Chapter 2 - Flower 02

Last time, Cyan only correctly guessed that Quinn was having trouble sleeping. However, his boss never explained why she was having trouble sleeping. However, from his guess, Quinn had been experiencing this problem for a long time, and it was related to the gray flower on her temple.

The Flower clearly shows a person's strength, both physical and mental, why does The Flower only bloom when someone is 16 years old? Many think The Flower is genetic, innate from birth, but no, the color that The Flower shows when it blooms shows how a person develops from childhood to the age of 16, not only physical development but also mental development.

So if there is someone who has a yellow flower and feels that it is all due to genetics or fate, and sees someone who has a red color with the same view, then from they mindset alone it shows that it is only fitting in class D. This is not fate, but a reflection of the efforts, determination, thoughts that have been shown by someone from childhood to adolescence. That is also the reason why the average military soldier is those who are in class B to S, it is because their thinking is different from those who have The Flower in class C and D, not because the military will only accept the best.

As for Quinn, Cyan was sure that if something had happened to the moment her Flower bloomed, Quinn would be in the worst and weakest condition, not only physically but also mentally.

Cyan sighed deeply for the umpteenth time. It was too cruel, as it was not uncommon for someone who didn't know Quinn well to make unkind comments about her, leading her to lock herself in her room rather than serve the customers herself. Yet, in terms of knowledge, no one could match Quinn.

Seeing his boss's increasingly tired face, Cyan closed the hologram in front of her. He smiled at the womens disapproving look. "Shouldn't you be meeting your uncle? It's getting late."

Looking at the clock, Quinn followed Cyan's words without much objection.

Quinn tore her eyes away from the still-open hologram when she arrived in front of a fairly large house far from the center of the Crescere Kingdom. Quinn walked through the various plants in the courtyard, along with a pond with a fountain that constantly emitted different colors with every step she took.

Upon arriving home, she was immediately greeted by her aunt, who only glanced at her. "Sister!" a little girl ran up to her and jumped. Luckily, Quinn caught her immediately.

"Quinn is not your sister, you can call her aunt or auntie," said her aunt from her seat, she did not look at her little daughter who was reluctant to let go of Quinn's embrace.

"It's okay. I don't mind being called big sister." The aunt remained silent. From where she stood, Quinn could see that the aunt was busy with her hologram.

"Auntie, is uncle home yet?" the young-looking woman mumbled a quick "hmm."

Not long after that, the uncle appeared, "Oh, Quinn is here. Have you eaten? Let's eat first." Quinn shook her head, she was only making a small visit, there was no need to linger.

"I already ate before coming." The uncle looked a little disappointed, but he could only ask Quinn to sit down in the living room immediately.

The aunt, who had initially seemed indifferent, also stood up and sat down next to her husband. Quinn knew that her aunt had always been cold and uncaring. Quinn understood that and didn't mind, after all, it was only on the surface, because her aunt didn't really hate her at all.

After the robot waiter delivered the drinks, the uncle glanced at her a few times without saying anything, tired of her husband's behavior, Yuer said, "If you don't say anything soon, then I will tell Quinn."

"No need. I'll do it."

After convincing himself, her uncle finally spoke. "Quinn, I've always considered you my own child. Even when my brother was still alive, you were like my first child before my little girl was born."

"I always want to give you the best, I also don't want to burden you and always hope you are happy and find happiness, then—"

"Honey… if you talk like that, Quinn will think you have bad intentions towards her." Yuer interrupted, annoyed by her husband's behavior. Yuer placed a large red envelope on the table. "This morning a letter from the noble Pan family arrived. The letter was addressed to you, but it was sent here because your uncle is still your legal guardian. Jacob Pan wants to ask you to be his wife," the uncle's wife was from a noble family, and his business also kept him connected with the nobles, and many of them were aware of Quinn's existence, but they had always ignored her. Quinn had always tried to stay out of sight. Then why now…

"This is not an invitation to participate in the election, but a proposal to become his wife?"

Yuer nodded, "I can't say you'll be his wife either because he's already legally married a woman from the Gun family, a high-ranking noble. It could be said that he wants you to be his fourth, or so, concubine?" There was a hint of displeasure in Yuer's voice, disgusted with Jacob Pan who had sent this letter. She almost burned it when it arrived.

"Even the king only has one wife and that is the queen." She muttered still not understanding Jacob's train of thought.

"You don't have to accept his offer. Jacob already has many concubines, he's also known for his violence, I don't want you to be with someone like that." It should have been like that, usually her uncle would sort out the letters or proposals that came before talking to her, but this time the uncle chose to talk about this even though he knew that Jacob wasn't a good person.

"Then is there anything you want to tell me, uncle?" The uncle fell silent again. He had always had a soft spot for Quinn; in his eyes, Quinn was still a little girl who would cry when she fell.

Yuer spoke up again. "Lately, people have been talking about you. Do you remember the last selection you participated in the Eywis family? The girl who was chosen ended up marrying Lian Eywis last month, and then she started talking about you. She said that a girl named Quinn Flos might never marry because no family would accept her. She had participated in almost all the noble family selections but was never chosen, while all the girls who also participated with her were immediately eyed by other families." Her aunt repeated what she had heard from that woman. Quinn could immediately imagine the tone and face of the that woman when she said that.
