Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Chaos Beast

Among the confiscated loot was a batch of data slates.

Qin Yun adjusted them, connecting the data slates to the bridge's data network.

This way, the data slates became the players' information terminals.

They could check information like their earned Contribution Points, tasks, etc.

Of course, to increase their level and skills, they still needed to go to the Emperor's shrine.

"This game is amazing, even the task interface has to be purchased yourself!! Sometimes, a game being too realistic isn't always a good thing!!"

Brother Ballsy complained, looking at the data slate with an exchange price as high as 10,000 points.

"You're absolutely right, it's just bullying the players."

When Little Chubby looked at Brother Ballsy, he spoke with righteous indignation.

But as soon as he turned around, he said fawning tone to Qin Yun, "Guide, I want one."

Brother Ballsy rolled his eyes, thoroughly despising the other.

"I want one too," Old Bird also raised his hand.

Ten-times jumped up and shouted, "I want one too!"

"Me too." Seeing that others were exchanging, Brother Ballsy couldn't be bothered with complaining and hurriedly asked for one too.

Little Chubby quickly got the hang of it, unlocking the functions that came with the data slate.

"This thing even comes with the internal structural map of the ship and positioning. Checking Contribution Points and tasks is just a bonus. Getting it is a steal!"

Ten-times nodded in agreement. "With this thing, doing tasks will give us an advantage."

"The first-mover advantage is great. A step ahead means staying ahead all the way," Old Bird said sincerely.

The data slates were limited. Qin Yun needed to keep a few spares, so he couldn't give one to everyone.

Those who exchanged for one were all laughing happily.

Those who didn't get one were beating their chests and stamping their feet.

Wailing at missing the chance to experience Warhammer tech.

After equipping the veteran players.

Qin Yun led them to the Prayer Chapel to welcome the new batch of the Emperor's new corporate slaves.

Prayer Chapel.

Thirty bright golden rays of light appeared, then slowly dissipated.

Thirty players appeared neatly in front of the Emperor's statue.

Sun Yi opened his eyes, looked around, and his dazed gaze gradually replaced by intense astonishment.

A servo-skull happened to be flying past him, trailing prayer scriptures.

The anti-gravity engine at its bottom scattered azure light and emitted a humming sound.

'Th-this is Warhammer OL?''

The metallic walls and floor.

The technological constructs around were rich with religious elements.

Taking a deep breath, he could smell incense and fuel oil.

It's so damn realistic.

"This game is freaking awesome!!"

"Oh my God, my Emperor!"

"..."

The players entering the game were very excited, jumping around.

One even banged his head against a pillar, got a big bump, didn't yell in pain, and just kept giggling foolishly.

"Wow, so realistic."

Sun Yi looked towards the source of the female voice and saw a girl with short white hair.

"A Warhammer fan girl??"

The other players also turned to look.

"Could it be someone playing a female character?"

"That can't be right. This game doesn't seem to let you choose gender or customize appearance. This person really is a girl."

At that moment, an authoritative voice sounded.

"Quiet."

Instantly, silence fell.

The players' gazes instinctively turned towards the source of the sound.

A tall, sturdy man with a bolt pistol and power sword hanging at his waist walked in from the doorway.

Behind him followed over a dozen veteran players wearing crude armor and holding lasguns.

The new players had all read [Output to Slaanesh Ten Times a Night's guide].

They knew the one at the front was the Emperor's Living Saint and their Guide.

Qin Yun walked in front of the new players, scanned them, then slowly spoke.

"Welcome to hell, you worthless currencies of the Emperor."

"I am the Guide, the Emperor's Chosen Saint."

"The Despoiler destroyed the Fortress World of Cadia. The Eye of Terror lost control, tearing the galaxy asunder."

"A terrible Age of Darkness has fallen once more. Human civilization hangs by a thread. Countless innocent people are plunged into despair and fear. The heavy burden of saving them falls upon your shoulders."

