Chapter 14 - ANOTHER CRISIS

The golden sands of Rajasthan stretched endlessly, their once-glorious sheen dimmed under the scorching sun. The desert, which had witnessed tales of valor, love, and treachery, now stood still, whispering secrets only the wind could carry. The grandeur of the haveli had faded, its walls standing as a ghostly reminder of the vibrant past that had long been swallowed by time. Once, laughter and music echoed in its corridors; now, only silence reigned.

After Sanyukta left, the haveli lost its heartbeat. The stage that had once showcased the most breathtaking performances was now a mere wooden platform, cracked and broken. The colorful curtains that once danced with the wind now hung lifeless, their vibrancy stripped away. No Thakurs or noble guests graced the haveli anymore; its doors remained shut, guarding memories of a bygone era. Even the air seemed to have lost its warmth. The desert wind, once playful, was now a relentless force that carried only dust and despair.

Rani Sa, once the formidable matriarch of the haveli, now resided in solitude. Age had crept upon her, dimming the fire in her eyes, but her presence remained as regal as ever. Her once-lavish garments were now simple, but they carried the dignity of a queen who refused to bow to time. Only one loyal maid remained at her side, tending to her needs, watching helplessly as the once-magnificent Rani Sa withered away.

It had been ten long years since Sanyukta had walked away, choosing a different path for herself. In those years, life had moved forward, but the haveli had remained frozen in time. Rani Sa never gathered the courage to call her back, but she kept track of her. Through her friend, she had glimpses of Sanyukta's life, watching her children grow through grainy video clips played on an old Android phone. Aarav and Sanya had blossomed, and though Rani Sa had never met them in person, she felt a deep connection. She had also learned of Ramesh and Sakshi's deaths, an end that, for some reason, brought her a strange sense of peace. Perhaps, in their final moments, they had understood the weight of their sins.

But none of that mattered now. Time was running out for Rani Sa. A rare, inoperable brain tumor had made its presence known, and the doctors had offered nothing but a grim prognosis. She was sixty now, but the years weighed heavily upon her. The glow she once carried was fading, yet even in her weakened state, she remained a shining star, unwilling to let darkness consume her just yet.

When the maid relayed the news to Sanyukta, she did not hesitate. Without a second thought, she canceled her stage performance and handed her responsibilities over to a trusted student, ensuring Malvika was accompanied in her absence. She informed Prabhas, who agreed without question. He had been waiting for an opportunity like this—a chance to return to Rajasthan, to destroy the Vish and Sahani families once and for all.

Aditya, however, could not accompany her. He was in the midst of preparing for his entrance exams for both LLB and B.Ed. The children, however, would go with her. Aarav and Sanya were now in the fifth standard, having scored well in their final exams, and their summer vacation was just about to begin. Aakash, her youngest, was preparing to enter Junior KG. It was the perfect time to visit Rajasthan.

As the train approached the arid lands of Rajasthan, Sanyukta's heart pounded. A decade had passed, yet the sight of those golden sands triggered memories that she had long buried. She had left behind pain, betrayal, and heartbreak, but she had also left behind unfinished business. The moment she stepped into the haveli, an eerie silence engulfed her. The children clung to her, their innocent eyes darting around the massive structure. The corridors smelled of dust and forgotten dreams. It felt like a mausoleum, a place where ghosts of the past roamed freely.

Sanyukta found Rani Sa in her chamber, her frail figure draped in an old saree. Her once-strong hands trembled as she reached for her. "You came," Rani Sa whispered, her voice barely audible. Tears pricked Sanyukta's eyes. "I had to." For hours, they spoke, weaving through memories, regrets, and unspoken words. Rani Sa apologized—not in so many words, but in the way she clutched Sanyukta's hands, in the way her voice quivered when she spoke of the past.

Rani sa health showed improvement after the arrival of the children and Sanyukta. The days passed as they all played around Rani sa and the maid. The Haveli which became like a ghost house filled with the laughter of the children. After their arrival Rani sa showed some improvement and she started playing with them. They took children and show the places surrounding them. Night fell upon the haveli. Sanyukta put the children to sleep in the guest chamber. The air was thick with unease. The haveli was not just dying; it was haunted by something far more sinister. A sudden knock echoed through the haveli at midnight. Sanyukta's eyes snapped open. She could hear hushed voices outside. Her instincts screamed at her, something was terribly wrong.

She reached for the door, but before she could open it, the maid barged in, her face pale. "Memsahib," she gasped. "They are here." Sanyukta felt a chill run down her spine. "Who?" Before she could get an answer, a loud crash sounded from the courtyard. She ran outside, her heart hammering. The torches flickered, casting ominous shadows against the walls and then she saw them. A group of men stood at the entrance, their faces hidden under scarves. Their leader, a tall, imposing figure, stepped forward. "Welcome back, Sanyukta," he sneered. Her blood ran cold. She knew that voice.

Vish's men came to know that Sanyukta and Prabhas are in different places so they prepared themselves to face her threat. So One of the men who had conspired against her, who had torn her world apart. Sanyukta was aware of this kind of situation so she prepared herself, so that they could drive them away. "You thought you could run forever?" one of them spat. "You thought you could escape without paying your dues?" Sanyukta stood her ground. "I owe you nothing." "Oh, but you do," he said, stepping closer. "You owe me your life."Seeing this situation Rani sa told her maid to call the police and within seconds she called the police. But they did not wait, they fired the gun but it did not touch Sanyukta but passed through Rani sa's chest. A gunshot rang out. The sound tore through the silence, echoing through the haveli like a death knell. Sanyukta gasped as Rani Sa crumpled to the ground, blood pooling around her.

"No!" Sanyukta screamed, rushing to her side. Rani Sa's fingers clutched her wrist weakly. "It's… not over," she whispered. "Finish… what I could not." Her eyes fluttered closed. The regal queen of the haveli, the woman who had ruled with grace and power, took her final breath in the same halls that once celebrated life. Sanyukta looked up, her grief burning into rage. Vikram Sahani was still standing there, his smirk widening. "This is just the beginning," he said before disappearing into the shadows. Sanyukta clenched her fists, her nails digging into her skin. She turned to Prabhas, who had just arrived, his expression dark. "No more running," she said, her voice cold as steel. "We end this. Once and for all." The war had begun.

After the gun shot the goons were started to run by that time police arrived and grabbed them but the five men died by suicide attempt eating the drug which was prepared by Vish and fall from the wall of the Haveli. Sanyukta took Rani sa to hospital but she died on the spot. tears rolled from her eyes and she cannot do anything. She mesmerised the days she spent with Rani sa . She was the most beautiful woman she saw when she visited Rani sa at the age of 10.

One of Sanyuktha's uncle brought her to haveli telling her that Rani sa will be your teacher of dancing and at that age Sanyukta only want to dance and put makeup and dance on the music which is played behind by the maids. Rani sa was always strict but she never scolded or was cruel to the girls she was teaching. Today she is under the sand, never remembered by anyone. Her background was unknown to the people but she is a caring woman who only loves the girls as her children. She made dancing a profession but the people consider her as a woman who is running a brothel but she never sold any girls to anyone. After returning from the grave of Rani sa Sanyukta returned to the Haveli where she spent most of her days. She booked the ticket for after 14th day of Rani sa death and stayed with the maid remembering the days and the sounds of ghungroo (ornament wore on the leg while dancing)

What will happen next? Why did Vish send the people to the Haveli? What is his motive to do this? Why do they want to Kill Sanyukta and the children ? wait for the next updates my friend.
