"For anyone in the Hyuga clan, controlling the outward flow of chakra is a fundamental skill," Hinata explained softly. "It's essential for the Gentle Fist. If there's anything you don't understand, Naruto-kun, you can ask me. I... I'll do my best to help."
Naruto looked at Hinata, his heart filled with a warm sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Hinata. You're so kind."
A blush crept up Hinata's cheeks, and she lowered her head, whispering, "No, it's nothing..."
Naruto then poured out all the doubts and questions that had been plaguing him. Hinata listened patiently, answering every question, no matter how small or complex. These were details he couldn't quite ask Asuma, and even the Neji in his dreams was too adversarial to be a proper teacher. Hinata's help was a godsend, a perfectly timed rescue. Before they knew it, the day had flown by, and the moon was rising outside the window. They had even forgotten to eat lunch.
With her guidance, Naruto's understanding of chakra release had improved dramatically.
"Thank you so much, Hinata!" he said, his voice full of genuine appreciation. "I feel like I've learned a ton!"
Hinata glanced at the moonlight outside and gasped. "It's already night?! Oh no, I lost track of time talking with you, Naruto-kun. My father will be upset..." She quickly stood up. "I-I have to go!"
"Hinata..."
Before Naruto could say another word, she had hurried out the door. He rushed to the window and watched her small figure running in the moonlight, then waved. "Thank you, Hinata!"
She heard his voice, turned to give him a quick, blushing smile, and then ran off again into the night.
With Hinata's patient, day-long guidance, it felt as though a light had been switched on in Naruto's mind. Releasing his chakra in a massive burst was easy for him, but controlling it with precision afterward had been the real challenge. Hinata's explanation was the key he had been missing. Watching her disappear, Naruto felt a pang of guilt mixed with his gratitude. *She was so focused on helping me that she skipped lunch...* he thought, scratching his head in shame. *I have to thank her properly next time. But for now... it's time to eat. Then I'll put everything she taught me into practice!*
Naruto did exactly that. After a hurried dinner, he went straight back to his training. Just as he'd hoped, with Hinata's guidance, his control over his released chakra was far more refined. When he and his clone performed their combo, the Gale Palm's wind still amplified the shuriken's speed and power, but now, he could finally work on the last, crucial step: accuracy.
*Thwack!*
*Thwack! Thwack!*
Naruto had drawn a bullseye on a wall. He controlled the wind-infused shuriken and let them fly. He went from missing the target completely to gradually hitting the outer edges, his scores getting higher and higher. Seven rings... eight rings... nine rings! Once he understood the trick, releasing the chakra felt like extending his own arm to place the shuriken on the target. His accuracy improved with astonishing speed.
"Ten rings!" Naruto shouted, overjoyed. For the first time, he had stabbed a shuriken directly into the bullseye. But that wasn't enough. It was only one shuriken. Soon, he was working with two, then three, four, and five.
After practicing late into the night, he finally reached his limit. His final result: all six shuriken, propelled by the Gale Palm, could strike the ten-ring bullseye consecutively. Just as the system prompted him that it was time for bed, he reluctantly went upstairs, falling into a deep sleep the moment his head hit the pillow. In his dreams, he once again used his perfected technique against Sasuke and Neji, and this time, his chances of winning began to climb once more.
The next day was the fifth day of his training. Asuma was left speechless, staring in shock at the results of Naruto's practice. Six shuriken, boosted by the Gale Palm, shot forward with incredible speed and power, piercing the exact center of the target on the wall with perfect precision. If that had been a real enemy, even a powerful ninja would have been killed instantly. The shuriken blessed by the Gale Palm were in a different league from ordinary projectiles. Their speed was like a gale, their penetration like lightning. It happened in an instant, a blur too fast for the naked eye to follow, burying them deep into the wood.
Asuma sighed, a look of awe on his face. "Naruto, I have nothing left to teach you for this jutsu. All you can do now is continue to increase the number of shuriken you can manipulate and the power of your Gale Palm. You don't need my guidance for that."
Naruto felt both proud and a little disappointed. "Asuma-sensei..."
Asuma smiled. "However, since you've performed so well, once you officially complete this training, I'll teach you one of my own Wind Style ninjutsu."
Naruto was immediately overjoyed. "Really?!"
"Of course. I have a wind-style ninjutsu that's perfect for you."
"Alright! I'll get it done as soon as I can!"
Naruto spent another three days practicing, and on the eighth day, he finally perfected the Gale Palm to the system's satisfaction. The completion prompt finally appeared. Asuma witnessed Naruto's final results. The power of the Gale Palm alone was now enough to blow enemies away, and when added to a shuriken, it unleashed devastating force. The number of shuriken Naruto could accurately control had reached twelve.
Asuma could only marvel at the sight. "Well done, Naruto! To be able to perform a ninjutsu like this at your age, and with power far beyond the norm... you are truly a genius ninja."
Naruto rubbed his nose and chuckled, his eyes filled with anticipation. "Then, Asuma-sensei, can you teach me that new ninjutsu now?!"
Asuma smiled. "I won't break my promise. Naruto, watch carefully. This move is called... Wind Style: Whirlwind Fist!"
He gripped his trench knife tightly and poured his powerful wind chakra into it, the swirling energy enveloping not just the blade but his entire fist. With a roar, he blasted his fist forward. The combined force of the punch and the chakra-infused blade struck a large stone in front of them, penetrating it and causing it to explode.
*BOOM!*
The immense destructive power left Naruto dumbfounded. "Whoa... that's amazing..."
Asuma nodded, satisfied. "Naruto, I think this move is perfect for you. This is what I call a Wind Style nin-taijutsu. Though it's a Wind Release technique, it's more like a physical attack. It's a technique that uses wind chakra to wrap around your fist or a blade, unleashing incredible destructive force."
Naruto was instantly intrigued and eager to try. "Okay! Let me give it a shot!"
He had experience from the Gale Palm, and the new application felt intuitive. He skillfully released his wind-natured chakra, guiding it to gather around his right fist. He could feel it coalesce—a swirling vortex of power that he controlled, released, and maintained. In a moment, his right fist had become a violent whirlwind of wind jutsu.
"Haaaaaa!" he roared, and punched.
*CRACK!*
Although he couldn't replicate Asuma's feat of shattering the stone completely, his punch sent another large boulder flying backwards. Cracks spread across its surface as stone chips flew everywhere.
Asuma couldn't help but applaud. "Well done, Naruto!"
Naruto looked at his own fist in stunned surprise. "Have I really gotten this strong?!"
Asuma just laughed. "You make it look easy, don't you?"
