She explained how she basically made a research article and a unique album. Talking to famous poets and mixing their work with like minded music styles. Inspiring musicians to be modern day poets and philosophers.
This made Roman think he could probably publish some of his own research and philosophy on Nen, to get a one star for Menchi of course.
But in the original series, Menchi was a one star hunter. She could probably make a cook book or something similar and earn her star.
So Roman decided to nudge her in this direction. Planning on finding accomplishments of other one star hunters to let her reference.
Though Roman was already thinking of reaching the second star rank. For that, Menchi would need to hold an official position in the hunter associations, and have a disciple pass the hunter exam.
Roman could do that for her, or teach someone Nen to pass the exam for her. As for holding an official position, Roman wasn't sure, but it sounded like it could be solved easily.
Already planning for the future, Roman quickly thought of a location to go to, temporarily.
With the time with this new group coming to an end. Note indeed planed to find her Nen script friend, while Alice, Felipe and Thain planned to go on another adventure.
It turns out the crystal ice wasn't the only thing they were planing to sell at the auction, it was just for one of them to auction.
Everybody was gonna auction their own treasure, and they were all helping each other to collect treasures to auction.
Roman would have wanted to go with them, but decided against it, not wanting to be a spectator.
So they parted three ways, with Roman and Menchi heading to the hunters headquarters, awaiting the auction.
They purchased an apartment, with Menchi trying to become a one star gourmet hunter.
Roman set out to explore the city, the hunters association headquarters was situated in. A city that reminded him of earth's New York City.
His goal was to find a disciple, somebody who was talented enough to undergo the fast but dangerous method of learning Nen.
For this Roman went to the slums, searching for people who were thriving in the hazardous environment. People who were like a lesser extreme of the phantom troop. Or people who were about to die, people he could help if they were able to undergo a tribulation.
Roman didn't have a perfect way to test talent, so this was all he could do.
For the first week, Roman just noted down a few prospects.
Watching over them for the course of a month.
A few people catching his attention for their strong souls.
Souls weren't all the same, while their strength increased with time and experience. They also increased with the strength of their body and Nen.
In between the two acting like a buffer.
Two people stood out with unnaturally strong souls, because everybody's body in the slums were slightly weaker than normal. These souls were out of place.
One of these people was a middle aged man, while the other was a teenager.
After watching them for a while he approached the teenager first.
It was a guy with a buzz cut. Who would go around threatening people with his base ball bat. Smashing things all day long.
Standing in the teens normal daily path, the teen saw Roman and was instantly confused.
The kid didn't look from around here. Approaching him with his bat slung on his shoulder.
"Kid, what are you doing here? Lost or something?" The teen wasn't a bad person, even though he was looking intimidating.
It was just how he adapted to survive in this environment. It was unintentional and the teen, while he wanted to shoo the kid away, he was curious to why he was there.
"Brother, I am waiting for someone." Roman answered in a neutral tone.
"Huh? Who are you waiting for? No one comes over here? You should leave." The teen warned.
"But brother, that man told me I had a magic hand and I needed to use it on someone over here." Roman spewed some bull crap.
"What magic hand?! Get out of here!" The teen felt like he was being messed with.
"Brother that man said my hand could make someone feel good." Roman knew how bad that sounded, but he wasn't lying. He just meant something very different.
Roman's words made the teen beet red and a bit speechless.
So Roman took the opportunity to reach out his arm to touch the teen, unlocking his aura nodes.
"That man told me to, to tell the people I touch to 'control and cover themselves with the magic." Roman spoke, seeing the teen pause, and aura poring out.
The teen was very in tune with his instincts, and immediately felt the threat of his aura escaping.
This teen wasn't somebody ill and weak to the point of death. But his soul was strong, and Roman could only think the kids Nen was strong, over compensating for his weak body.
After discovering such people, Roman decided to try awakening one. Thinking they were natural Nen users, talented and perfect for his goal.
Watching the teen struggle, Roman decided to speak again, even if it distracted the teen for a moment.
"If you don't contain the energy you will die." Roman spoke.
Watching the teen sweat profusely, exhausted. The teen eventually succeeded but evidently not as talented as Gon or Killua.
The teen was close to dying, or rather close to passing out and if he did death would soon follow.
"Good." Roman said, but the teen was too tired to comprehend his words or even be mad.
Waiting for him to recover, the teen spoke. "What was that?!"
"Brother, come with me and I'll show you." Roman responded walking away.
But the teen hesitated, unsure of what to do.
Though he eventually followed, the previous experience was terrifying and while he had recovered. The Nen was still difficult to control and he didn't know how long he could last, before it happened again.
Though the direction Roman was heading made him hesitate again.
They were leaving the slums, into the real city. Where cops were everywhere, people he was wary of.
But as long as he didn't do anything he would be fine, and eventually they reached the apartment
With Menchi meditating in the living room. But neither of them disturbed her, and Roman began explaining Nen to the teen.
Who began practicing while Roman watched, eventually Menchi exited her meditation to cook. But Roman asked her to run an errand.
To get normal food for the teen. All of Menchi's ingredients were already enhanced to an inedible degree for normal people, and even beginner Nen users.
After Menchi left, the teen asked a question. "Who is she."
"That's Menchi, you are her diciple." Roman responded.
"Huh?" The teen was confused, so Roman explained hunters, nen and the reason Roman awakened him.
"The next hunter exam is in about ten months, I will train you until then. But after becoming a hunter you have to confirm with the association that you are Menchi's disciple." Roman explained, watching the teen digest everything.
"Well as a short term goal, you can join us in two months for a hunter event. But you need to be able to hold Ren for three hours to earn it." Roman acted like a teacher.
It wasn't long till Menchi returned and those two months passed quickly.
Menchi and Roman entered the hunter association with the teen with a buzz cut walking behind them.
Meeting up with Note and her group, Alice, Filepe, Thain and an extra member. Most likely the Nen script friend.
They greeted and reintroduced each other.
"Roman and Menchi, this is Sira, a friend of mine I mentioned previously." Note introduced.
"Hello young friends!" Sira responded as radiant as Note.
"Who is your friend?" Note asked directing her attention to the Teen.
"This is Rogan, Menchi's diciple." Roman answered For everyone.
"Well let's go in, let's not miss the action." Thain spoke, trying to get a good seat at the auction.
So they quit chatting and followed him to where he wanted to sit.
There were private booths and rooms, but only for the two star and three star hunters. They were all celebrities and most were secretive. Unfortunately these rooms and booths couldn't be purchased, so Roman was stuck to using alternate tactics to hide his identity.
Splitting away from the group, and putting on a mask.
Roman found a distant seat in the corner of the auction auditorium.
But not before giving Rogan the auction paddle meant for himself and Menchi.
They had already gone over this, and while Roman didn't tell them explicitly why he wanted to hide his identity.
Menchi knew it had something to do with how Roman was able to get so much money.
As for Rogan, he knew very little of anything, so it was just another mystery for him.
Though truthfully, Roman didn't want to be noticed and potentially identified by one of his peers as a transmigrator.
He didn't know if the hunters had already been alerted by a loud mouthed peer of his and were hunting for them.
Not to mention, Roman planned on buying a lot of things.
So not only did he want to hide from view and attention, he didn't want Menchi to be in the like light either. Possible tracking things back to him.
So for this auction, an unknown teenager, not even a hunter, would be buying a lot of valuable treasures.
As for why non-hunters could attend, it was allowed for a hunter to invite a plus one.
It wasn't anything rare or crazy, even if this wasn't allowed. Roman could just enter in Menchi's stead, such a thing wasn't rare for hunters.
