AN: Happy new year's eve lovelies.
"Come sit here," Jian Wei said, gesturing to the diagnostic medical bed with a nod.
Yu Xi obeyed, lowering himself into the seat with a quiet exhale. The sterile scent of the lab clung to the air, and the faint hum of the equipment filled the silence. Jian Wei began attaching neural sensors to Yu Xi's temples and collarbone, his movements precise, clinical.
Jian Rui stood nearby, rubbing his face with both hands. "Shit," he muttered, pacing once before stopping in front of Yu Xi. "Tell me exactly what happened."
Yu Xi's gaze dropped to the floor. "I saw his vitals spike on my communicator. He was having an episode. I left the team and went looking for him."
He turned slightly toward Jian Wei. "You said if anything happened, I should give him the TX506. In case he couldn't do it himself."
Jian Rui's voice was tight. "And then?"
Yu Xi bit his lower lip. "I found him in the cave. He didn't recognize me."
