Chapter 3 - Between Fear And Curiosity

(She can read my mind) "yes I can" (I've lost it haven't I) "no you haven't" after I processed everything she let me speak but I still couldn't move "so you've been a vampire all this time" "pretty much" "you knew Adrien was a vampire but didn't tell me" "yes" "no wonder he let me go that easily because you were here" "maybe or he was just being dumb, you know I thought I didn't have to anything to worry about but you found out Davis warned you to be careful and you still told me,imagine I wasn't a vampire, no I'm sorry but I have to kill you" (wow. Just wow) Kate looked a little guilty " I'm sorry but it has to be done we can't risk you running your not that anyone will believe you but it's dangerous" she walked towards me, by some miracle I was able to move my legs but I obviously can't out run a vampire but Adrien came out of nowhere and pinned Kate to the ground, I regained control over myself but I sat there watching everything, seeing my so called best friend and my boss fighting. Then Davis walks in and struggled to get them to stop fighting "stop it you two" "well this idiot barged in here and started the whole thing" "she was about to kill Sophie" "well whose fault is it, your the reason she found out, what are you doing here anyway" "she was late and I told to come to the office so I can explain everything, so I thought I could come over to check if everything is alright since she lives with you". Davis turned to me "are you alright" my head was a mess and I couldn't get my words out so I nodded, Kate turned to Davis "we need to do something". Adrien stared at me and I felt pain, my knees buckled and I fell to the ground, Adrien moved closer and I blacked out. When I woke up I heard voices, and I saw Katherine, Davis, Adrien, Kate and Leah, they were arguing about something, when I got up their attention turned to me and I felt chills, Katherine spoke "you're awake finally we can get this over with", I realised we were in Adrien's office. Adrien said "since you know the truth about us, you would either take an oath or be killed" (what is this some kind of cult) Kate replied "no it's not a cult" (could you stop reading my mind), Katherine said the oath is basically like a contract but instead of a signature they'll put a brand on my arm. There were five different brands and each one of them were the leader of that clan, Kate explained "The sword brand is Clan Varyn Adrien's clan, the snake brand is Clan Seraphis Katherine's clan, the heart brand is Clan Thorne Leah's clan, the fang brand is Clan Kravix Michael's clan and lastly the skull brand is Clan Noctis Davis's clan" "where's Michael" "he's out of town right now and you need to make a choice now" I noticed Davis as been quiet "I choose Clan Noctis" Davis looked shocked but walked up to me "this is going to sting a bit" he pressed his brand on my forearm and a web of dark veins spread from his touch, and my skin burned, I hissed at the pain and tried to move my arm but he held on. When he let go the skull coiled faintly beneath my skin, black, pulsing once before fading. "It's done but Kate is still going to keep an eye on you", (what am I two, I don't someone babysitting me) Kate replies "well I guess you're stuck with me" "stop reading my mind". They let us go, as we were walking back home I asked "can all vampire's read minds" "no only psychic vampires can" "psychic vampires?" "Vampires have two different powers, physical like the basics, superhuman strength and speed, fast regeneration, immortality, heightened senses, also sonic screams, blood manipulation (probably why I blacked out) and for psychic, mind control and reading, foresight, telepathy, hypnosis, memory manipulation, creating illusions, immortality and spirit communication but for psychic powers to be effective you need focus and in a heated those requirements are hard to fulfil and we don't drink blood but feed on life energy and emotions." "Do u still have super speed, strength and healing" "yes but it's not as fast or strong as vampires with physical powers" "wait how old are you and the others" "I'm 150 years old, very young for a vampire, Adrien is 785 years, Davis is 782 years, Katherine is 825 years, Leah's still human, she's 29 years and Michael is 640 years." (And they look like that, I forgot vampires don't age) "If Leah is a human how does she have a clan" "her clan is made up of vampires, it's made up of humans who that have influences, knows about us and have decided to help us, I don't like the fact that we let humans into our business but it meant to give some kind of truce, we keep to ourselves do what we need to survive and they help cover it up as long there's no chaos" "what clan are you in" "Katherine's clan" she shows me her brand on her forearm. "I still don't like the fact that I'm going to live someone who almost killed me with no hesitation" she doesn't look at me "I'm sorry" "there was another way but still tried to kill me, did everything for the past 3 years mean nothing to you" tears started to form in my eyes, she didn't anything and some time later we finally got home. My head was hurting ever since Kate got into my mind, its like she pulled and old memory out and I'm trying to remember what it was, but I couldn't so I decided to go to bed.
