a sudden his vision started to become blurry, the world around him spun for a moment his eyes closed and Shattered scenes flickered before him.
The faces he didn't recognize, a grand hall, pills and flames, a girl's smile. The flashes came and went, like broken glass falling.
His breath became heavy, feeling something pressing down in his head. After some time, his eyes opened again,
"Ha… Ha… These… are my memories…"
"Strange…"
"I feel like I am a different person now."
Somehow he managed to calm down his body. But Then a sudden strange sound echoed,
[Ding!]
"Huh?"
[Activating System…]
A glowing blue screen appeared right in front of his eyes, floating in the air like some cheap fantasy movie prop.
" A… system?" he blinked, baffled.

[Congratulations Host! Welcome to Heaven-Defying Club!]
"What… A club!" Yuan stared at the words in front of him, with an amused expression.
[Now, Host can become Invincible with Heaven-defying System]
A proud little chime followed, as the words flashed in bold.

...
Yuan stared at the floating screen, deadpan.
"Why the fuck, my cultivation is none! And what is this thing coming soon?"
Then another notification showed up
[Ding!]
[First Mission : Survive Till Morning]
[After Completing missions host can obtain a special treasure or a hidden information]
...
"SURVIVE?" Yuan just read the text, suddenly a strange sound fell in his ear, slowly increasing as if something is slithering toward him.
[SHRRRR]
"Fuck~" Yuan gulped with his eyes wide open, his trembling hand slowly touched the tree behind him. With stumbling feet he pushed himself behind that large tree and started running.
The fatigue in his body was almost lost, he ran as fast as he could, his eyes filled with fear and terror. His feet kept moving until he was out of breath, legs trembling in pain.
Covering a few miles, he finally found a small cave-like structure, maybe made from fallen stones, just at the bottom of a big mountain. It wasn't a proper cave, but it was enough to hide him.
He ran toward it, his legs numb and his breath barely escaping his throat.
"huff!.. huff!.." He tucked his back against the rock and fell into that small cave-like place in exhaustion.
"What… was that thing?" he muttered remembering the terrifying thing he had seen from that large tree. Not very far, in the bushes he saw a dark-green giant tail. And just a glance was enough to tell that it was definitely the tail of some giant beast!
After some time, his ragged breathing finally settled, and he exhaled deeply, releasing the tension inside. "Haih~ How can I forget, this kind of danger must be common in a place like this."
Yuan closed his eyes inside that dark, small cave. The good thing was that the large snake didn't follow him. It may have been because its attention was somewhere else, or it would have been so easy to kill him.
So, he decided to stay hidden in that small cave-like place and spend the night. The forest outside was full of danger, and who knew what kind of beasts might appear after dark.
So, it was much safer inside. After a while, his heavy eyelids closed, and sleep slowly took over him.

{Next Morning}
Sunlight slipped between the tall branches, falling in thin lines of gold. The forest slowly came alive, birds chirped, insects buzzed, and the morning breeze carried the smell of fresh earth.
Yuan slowly opened his eyes, the sunlight shining inside his shelter. As he sat up, his stomach growled loudly 'trrrrrrr'.
"Ugh~ I'm really hungry." he muttered, pushing himself to his feet.
As he stepped outside, the sound of burbling water entered his ears. It was faint at first, then clearer the more he walked. He pushed past bushes and trees, until his eyes widened.
A waterfall crashed straight down from the mountain cliffs, spraying tiny drops into the air, falling into a wide river.
"—?!?!"
He rushed forward, knelt near the river, and drank greedily. Cold, clear water filled his stomach. He splashed it on his face, washing away dried blood.
"Hm…" he glanced at himself though water disturb was ripples but as it eventually calmed down.
A face stared back at him from the water with long black messy hair loosely tied and clean jade like skin, black eyes with sharp striking features. Yet, there were still blood stains over purple-black robe and his hair.
"I really don't look good…" He sighed. "But it's a good thing I have some spare clothes"
He looked over waist, on which a grey coloured wide belt was tied. But a disappointed expression spread on his face.
"Tch! I need to find a way out of here first!"
His eyes slowly wavered at burbling water flowing in the river, a gentle breeze of fresh morning slightly disturbing its flow.

[Congratulation Host on completing your first mission, You survived the Night]
[Processing Rewards….]
...
"Finally." He glanced at the screen with relief.
**[Host can choose reward]**
[1. A Foundation Exilir]
[2. A Hint For Map to Escape Mountain Range]
...
"Qi Refining Exilir… and a hint" he glanced at the waterfall falling from mountain, mind swirling in thoughts.
"Qi Refining Elixir surely cannot be ignored. Since my cultivation is none, it can proficiently help in building a strong Qi Refining or even breakthrough in Qi Refining Realm. But the problem is… I don't know much about this place… also…"
"Aii… System, I want the map." he sighed and said, glancing at the screen.
[Hint: Climb the Mountain and Claim the Map from a star shaped rock.]
"Huh? Climb the Mountain…
WHAT THE FUCK!
How am I supposed to climb it?
My cultivation is none, I don't have any equipment and I can't even open my storage!
WHAT THE FUCK WRONG WITH YOU?" Yuan barked annoyedly. At this moment he totally has no way out of this place.
In his present condition he can't even use his storage belt. It was like he could just stand there and wait for his death.
And also that's what his memory concluded—the memory of previous Xu Yuan which tells some very strange facts about himself and about the world he stands in right now.
