Chapter 16 - bonus chapter

Leo's heart sank. For the first time that night, he didn't know how to respond.

He looked at her — really looked — and something deep inside him cracked open.

He exhaled slowly. "You should rest. It's late."

The maid led Kulture upstairs to a guest room, and when Leo was finally alone, he sat on the edge of the sofa, his thoughts spinning.

If what Daisy said was true…

If this little girl was really his daughter…

Then all those years — the pain, the silence, the breakup — it had all been built on a lie.

And yet, the memory of Daisy's tear-streaked face wouldn't leave his mind. The way she looked at him, begging him to believe her — it haunted him.

He clenched his fists.

"Why didn't you tell me, Daisy?" he whispered. "Why did you keep her from me?"

But deep down, beneath the anger and confusion, something else stirred.

A fear.

Because the more he looked at Kulture, the more he knew — he couldn't stay angry forever.

Daisy arrived at Leo's house, her heart pounding so loudly it felt like the world could hear it. The moment she stepped out of the car, her voice broke through the quiet air.

"Leo! Give me back my child!"

Her words echoed sharply, full of desperation and pain. Leo stood at the top of the stairs, his expression unreadable. Without saying a word, he carried Kultura upstairs to her room, leaving Daisy frozen in anger and disbelief.

When he returned, she stormed toward him. "How could you do this, Leo?!"

Before he could answer, her hand flew across his face — a sharp, trembling slap. She tried to do it again, but this time he caught her wrist. His grip was firm, his voice low. "Enough, Daisy."

Leo caught her wrist before it could land. His grip was firm, his jaw tense.

"Leo, you're hurting me," she cried, her voice trembling.

But Leo was too mad to listen. Anger clouded his thoughts as he dragged her toward his room.

"Where are you taking me?" she demanded, struggling against his hold. "I just want my child!"

He stopped at the door, turned to her with eyes burning. "Then I'll take you to see your child," he said coldly.

With that, he pushed the door open and pulled her inside, locking it behind them. Daisy's heart raced—half from fear, half from confusion. The room felt smaller with each breath she took. She looked at him, tears glistening in her eyes.

"Why are you doing this?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.
