Chapter 217 - Chapter 217: What Are You Thinking About?

Chapter 217: What Are You Thinking About?

Cui Hao glanced at his fourth senior sister's expression and nodded with a look of understanding. It was probably some messy business.

He asked another question. "So this thing is what has been troubling you lately, Senior Sister?"

Lin Luoyu shook her head slightly. "It does not really count as trouble. I just have not figured out the most appropriate way to resolve it."

"This still does not count as trouble? Then how serious must your troubles be?" Cui Hao chuckled, then shook the letter in his hand. "If Senior Sister has no idea, how about listening to my thoughts?"

Hearing this, Lin Luoyu instinctively felt that Cui Hao's method would be unreliable, and very likely rather abstract.

But thinking carefully, how much more abstract could this matter get? There did not seem to be any room left for abstraction.

Still, Lin Luoyu chose to give Cui Hao a warning first. "You can speak, but your idea had better be something you thought through with your brain."

"Since you have already stepped onto the immortal path, why hesitate and look back and forth?" Cui Hao summoned a ball of flame in his hand and burned the letter to ashes.

Lin Luoyu stared in shock at the letter as it turned into drifting ash.

Cui Hao wore a calm smile. "Since going back would cause problems, then just do not go back. Master calls this reasonably avoiding risk. Just treat this letter as if you never saw it."

Lin Luoyu was so angry that she laughed. This counted as an idea? If she could treat it as unseen, why would she be troubled at all?

This kind of self-deception might work for Cui Hao, but it would not work for Lin Luoyu.

If something existed, then it existed. If something happened, then it happened. Many things in life simply could not be avoided.

They were not things that could be erased just by burning them away.

Regardless of difficulty, sometimes the question to ask was whether one should or should not do it.

Although she was somewhat annoyed with Cui Hao, Lin Luoyu still suppressed the urge to punch him.

This was, more or less… still a kind intention, perhaps.

Besides, the important thing was not that letter anyway. Burning it was fine.

But now, Cui Hao lingering here had become rather irritating. This suggestion truly made one want to hit someone.

Next time, she would never listen to this fifth junior brother's bullshit ideas again.

Lin Luoyu clenched her fists, fixed her gaze, and said in a low voice, "While I can still hold myself back, disappear from my sight."

Cui Hao reacted quickly. He instinctively stood up, ready to retreat.

After all, Lin Luoyu had already reached the Foundation Establishment realm, while he was still at the ninth layer of Qi Refinement. Even though he had mustered his courage, he still had not dared to take the pills refined by Master, and had yet to break through.

If Senior Sister really decided to beat him, he would have absolutely no ability to resist.

However, halfway through standing up to flee, Cui Hao suddenly stopped, as if he had thought of something. He lightly patted his clothes and took a deep breath.

"Go ahead and hit me, but can I finish speaking first?"

"No." Lin Luoyu raised her head without hesitation and swung a punch straight at Cui Hao.

Cui Hao did not dodge. He merely focused his mind and prepared to take the ferocious punch head-on, raising his hand to protect his face.

A moment passed, but no intense pain came.

Cui Hao only felt his left shoulder lightly tapped. He lifted his eyes to look at Lin Luoyu.

She had slightly furrowed brows, her right fist extended, gently pressing against his left shoulder, her tone calm. "Speak quickly."

"Was this letter sent by your parents?"

"No. My parents are both dead."

"Then was it from an elder in your family?"

"You could say that. Why?"

Cui Hao's expression turned serious. "In that case, what are you troubled about? Since it is an elder, then the one to deal with them should also be an elder. Whether it is slaying demons or anything else, just let Master handle it."

"With Master's abilities, what matter could he not resolve properly?"

Lin Luoyu withdrew her fist, showing a hint of hesitation, as though considering the feasibility of this approach.

Then she shook her head slightly, but still made a decision.

————————

The sect's main hall.

Chu Xingchen looked at Cui Hao and Lin Luoyu before him with a puzzled expression. The two had already been in the hall for half an hour, yet neither spoke nor drank tea.

When he asked what was going on, Cui Hao only looked toward Lin Luoyu.

Lin Luoyu, meanwhile, stammered for a long time without saying anything.

Li Yingling also looked at the two of them in confusion, watching their almost identical expressions and movements.

Could it be… tsk…

Li Yingling's expression gradually became ambiguous. After all, what matter would someone be shy to tell their own master about?

There were only so many possibilities. She truly had not expected that Cui Hao, this thick-browed and big-eyed yet somewhat unreliable fellow, would actually…

Lin Luoyu felt uneasy and lifted her head, only to catch her senior sister's gaze constantly sizing up Cui Hao and herself.

That look was clearly…

Despite already being at the Foundation Establishment realm, Lin Luoyu could not help but shiver. The words she had originally felt too embarrassed to say slipped out at once.

"Master, I want to go back by myself for a trip."

Chu Xingchen had thought he would hear some major news, but after waiting so long, this was all he heard. Was this really so hard to say?

Wanting to go home was, in itself, quite normal. Sometimes even Chu Xingchen wanted to go home.

His disciple had already reached Foundation Establishment, carried protective treasures, and had talismans at hand.

Returning to some remote village would not cause any major issues.

"If you want to go back, then you can—" Chu Xingchen was about to agree, but his gaze caught Cui Hao at the side, frantically winking and signaling.

Although Cui Hao's temperament was a bit unruly, he would not cause trouble maliciously.

Was there some hidden circumstance?

Chu Xingchen immediately changed his words. "Then you must be extra careful. The Xuanwu Kingdom has been chaotic lately. It would be better if I went back with you."

Cui Hao silently gave his master a thumbs-up from the side.

Fourth Senior Sister was good in every way, but sometimes she was stubborn to a fault, especially when it involved relatives.

Even knowing that something was off, she would still insist on going back.

If she got stuck in a dead end without anyone beside her to guide her, who knew what might happen?

Lin Luoyu stood up and looked at Chu Xingchen with a resolute gaze. "There is no need to trouble Master. Some things must be faced by the disciple alone in order to truly grow."

Li Yingling had originally planned to grab Cui Hao later to ask what was going on, but upon hearing Lin Luoyu's words, she looked at her in surprise.

Chu Xingchen smiled and said, "There is no trouble or not. It just so happens that I could use some fresh air as well."

Lin Luoyu said nothing, only shook her head firmly.

Chu Xingchen hesitated slightly. Cui Hao would not joke with him about such matters, so he must know something.

"Master, let me accompany Fourth Senior Sister."

Cui Hao suddenly spoke up in the hall.

Chu Xingchen and Lin Luoyu both turned to look at him.

Cui Hao did not mind at all, and said seriously to Lin Luoyu, "You have learned Master's immortal arts now. I have to properly supervise whether you leak any techniques."

Lin Luoyu was somewhat speechless. "You are talking nonsense…"

Chu Xingchen interrupted, "Let your junior brother go with you."

"Master…"

"You refuse everything I suggest. That puts me in a difficult position as well."

Seeing her master's expression that brooked no discussion, Lin Luoyu could only nod in resignation.

Chu Xingchen watched Lin Luoyu turn and leave with a helpless look on her face.

Cui Hao then showed him a bright smile, cupped his hands in salute, and left as well.

Chu Xingchen could not help but smile and shake his head. Then he looked toward Li Yingling at the side, only to find her staring blankly.

"What are you thinking about?"

Li Yingling came back to her senses and looked at her master.

"Master, I was thinking…"
