Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

In the past, she would never have dared to approach him.

"That's not enough for that dumbo…" Suddenly, a voice sounded from behind Hinata.

*'what!?…'* She looked back and saw Ino's smiling face, though there were still traces of tears on it.

"I… Ino?"

With a bright smile, Ino walked up to Hinata and patted her tender and fragile little shoulders. "Are you surprised to see me?"

Hinata didn't know what to say. There really wasn't much in common between the two of them. Hinata was introverted and low-key, while Ino was cheerful and lively. Moreover, Hinata only cared about Naruto, but Ino, Sakura, and countless other crazed girls all revolved around Sasuke.

"Well, we are classmates… You're not angry at me because of sakura, are you?"

Hinata shook her head hastily. "N-no, no, I just…"

"Alright, alright, I was just teasing you. You really do take things so seriously…"

Hinata laughed as well. "Ino… what did you just say wasn't enough?"

Ino giggled and said mysteriously, "Of course, it's your feelings…"

"My… my feelings?" Hinata became visibly panicked again.

"You like Naruto, don't you?"

Hinata was struck by lightning. "Ah… I… how could you…"

Ino laughed and said, "Anyone with eyes can see it. Only Naruto, with his dumb head, doesn't understand anything. But Hinata, you're really something. Did you think you hid it well?"

It was the first time that Hinata had had her thoughts exposed so bluntly. Her body began to tremble involuntarily, and her face became so red with embarrassment that it seemed as if it was about to boil. Any hotter, and it would start to smoke. She quickly covered her red and hot cheeks with her hands, her eyes wide in disbelief.

*'Damn it, did everyone see that?! How… how could this happen…'*

Ino burst out laughing. "It's not that surprising. As there are many people in the class who are as stupid as Naruto. After all, someone as perceptive as me is a rare find…"

Hinata breathed a sigh of relief. She lowered her head, her face still blushing. "Ino, is Sakura… still mad at me?"

When Ino heard Sakura's name, the expression on her face suddenly darkened. She smiled sadly and self-deprecatingly. "I don't know about her…"

Hinata, also delicate and sensitive, understood what Ino meant very well. "I understand… but you and Sakura may seem like they're fighting each other, but they've actually always been best friends…"

Ino ruffled Hinata's hair and smiled. "As expected, a bystander sees things more clearly. As long as it's not about you, you really do see things clearly…"

Hinata asked worriedly, "So, is Sakura okay?"

Ino was silent for a moment. "In her eyes, I'm probably a traitor to our friendship… After all, I'm on your and Naruto's side… instead of being on the side of my best friend."

Hinata also fell silent.

Ino smiled and said, "Don't worry, she'll be fine. It's just that some things according to her. But how can everything in the world go as planned? The world doesn't revolve around any one person… Sakura should understand this…"

Hinata asked, "What?"

Ino shook her head. "How should I put it? It's more like Naruto…"

"Naruto… Naruto?"

"Could it be that Sakura also…"

Ino smiled teasingly. "Oh, you are really sensitive when it comes to Naruto… Sakura is definitely not someone who would easily fall in love with someone else. She'll always love Sasuke. It's just that in the past, Naruto always stayed around her and showed his affection. Even if she punched and kicked him, he didn't care and was still so persistent. But now…"

Hinata understood what she meant. Naruto seemed to have become a different person these days. Although, no matter how he changed, it did not affect her love for him.

"Is it a sense of loss?" Hinata whispered.

Ino sighed. "Maybe a little bit… Sometimes people are just like this. Even if they don't like the person or thing, once they lose it, they will always feel lost…"

Hinata couldn't help but cover her mouth and smile secretly.

Ino glared at her. "Why are you laughing?"

Hinata chuckled softly and said, "Because… Ino, you speak so maturely, like an adult…"

Ino hummed, "That's called maturity, maturity! " She looked at Hinata's smiling face, and her heart couldn't help but move slightly, thinking of a problem that had troubled her for a long time.

"Hey, Hinata…"

"Um?"

The two walked side by side, and Ino couldn't help but turn her head and ask, "Naruto… he was pestering Sakura so much before. Don't you feel paine when you see that?"

Hinata lowered her head and blushed, but she shook her head without any hesitation. "No."

"So, what if he never likes you?"

Hinata's eyes reflected the twilight of the dusk. "Then, I'll always wait for him."

Ino was stunned. "What if Naruto starts liking someone else?"

Hinata whispered shyly but firmly, "Then I will watch him from afar… and pray for his happiness."

Ino looked at Hinata in surprise. The setting sun cast a golden glow on her petite body. At this moment, Hinata actually had a somewhat holy feeling in Ino's eyes. Ino couldn't help but stare in amazement.

"Hinata-chan, you said I was old, but you are more mature than me, right? you see these things so clearly?"

Hinata blushed and shook her head. "I… I just like to observe…"

Ino was silent for a moment, stroking her chin in thought. *'If it were me… and I could never get Sasuke to like me… what would happen?'*

Hinata saw through her thoughts. "What would Ino do?"

Ino blushed, a rare occurrence. "Ah, well… hahaha, to be honest, I don't know either… But I'm afraid I'm not as great as you, Hinata. If I saw Sasuke-kun with someone else, I'm afraid I will cry and do some stupid things…"

Hinata nodded. "It's..... it's definitely going to be sad…"

Ino asked, "Then how can you still be happy for someone ?"

Hinata thought about it. "I think if you like someone, you would want to see them happy."
