The sun rose gently over the city, casting golden light across the villa. After weeks of chaos, uncertainty, and terror, the household finally seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
Emma was awake early, her small feet padding softly across the hardwood floors, clutching her favorite blanket like a shield and comfort all at once.
"Good morning, my little star," Elena whispered as she entered the room, brushing Emma's hair back gently. "Did you sleep well?"
Emma nodded, her eyes still heavy with sleep. "Yes… I had good dreams."
Adrian appeared behind them, rubbing his eyes but smiling. "Good dreams, huh? Did those dreams involve pancakes and kisses?"
Emma laughed softly. "Yes! Lots of pancakes and kisses!"
Elena smiled, ruffling her hair. "Then it sounds like the perfect morning."
Adrian scooped her up into his arms, pressing a series of exaggerated, dramatic kisses across her cheeks. "Nothing like starting the day with kisses, right?"
