Chapter 27 - 27: Loki and the Avengers!

["Heh heh…"]

[Faced with the questioning from Ravonna Renslayer Ravonna Renslayer, Loki once again wore his signature arrogant grin.]

["Gods do not offer pleas."]

["This absurd little play is entertaining, but I must be going home."]

[Renslayer shook her head, impatient, and asked:]

["Sir, are you guilty or not guilty?"]

[Loki sneered.]

["Guilty as the God of Mischief!"]

["Guilty of finding all this tedious!"]

["But guilty of violating the Sacred Timeline? I am innocent! You've got the wrong person."]

[Renslayer, curious, asked:]

["Oh? Then who should we be arresting?"]

["Of course — the Avengers."]

[Loki answered without hesitation:]

["I got the Tesseract because of their time travel."]

["Believe me, you could even smell the same cologne on two Starks in the same timeline."]

["If you want Variants, they're the Variants!"]

["Give me an army and sufficient resources, and I'll go back and wipe them all out."]

Hearing Loki's blunt accusation, the otherworldly livestream room erupted in uproar.

"The Avengers? What the heck is that?"

Wanda watched Tony warily. To her, any organization tied up with that villain Tony Stark could not be good.

"Time travel? Me?"

Unexpectedly, Tony rubbed his chin and smirked with self-satisfaction.

Of course—something as avant-garde as time travel would naturally involve him.

But the TVA's tech on the screen was impressive: a single collar could perfectly control someone's time!

It could separate the flow of time from a person's perception, so that when time slowed the person still felt pain at full intensity—astonishing!

What principles could produce tech like that?

Thinking this, Tony turned confidently to Loki and said:

"Aha? You think I'd be wiped out by giving you one army? You clearly don't know what I do."

"The strongest armies on Earth are armed by my company!"

"By the way, I never wear cologne — that scent doesn't fit my style."

Seeing Tony's arrogance practically written on his face, Loki snorted coldly:

"Human armies are meaningless before gods."

[The footage continues.]

["We're not talking about the Avengers right now."]

[Renslayer said slowly.]

["What they did was supposed to happen. But your escape was not."]

["Huh?"]

[Loki frowned, then let out a cold laugh.]

["And who decides what should happen or shouldn't?"]

["The Time Keepers, of course." Renslayer sounded increasingly impatient.]

["Oh, the Time Keepers…"]

[Loki exaggerated his expression in mock amazement:]

["Perhaps I should have a… god-to-god conversation with these Time Keepers."]

["Sorry, the Time Keepers are far too busy."]

[Renslayer finally lost her patience: "So how do you intend to plead?"]

[Loki's eyes darkened, and he spread his arms wide.]

["If I am guilty, then it is only because I did this!"]

[As soon as he finished, both his hands clenched into fists—]

[And then… nothing happened.]

["Heh."]

[The female guard standing behind him, Hunter B-15 smirked mockingly.]

["What is he doing?" the judge asked with some puzzlement.]

["Ma'am, he's trying to use his magic."]

[Hunter B-15 replied, suppressing laughter.]

["Wait—be quiet, all of you! Don't force me!"]

[Loki's face was full of disbelief as he desperately tried to summon his powers, repeatedly clenching and unclenching his fists.]

[At last, he gave up and slammed his hands down hard on the bench in front of him.]

["Damn it! Why isn't it working?"]

["Because magic doesn't work in the TVA."]

[The judge looked at Loki coldly and delivered her verdict:]

["This court finds you guilty. You are sentenced to reset!"]

["Reset? What does that mean?"]

[Hearing the ominous sentence, Loki's face twisted with panic. But the guards had already rushed forward to drag him away.]

[Remembering the Goldman Sachs son who had been erased into nothingness earlier, Loki finally shouted in sheer desperation:]

["You stupid bureaucrats, you have no right to decide my fate!"]

["Damn it, do you even know what I'm capable of?"]

"This… this is my future?"

Watching the version of himself on-screen struggling in despair, yet unable to break free from the guards' grip, Loki's heartbeat quickened.

Unconsciously, his fingers tightened around the Frostmourne in his hand.

Could it be… he was going to be killed again?

No way!

Was his future truly this bleak??

Just as everyone thought Loki was about to be dragged out for a "reset," a man's voice suddenly rang out on the screen:

["I think… I know what he's capable of."]
