Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 : That brat… still a child, yet already such a little pervert.

If you want it quickly, the cost will be far greater.

If you're willing to wait, the ingredients would cost about three to five thousand gold coins.

But if you want them fast… it might take ten thousand or more."

"Money isn't an issue," Xiao Yan said with a faint smile. "Just gather the materials as quickly as possible....and make sure they're of the highest quality."

"That can be done," Ya Fei nodded. "But this isn't a small amount of money, even for me.

Are you paying for it yourself, or will the Xiao Clan handle it?"

Her eyes narrowed playfully, curious as to how this boy intended to come up with such a sum.

Twenty thousand gold coins....an astronomical number for a twelve-year-old child.

"I don't have any money."

Xiao Yan waved his hand lightly, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he met Ya Fei's gaze.

"No money?"

Ya Fei was taken aback.

"So young, and already trying to draw me in with promises?" she teased, rolling her eyes. "

Little guy, even if you're talented, you can't expect me to sell everything I own just to invest in you.

That Hundred-Year Blood Ginseng I gave you already made my heart ache."

"Heh, but don't you want to become the true power behind the Mittel Family someday? Meeting me might just be your greatest opportunity yet.

Are you sure you don't want to invest in this potential stock, Sister Ya Fei?"

At his words, Ya Fei's lazy demeanor vanished. Her back straightened, and her beautiful eyes locked onto his youthful, handsome face.

"Who exactly are you?" she asked quietly.

"I'm just an ordinary little genius."

Xiao Yan grinned. Having lived a second life, he found himself quite enjoying this playful tone.

"Remember to deliver the materials to me as soon as possible," he said, clasping his hands behind his back like a tiny old man. "And make sure to keep this a secret."

Then, catching her off guard, he suddenly gave her round, perky bottom a light pat.

"You can send a few extra sets of ingredients," he added with a cheeky smile.

"I'll refine the extra ones into pills for you as payment."

Before Ya Fei could even react, Xiao Yan darted away like a puff of smoke, sprinting toward the Xiao Clan compound.

"You—!"

Ya Fei froze for a moment, stunned by the sudden touch. By the time she came to her senses, Xiao Yan was already far away.

"That brat… still a child, yet already such a little pervert."

Her beautiful eyes glared in the direction he had run off to. But instead of anger, her pretty face flushed a faint pink.

"What a strange little ghost… there must be something unusual about him."

After a moment of thought, Ya Fei returned to the Mittel Auction House.

She divided the prescription into two copies and handed them to two trusted subordinates.

"Go to the warehouse and find the best herbs we have—five full sets. The expenses will come from my private funds.

"As for the Earth Heart Spirit Milk… get it as fast as possible, no matter the cost."

Once the orders were given, Ya Fei finally leaned back into her chair, closing her eyes.

Why had she been persuaded so easily by a twelve-year-old boy?

Just these ingredients alone would cost around fifty thousand gold coins.

Even her personal vault only held about one to two hundred thousand in liquid funds.

Was it because of his talk about being an alchemist?

Or because he'd seen through her ambition so easily?

Lost in thought, she drifted into a light sleep.

In the hazy dreamscape, a pair of deep, calm, pitch-black eyes appeared before her...eyes like an ancient well.

Her eyes snapped open suddenly.

Xiao Yan's small legs carried him swiftly back toward the Xiao residence. He only stopped once he found the shade of a bamboo grove.

"That was… exciting."

He let out a long breath. In his past life, he had done far bolder things with Ya Fei, but somehow, it had never felt quite as thrilling as today.

Old faces, new stories.....this feeling of new wine in an old bottle made the ancient Dou Emperor feel young again.

"Being young really is great."

He chuckled to himself, but the smile froze on his face as he noticed a familiar little figure standing nearby.

A pretty young girl was gazing at him, her eyes filled with faint sadness.
