A week had passed and it was finally time for Friday night Knockdown, and the Dark Dynasty was backstage and awaiting information on their matchups.
"This is ridiculous, they usually give advanced notice of who we'll be facing. But here we are on the day of the event and none of us even know who our opponent will be. None except for my sweet king I suppose." Night Queen said as she sweetly snuggled next to Black Mask.
"Get off me woman, I'm trying to focus." Black Mask said as he shooed her away.
Though their roles were that of King and Queen of the Dark Dynasty, there was no confirmed romantic relationship between Black Mask and Night Queen themselves. Though Night Queen herself would argue otherwise.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's an absolute pleasure to finally see such tremendous competitors take the SWF stage." Triple P said as he entered their locker room.
"Save it old man, tell my crew who they'll be facing tonight. I don't know why you think you can keep us in the dark so long about their opponents." Black Mask retorted.
"Oh don't worry about that. I just thought the mystery would liven things up for your first matches in the organization. Mr. Zombie, you're going to be going up first. You should get ready, because we got a tough customer for you." Triple P said.
"It doesn't matter who I'm up against they're in for a beating." Mr. Zombie said as he confidently hit his fist into his hand.
"You're uncharacteristically fired up Zombie. Any particular reason?" Black Mask asked.
"Of course, I want to prove that I deserved to keep my spot in the faction. Plus I'll show the SWF that I'm a serious contender." Mr. Zombie replied.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that you're motivated but like I said you don't need to take the faction thing so seriously." Black Mask said.
"Alright, I'm getting word that they're ready for you guys now, good luck out there Mr. Zombie." Triple P said as he received a message over his earpiece.
"Alright, let's go." Mr. Zombie said as he started to head out.
"Wait one second." Black Mask said, causing Mr. Zombie to stop and turn out. "Even though you aren't officially part of the faction anymore, you'll still be representing the Dark Dynasty out there. And the Dark Dynasty, never…" He said as he raised his hands over Mr. Zombie's shoulders.
"Stops!" Black mask and the rest of the Dark Dynasty said at the same time as Black Mask slapped his shoulders.
"We never!…"
"Surrender!"
"We never!…"
"Lose!"
"Go out there and show the world our power Zombie." Black Mask said as he gave a final slap to his back.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Introducing for the first time in the SWF! It's Mr! Zombie!" The announcer woman said as Mr. Zombie's theme music played and he made his way to the ring.
Mr. Zombie stood in the middle of the ring and played to the crowd as they cheered for him.
"Now it's time for his opponent! He's a journeyman that has been around for years but this is his debut on a televised event! It's the undaunted warrior! It's…. Bagman!!!!"
"Eh? That's who I'm fighting?" Mr. Zombie asked as his opponent made his way to the ring. He couldn't help himself but laugh at his opponents bizarre appearance. Which is saying something considering that his own appearance wasn't exactly what one would consider standard.
"Umm? I guess it looks like Mr. Zombie is going to win our first match easy. His opponent looks like a total chump!" Dark Mistress giggled.
"Don't underestimate him. The SWF doesn't employ weak fighters. Plus, I get the feeling that this opponent is a bad matchup for Zombie." Black Mask said.
"I. Agree." Twilight Killer added.
Though Black Mask warned them not to underestimate Mr. Zombie's opponent, Bagman, it was difficult for some members of the Dark Dynasty to do so.
Bagman's appearance was exactly what his name would suggest. He was a muscular man in jean shorts and he was wearing a brown paper bag with a crudely drawn on face over his head. He looked and sounded ridiculous.
"Haha! Look at this loser! Looks like my first victory will be easier than I thought. What a lucky break for me." Mr. Zombie thought to himself.
"Are both fighters ready?" The referee asked to which both competitors gave a nod. "Alright then, LET'S GO!!!" The referee shouted to signal the start of the match.
Mr. Zombie started the match with a running kick that landed square in the chest of his opponent. It knocked Bagman back against the ropes and Mr. Zombie followed up with a serious barrage of strikes. Bagman seemed unable to block or avoid any of Mr. Zombie's strikes.
"Well it looks like the fights going just the way that we expected it to." Black Maria said as the rest of the Dark Dynasty watched back stage.
"Yeah that Bag guy is totally getting wrecked." Dark Mistress giggled.
"No, pay closer attention. You can't see his face but you can tell that these attacks aren't actually phasing him." Black Mask explained.
Just as Black Mask expected, Bagman easily bounced back from Mr. Zombie's barrage of strikes. He then went on to return the favor with a furious barrage of strikes himself.
Mr. Zombie just smiled in the face of his onslaught of blows. Mr. Zombie had a special condition that prevented him from feeling pain. He could receive a brutal beating and brush it off as if nothing happened, hence his namesake. Mr. Zombie countered Bagman's next attack and had him lifted up over his shoulder.
"Oh, folks I think we're about to see Mr. Zombie's special finishing move!" Bill announced.
"Undead Driver!"
Mr. Zombie jumped up and locked both of Bagman's arms with his legs then dropped him on his head. Bagman was laid out on the canvas after receiving Mr. Zombie's vicious move.
"It's over now, there's no way he could get back up after being hit by the Undead Driver. The guy was tougher than expected, but in the end he just couldn't overcome Zombie's inability to feel pain. Well it's good to see us get this started with a win." Black Maria said.
"1!,2!" The referee began to start a count as Mr. Zombie covered.
"No, you're wrong. It's Zombie's inability to feel pain that's lost him this match." Black Mask said.
"Huh? What do you mean?"Black Maria asked.
Suddenly Mr. Zombie was thrown off of his opponent and Bagman had made it back to his feet.
"Heh, so you managed to make it back to your feet. So what? I'll just put you right back down this time for good!" Mr. Zombie said. As he attempted to rush in to attack Bagman again, he fell to the ground. "Huh? Why did I fall?" He thought. He then looked down and noticed that his leg had been broken. "Huh? When did that happen?"
While the two were on the ground Bagman had gripped Mr. Zombie's leg so hard that he had broken it. Though due to Mr. Zombie's inability to feel pain, he didn't notice.
With his leg broken, Mr. Zombie could barely move. This allowed Bagman to easily grab him in a side body lock.
"Oh and now it looks like Bagman is going for his special move! He's trying to finish it with the," Ted announced.
"Body Bag!!!!"
Bagman slammed Mr. Zombie to the canvas and held him flat on the mat. The referee started the count.
"1!"
"2!"
"3!"
"And that's the three count folks! It looks like Bagman gets the win and spoils the debut of Mr. Zombie, and somewhat spoils the debut of the entire Dark Dynasty." Ted said.
"Looks like the Dark Dynasty might be a bit overrated." Bill said as Mr. Zombie left the arena to the jeers of the crowd.
Mr. Zombie went back stage with his head hanging low. "Mask, I'm sorry. I know I let you down but I promise if you give me another chance I'll make it up to you." He pleaded.
Black Mask placed his hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it, it doesn't really matter." He said. Mr. Zombie looked up with a smile on his face. "It doesn't matter because you're no longer a part of the Dark Dynasty." He said coldly as he removed his hand. The smile faded from Mr. Zombie's face as he was taken away to get treatment for his injury.
"Looks like you were right to not choose him." Black Maria said as she mocked Mr. Zombie.
"Of course I was, I don't make mistakes." Black Mask replied as they walked away, leaving Mr. Zombie behind.
