"An Han? An Han!"
An Han groggily opened his eyes to find a huge face looming right in front of him.
Startled, his hair practically stood on end, and he instinctively threw a punch.
But Wu Dongming sidestepped nimbly, then grinned and leaned in again. "How'd you get back last night? I went to the hotel this morning looking for you— the owner said you'd already checked out."
"Get lost!"
An Han snapped irritably.
"You didn't come back wearing women's clothes, did you?" Wu Dongming teased with a smirk. "Your roommates must've seen everything!"
"I never wear women's clothes! Stop spreading rumors!"
An Han absolutely refused to admit his cross-dressing escapade from last night. If word got out, Long Xing would surely realize that the girl he'd fallen for at first sight was actually him—and worse, it'd give Wu Dongming permanent blackmail material.
Whether Wu believed him or not didn't matter; as long as An Han flatly denied it, Wu Dongming couldn't prove a thing.
"If you didn't wear women's clothes, did you run back naked?" Wu Dongming pressed.
"Are you stupid? Couldn't I just have someone bring me clothes to the hotel?" An Han stretched lazily as he sat up in bed, rubbing his bleary eyes. When he looked at Wu Dongming again, his gaze was brimming with vengeful intent.
Even though the system no longer required Wu Dongming to wear women's clothes, An Han still wanted to shove him into a dress—preferably making him relive everything An Han himself had gone through last night.
"Don't look at me like that! I brought you breakfast!" Wu Dongming immediately backed down, hopping off the ladder of the bunk bed. "It's on your desk—go eat it yourself."
"Not completely heartless, then," An Han muttered as he climbed down and sat at his desk.
On the table sat a bowl of preserved egg and lean pork congee along with a tea egg—his usual breakfast.
Wu Dongming stood nearby, fawningly offering him a cola. "Big bro, ice-cold Coke."
"You're acting weird today," An Han eyed him suspiciously. "Need a favor or something?"
Sure, the guy had totally screwed him over last night—but in the past, stuff like that was just harmless pranks between them. After all, An Han had once convinced Wu Dongming's parents their son was gay.
They'd never apologized after pranking each other before; usually, they'd just double down and rub salt in the wound.
"Nope, I just suddenly find you more likable today," Wu Dongming said with a shrug.
Could it be the "Affinity" trait kicking in?
"Also," Wu Dongming added with a sigh, "my parents said they're coming to visit me next weekend—and they want to meet the guy I'm supposedly dating… Might as well clear up their misunderstanding while they're here."
Ah-ha! An Han finally got it. "Ohhh~"
He waited a few seconds, but when no system notification popped up, he instantly flipped. "None of my business! Get out!"
"That misunderstanding is your fault! You caused it—you have to fix it!"
"Last night, you refused to wear women's clothes for me, then turned around and tried to trick me into doing it! And now you expect me to bail you out?"
"But in the end, you only lost some money on the hotel room and barbecue! Besides, you didn't even end up cross-dressing, right?"
An Han froze for a moment. That was tricky—he'd just denied it outright himself.
"Anyway, I'm not helping you."
He lowered his head to eat his breakfast, but suddenly noticed how unusually quiet the dorm was.
Glancing at the clock, he realized it was already 11 a.m. He looked around—the only other person in the room was Long Xing, still fast asleep in his bed. The other two roommates were nowhere to be seen.
"Dongming, where the hell are those two bastards from my dorm?"
"How should I know? I barely talk to them."
Wu Dongming left shortly after, leaving An Han alone with nothing but Long Xing's snores.
After a few more sips of congee, An Han cast another wary glance toward Long Xing's bed, then got up and walked over to his wardrobe, crouching down to retrieve the hidden women's outfit from last night.
Should he throw it away or try to return it?
Staring at the complete set of women's clothing, An Han hesitated. For a college student from an ordinary family like him, tossing out several hundred yuan worth of clothes felt like pure extravagance. But returning it would be a hassle—and the longer the outfit stayed in his dorm, the higher the risk someone would find it.
"Maybe I should just throw it out?"
He still had enough cash to last until his parents sent next month's allowance. Making up his mind, he grabbed a trash bag and started stuffing the clothes inside.
Just then—the door swung open.
His movements froze. In a panic, he shoved the trash bag—and the incriminating outfit—back into the wardrobe, then snapped his head up, furious. "Why don't you knock?!"
But when he saw who'd entered, his expression instantly softened. Guiltily, he stood up. "Oh… Su Peng. What are you doing here?"
Su Peng, bewildered by the sudden hostility, hesitated. "I needed to talk to you about something. If you're busy, I can come back later?"
"Nah, it's fine." Seeing him about to leave, An Han quickly called him back. "Wait—actually, I need to talk to you too."
He shut the wardrobe door firmly and gestured toward the door. "Let's go to the balcony? Long Ge's sleeping."
"Sure."
Once outside on the dorm balcony, An Han leaned against the sink with his arms crossed, feeling oddly tense as he watched Su Peng lean against the railing.
Su Peng had seen him in women's clothes last night…
He had to shut him up—or at least test his reaction. He still had two more years at this school; if word got out he was into cross-dressing, his life would be hell.
"Apprentice~" he began solemnly.
"Call me dad. Stop trying to take advantage of me all the time."
"I taught you how to play Dota—whether you admit it or not, I'm your master," An Han said, not dwelling on the title issue. He still hadn't figured out how to broach the real topic, so he asked instead, "You said you had something to talk about?"
Su Peng paused thoughtfully, then walked over to stand beside him, mimicking An Han's earlier tone. "Little Han~"
"Just spit it out."
"I saw you wearing women's clothes last night."
"!!!"
What the hell?! That was way too blunt!
An Han turned pale with shock.
"That's not really appropriate, you know," Su Peng said, shaking his head with mock disapproval. "You're a grown man—why dress like a woman? Little Han, is something wrong with you psychologically?"
An Han grabbed his wrist urgently, panic flashing in his eyes as he defended himself desperately: "That wasn't me! It was Long Xing's new girlfriend!"
"Should I go ask Long Xing, then?"
"..."
An Han didn't know what else to say. He just gripped Su Peng's arm tightly, biting his lip and staring up at him with wide, anxious eyes—looking almost on the verge of tears.
Seeing An Han's pitiful, almost girlish expression, Su Peng couldn't keep up his stern act any longer.
Why did this notorious weirdo suddenly seem… kind of cute?
Maybe last night's cross-dressing had messed with his head—Su Peng felt like he was bullying a shy little girl.
"Alright, alright, just kidding," he waved it off. "I won't go blabbing about it."
"Phew… good."
An Han relaxed slightly—but then, a sudden system interface popped up right in his field of vision, jolting his heart again.
