Back in his rented room.
The bright light illuminated every corner as Roland sat in a chair, observing the Mini-Dora standing on the table.
Other than its color and size, it wasn't much different from the Doraemon he remembered—most importantly, it also had a semi-circular pocket on its white belly.
"Dorara!"
Mini-Dora perched on the windowsill, looking out at the street with curiosity. It seemed very lively.
"Are there any gadgets in your fourth-dimensional pocket?" Roland asked, gently poking its little head.
Although his memory was a bit fuzzy, he clearly remembered that Mini-Dora's fourth-dimensional pocket also contained quite a few gadgets. Even though they were all miniature versions with weakened abilities, it didn't mean they were useless.
If it had a causality-type gadget like the "What-If Phone Booth," even if he couldn't use it at a human scale, Roland could have Mini-Dora change the very nature of this world. For example, changing the world of magic into a world of technology, making it so that the Black Dragon Acnologia never existed, or even Zeref...
"Do—ra!"
Seemingly understanding Roland's words, Mini-Dora cutely stuck out its tongue and pulled a square flashlight from the pocket on its belly.
"The Shrink Ray?" Roland lightly pinched his chin, leaning forward to look at the gadget it held. "Are there any others? If so, take them all out for me to see."
"Dorara?"
Mini-Dora scratched its head but obediently took the gadgets out of its pocket one by one. The Hopter, the Anywhere Door, the Shrink Ray, the Air Cannon, Momotaro Dango, a box of unknown candies... all of them were miniature versions.
The seven or eight scattered gadgets were laid out on the table, and Roland fell silent.
"Are these all the gadgets?"
He turned his head and couldn't help but ask.
"Dora, dora."
Mini-Dora nodded with its hands on its hips.
That's so few... although it's better than nothing.
Sighing almost inaudibly, Roland didn't show any disappointment on his face. After all, he had been mentally prepared from the moment he saw the quest.
With the Shrink Ray, these gadgets weren't entirely unusable.
"But, can the Anywhere Door be used in this world?"
Roland picked up the small, red door, which was only the size of his palm, and muttered thoughtfully.
That device could be used on Earth and in space, mainly because it had specific maps built-in and was limited to a distance of 10 light-years.
This place and the Earth from his previous life weren't just in different universes; they were two completely unrelated worlds.
"To the Fairy Tail guild."
Roland stated the destination and then pushed open the red door with his finger.
The next moment, the scene inside the guild appeared on the other side of the Anywhere Door. The familiar tavern was pitch black, and the empty hall was very quiet.
It really works?
Roland was stunned, then a happy smile appeared on his face.
"Then next... to the girls' dormitory, to find Levy."
After pondering for a moment, he decided it would be better to experiment a few more times, at least to test the usage methods and range of the Anywhere Door.
As his voice fell, he pushed open the door again, and a cloud of steam instantly rushed into the room, along with a familiar voice.
"Ah... the hot spring feels so good."
Levy was lying on a smooth, wet bath stone, letting out a cute and lazy sigh.
Through the hazy mist, Roland could clearly see the girl's fair back. He coughed lightly and closed the door without a second thought.
I can't look. If I keep looking, I won't be able to sleep tonight.
After a few more attempts, Roland had more or less figured out how to use the Anywhere Door.
Its capabilities were no different from what was shown in the anime. Not only could it go to other countries he had never been to, but even the moon hanging in the night sky was no problem.
However, it couldn't be used to go to some special places, like the Celestial Spirit World and Edolas...
What a pity. He had originally wanted to see the Fairy Tail of the parallel world.
Roland thought with regret.
"Dora~"
Just then, Mini-Dora pitifully tugged on his sleeve and uttered a series of syllables.
"Lan, Lan, hungry!"
Although it couldn't form a complete sentence, Roland understood what it meant.
"You can talk?"
Roland first gave it a surprised look, then spread the Gourmet Tablecloth on the table and smiled. "You should know how to use this. Eat whatever you want."
"Dorara—"
"Oh right, I forgot you're not fluent in speaking. How about dorayaki for dinner?"
"Dora, dora!"

The next morning, a thin mist filled the streets. Dewdrops condensed on the green leaves, then quietly fell.
After finishing breakfast, Roland pushed open the door and stepped onto the street. The little red Mini-Dora sat on his shoulder, holding a dorayaki, a blissful expression on its face.
"Good morning, Roland."
A gentle voice that soothed the soul came from behind. Roland turned around and saw Mirajane looking at him with a smile.
"Good morning," Roland replied with a smile. "Also, you look beautiful today too, Mira."
The white-haired girl before him was wearing a black dress, revealing a gemstone necklace that sparkled on her fair neck. Her soft, silk-like hair fell gently behind her.
"Oh my, you're quite the smooth talker," Mirajane pressed a finger to her moist lips and tilted her head coquettishly. "You must have deceived a lot of girls during your travels, right, Roland?"
"Not at all. I only say things like that to you, Mira."
Roland replied in a light tone.
"Dorara!"
Mini-Dora took a bite of its dorayaki and looked at the two of them with curiosity.
"This is..." Mirajane blinked and couldn't help but ask.
"A companion from my travels. We got separated a while ago and just found each other today."
"I see. How cute. —" Although she wanted to pet the cute little thing, Mirajane suppressed the impolite thought and continued, "Today is also your first day going on a quest, right, Roland?"
She remembered that Levy had registered a quest to repel bandits yesterday. The reward was only 120,000 J.
Compared to the strength Roland had displayed, that amount of money was pitifully small.
But—rather than repelling bandits, it's actually a travel date!
Mirajane thought to herself.
