The first rays of the morning sun stretched across the villa, painting the walls with gold and pink hues. Birds chirped outside, as if celebrating the peace that had finally settled over their lives. Emma stirred in her bed, yawning and stretching her small arms, the kind of peaceful innocence that only comes after a storm has passed.
"Good morning, my brave girl," Elena whispered softly, brushing a strand of hair from Emma's forehead.
"Good morning, Mommy," Emma murmured, her voice still sleepy but full of warmth.
Adrian appeared from the hallway, his eyes soft but alert, a small smile tugging at his lips. "And a good morning to my favorite adventurer. Ready to greet the day?"
Emma giggled, sitting up. "I'm ready! Today's the first day of… everything!"
