Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: What do you think about the attack on Gringotts?

  "By the way, Hagrid,"

Harry asked, looking at Hagrid again. "I heard from Malfoy and the others that Gringotts was invaded, and it was the day we went to Diagon Alley to buy supplies."

  Hagrid hesitated even more.

  Seeing this, Dylan stood up.

"It's getting late. Let's go back. I think Hagrid is about to go to the Forbidden Forest for inspection."

Hagrid was stunned at first, then nodded repeatedly. "Yes, I have to go around the Forbidden Forest."

Harry paused, then stood up. "Okay, then we'll go back."

Hagrid followed them out of the house, saw them off, and turned towards the Forbidden Forest.

Harry seemed preoccupied the whole way.

Dylan couldn't quite remember the attack on Gringotts.

  "Is it the Philosopher's Stone?"

He vaguely remembered that the Philosopher's Stone had been sealed away in Gringotts.

Gringotts was suddenly attacked, and it happened to be the day Harry went to Diagon Alley. It was probably because Hagrid had retrieved the Philosopher's Stone, and someone had set their sights on it, leading to the attack.   Dylan didn't react much.

Stone   or not, wouldn't Voldemort be defeated in the end?   He didn't really care.   He had only just heard about the attack on Gringotts from Harry.   "Malfoy really loves Harry, telling him everything,"   he thought, shaking his head.   In fact, he thought, instead of worrying about how to participate in the plot, he would be better off learning a few more spells and trying to reach the maximum level.   "Voldemort might not even be as skilled in Dark Arts as I am,"   Dylan thought.   Harry suddenly spoke up, "Dylan, why do you think someone would attack Gringotts?"   Dylan blinked. "Because they're easy to bully?"   "Huh?" Harry was taken aback.   Dylan smiled. "Why else? Isn't the most valuable thing about Gringotts the money and treasure hidden within?"   "It's just like robbing a bank. Of course the robbers are after the wealth inside, but who else could they be after the salesgirl?"   "If they just want to rob someone, why not just pick up someone on the street instead of robbing a bank?"   "And the most important thing is, robbing a bank might also mean robbing someone, but robbing Gringotts...wouldn't the robbers be interested in those ugly goblins?"   Harry pursed his lips, his eyes glazing over. "You seem to have a point, but..."   "Hagrid said Gringotts is the safest place, and yet it was attacked? Aren't you scared?"   "Scared?" Dylan gave a strange look.   Even if that noseless guy came in person   , with a well-aimed sneak attack, Cruciatus, Imperius, Grimfire, Avada Kedavra... it's not impossible to kill him instantly.   When he gets to work with Shatter, Shadowless, and Thunderbolt...   who's going to be afraid of whom?   "Huh? Wait!"   Suddenly, Dylan realized something was wrong.   "Didn't I say I was coming to Hogwarts to learn how to put on a tortoise shell?"   Why did he suddenly go off the track of learning spells...   "Dylan? What's wrong with you?" Harry's voice rang out.   Dylan came back to his senses and shook his head. "Nothing, I just thought about something about studying."   Ron's eyes were filled with shock.   How could you be so lost in thought about studying while walking down the street and chatting?   Is this what his brother always said about being born with the gift of learning?   Returning to the previous topic, Dylan said, "Actually, there's nothing to be afraid of."   "Oh?" Harry looked at him.

However, Dylan said nonchalantly, "I don't have any money saved there anyway. Even if it gets robbed, I won't lose anything."

"...Huh?" A question popped up in Harry's mind.

What do you mean by saving money or not?

He was asking, even Gringotts was attacked. The wizarding world is so unsafe. Could Hogwarts also be attacked by that mysterious group?

This has nothing to do with whether or not to save money at Gringotts!

"No, it seems to be related!"

Harry suddenly remembered that his parents seemed to have saved a large sum of money for him at Gringotts.

  His eyes widened.

  Gringotts couldn't just be robbed!

The group returned to the dormitory.

Dylan tidied up briefly and began to organize his class notes.

He wrote down the questions he wanted to ask Professor Snape over the weekend. He

then read for a while. After dark, he washed up and went to bed.

You can't clean up every day.

Dylan found that constantly using magic to clean made him feel as if the cleaning was not done properly.

Putting the toothbrush on my teeth and brushing it back and forth felt more reassuring and comforting.

  Waking up.

Having gone to bed early, Dylan woke up early too.

Saturday morning brought a quiet campus.

Almost half the students were still fast asleep.

Dylan strolled along the deserted paths, heading straight for the auditorium.

After breakfast, he visited Luna in the owl house.

The little creature was full of energy, her snow-white fur gleaming.

He'd recently exchanged several letters with his family,

essentially telling them that he was doing well and fulfilled here.

And that they no longer had to live in the basement.

  It was a five-person dorm,

but at least they didn't have to live in the basement anymore.

He'd also sent his parents another sum of money to invest in stocks.

It was 1991, and outside of the wizarding world, the Muggle world was largely unchanged from history.

He'd researched and found that this world also had companies like American Express, OPhone, and Walmart.

He'd asked his father to invest all his money in the stock market for these companies.

Fortunately, he had been constantly achieving success recently, and had accumulated a considerable amount of funds.

He converted all the money his parents had given him into British pounds, along with his own, and sent it to his parents.

  His reasoning was simple:

"Dad, I've met a lot of magic professors at school, and they're all amazing! Did you see the money I sent you? Invest according to my instructions, and we won't lose money."

These were actually two separate parts.

But when they were put together, the reader would think they were a single sentence.

His parents, just as he had imagined, had assumed that the Hogwarts magic professor had given them information about buying certain stocks.

In short, Dylan refused to answer any of these questions.

That didn't count as lying, did it?

"Well, how could that be considered lying?"

  He glanced at the time.

Dylan realized it was almost time for the professors to go to work.

He didn't know if Professor Snape was in his office right now, but he had mentioned it to him after class yesterday, and he thought he'd be waiting for him there.
