Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Heng Gedimides

Keira crossed her arms, a look of displeasure on her face, and immediately retorted Fercart's question.

"You…! Keira, we were dispatched as royal advisors, and one of our duties is to supervise each other!" Fercart's brow furrowed, a dark line appearing on his forehead.

But it was clear his actions were an overreaction, even bordering on deliberately provoking trouble.

So, Keira couldn't be bothered with him. She turned around, waved her hands to open a portal, and decisively left the scene, unwilling to continue arguing with him.

Having been given the cold shoulder, Fercart clenched his fists, his expression exceedingly grim.

"Damn it, you bitch! How much longer can you act so wantonly?"

…"En Hen."

Inside the magic laboratory, Triss faced a magic crystal ball placed on the table, manipulating gestures with her hands and chanting a spell.

In an instant, the crystal ball glowed brightly and began to flash.

A few seconds later, the crystal ball stopped flashing, and a greyish-white upper body figure appeared above it.

From the figure's half-open chest and wavy hair, Karl could tell it was a woman.

"Triss? Since graduating from Aretuza Academy, I heard you're working as a royal advisor in Vizima. Are you doing well?"

The voice from the image was gentle, giving the impression of an older sister caring for her younger sibling.

"Dean… I have a friend who seems to have exceptionally outstanding spellcasting talent."

"But I can't confirm if he's a Source. Do you have any good ideas?" Triss asked seriously, her expression grave and a hint of reverence in her eyes.

"Hmm… a Source? Triss, you graduated long ago, there's no need to call me Dean anymore, just call me Margarita."

"And the friend you're talking about, is it him?"

"I didn't expect that the little girl who used to be so dedicated to magic would now be looking for a boyfriend…"

Margarita twirled a strand of hair with her fingertip, a playful smile on her lips, her tone barely concealing her surprise at Triss's description, as she turned her head to look at Karl beside Triss.

"Margarita! I'm talking about something serious!"

Teased by Margarita, Triss looked annoyed and embarrassed, lightly stomping her foot under the table and glancing at Karl.

"Oh dear, you're no fun… Alright. Aretuza Academy never accepts male students."

"Even if he is a Source, the Academy absolutely cannot change its rules," Margarita replied firmly, leaving no room for doubt.

"But the importance of a Source cannot be overlooked. I can introduce him to Hen Gedymdeith, the Dean of Ban Ard Academy."

"I believe with his confirmation, your boyfriend's talent can receive an objective and reasonable evaluation," Margarita added.

"It's him?! Karl's talent is so outstanding? Isn't this too much importance?" Triss's red lips parted slightly, an expression of disbelief on her face.

"Hmph, you underestimate the importance of a Source. In this era, there are no more than two known Sources; no amount of importance is too much."

"Triss, I'll inform Hen for you. So, that's all for now, I have a pile of matters to deal with."

As her voice fell, Margarita waved her hand and decisively cut off the magical communication.

After ending her remote conversation with Triss, she didn't wait for the magic crystal ball's light to dissipate.

She waved her hand at the crystal ball again, continuing to initiate communication with other sorcerers, without even needing to chant a spell.

The crystal ball flashed for more than ten seconds before being answered, and an image appeared.

In the image, a middle-aged man was holding a pen, writing something on parchment, his head not even looking towards the crystal ball.

But Margarita didn't care; she slowly opened her red lips and said, "Hen, there's something I might need to report to you."

"Oh? Why not Tissaia? Tell me about something even a Dean can't solve."

The middle-aged man's tone was very calm, and he still didn't turn his head to look at the crystal ball.

"Hen, Tissaia wouldn't be convenient to handle it, because he is a male, and he is suspected to be a Source."

"A Source? Margarita, are you sure?!" Hen turned his head in surprise, accidentally breaking the pen in his hand.

"Not sure, I haven't personally verified it. You know Aretuza Academy doesn't accept male students," Margarita shook her head, raising her hand to rub her temples.

"Location… I'll go myself." Hen frowned slightly, his expression serious.

"Temeria's capital, Vizima, Triss, one of the royal advisors."

After providing the information and location, Margarita closed the magic crystal ball.

"Temeria… many years after Falga's rebellion, a Source… Leticia was also discovered there."

A trace of recollection appeared on Hen's face as he muttered to himself.

Soon, Hen came back to his senses, stood up from his chair, and straightened his bear fur coat.

Without him making any movement or chanting a spell, an orange vortex portal appeared half a meter away from him.

Then, Hen turned and stepped forward, his figure disappearing into the portal… The next moment, he was in the outskirts of Vizima.

"Boom!" The portal Hen opened appeared with him.

As soon as Hen's figure appeared, he raised an eyebrow.

"Hmm? The chaotic magic here was disturbed not long ago, but it wasn't caused by me."

"There are fire, air, and other characteristics; it must be the three mages working here."

"Fire… a sorceress named Triss, I have some impression, she should be skilled in fire magic."

Before his voice faded, he closed his eyes, and an invisible mental energy surged, spanning hundreds of meters, quickly probing into Vizima.

Various things were filtered in his mind.

He scanned a brothel called the House of Night, where some of the "humans" inside had characteristics clearly not typical of ordinary people.

"Hmm? High vampires… and quite a few succubi, not harming humans, never mind."

Before long, Fercart, Keira, Triss, and Karl in the royal palace were all located by him.

But facing his powerful mental energy, none of them noticed anything.

Immediately, Hen used his mental energy to inform Triss of his arrival, asking her to bring Karl to the outskirts.

"Triss, I am Hen Gedymdeith, I have arrived in the suburbs of Vizima, you and he come over."

Inside the laboratory, Triss and Karl were discussing everything about the Martial Arts Tournament.

Suddenly, Triss froze, a magnetic male voice appearing in her mind.

"Triss, what happened?" Karl asked when he saw her dazed.

"Hmm, it's someone from the Brotherhood, I didn't expect them to come so quickly, and it's actually him…" Triss's face couldn't hide her shock.

She was surprised by the identity of the newcomer and amazed by the powerful mental energy he possessed.

Triss waved her hands to open a portal, and lighter items on the laboratory table were affected by its suction, flying around.

But at this moment, she couldn't care less; the items dropped on the floor would just have to be dealt with later.