After finishing his opening lines, Qin Yun didn't continue.

There was a guide in the group, plus veteran players to lead them.

No need to waste time explaining those basic knowledge.

"Now, our mission is to reclaim the Imperial Glory."

"Currently, we have retaken the bridge area. Next, we will reclaim the other areas."

"You can choose a squad to join and follow the veterans in their actions."

"Learn from them how to blow the enemies' heads off."

Qin Yun waved his hand, and the three squad leaders, Old Bird, Brother Ballsy, and Little Chubby, stepped forward and stood before the new players.

Thirty new players, exactly ten added to each squad.

One veteran player leading two new players.

The squads were quickly assigned.

Qin Yun had people distribute weapons like wrenches and water pipes to the new players.

"Not even giving us a gun?" Manbun (Manbun is the Mark of a True Badass) looked somewhat speechless at the water pipe in his hand.

Little Chubby explained, "You'll be responsible for moving corpses in the early stage. If you want weapons, slowly save up Contribution Points to exchange for them."

"We fought our way out of the strategic planning room with these back then," Old Bird said.

"Our situation was much worse than yours is now."

"You are free to do whatever for ten minutes," Qin Yun ignored the players' complaints. "Later, we will carry out clearing tasks."

After letting the new players familiarize themselves with their bodies and the rules,

Qin Yun led the players through the ship's corridors towards the Mechanicus Shrine.

The mutants along the way couldn't stir up any waves; they were harvested all the way, all becoming Contribution Points and experience.

The team soon arrived at the large door of the Mechanicus Shrine, adorned with skull and gear reliefs.

After entering the password, the door slowly opened amidst the sound of turning gears and the hum of servo-motors.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Dense lasers poured out from inside the Shrine.

Several players who wanted to charge at the front were instantly shot dead.

The other players hurriedly took cover.

The sound of treads grinding over the metal floor echoed.

A giant monster, a mix of metal and flesh, slowly drove out from the Shrine.

Its face was ferocious and horrifying due to implanted metal prosthetics.

Its hands were also modified; one was implanted with a high-speed rotating chainsword.

The other was replaced with a multi-las.

Its eyes were gouged out, replaced with mechanical eyes that glowed green.

Its lower body was replaced by a heavy chassis with metal treads.

"It's a war-servitor modified by the tech-priests!" Ten-times frowned. "The firepower it has is fierce!!"

As soon as he finished speaking, dense lasers again came like a storm.

Absolutely suppressing the players.

A few players were swept by the fire, dying on the spot, a miserable sight.

"I'm hit, help me."

Manbun was a bit slow to hide and now had seven or eight steaming holes in his body.

The next second, the war-servitor was behind him.

The high-speed rotating chainsword fiercely pierced through his body, tearing him to shreds.

"Give it a plasma shot!" Old Bird, hiding behind a pillar, shouted.

"Okay." Scalpy leaned out and fired his plasma gun.

With a sizzling electric sound, a shining plasma ball flew out, tracing a bright trajectory through the air and accurately hitting the target.

The upper body of that war-servitor was instantly vaporized.

The out-of-control chassis treads crashed into the wall with a loud bang.

"Did you fall before I even used my full strength?"

Scalpy ran out from behind cover and stood next to the war-servitor's remains, showing off.

The next second, a sharp whistling sound was heard.

His head was blown to pieces with a bang.

Several more equally massive war-servitors drove out from the Shrine, attacking the players.

Armed servo-skulls equipped with stubbers swept out from behind them, also wildly pouring fire at the players.

Soon, a few more players were shot dead.

"What the hell did those tech-priests hide in this Shrine!!"

Little Chubby, hiding behind cover, felt his scalp go numb seeing the Chaos servitors and servo-skulls.

The enemy's firepower was too fierce; they simply couldn't fight back.

"What do we do now?" Brother Ballsy shouted. "We get turned into sieves the moment we go out!"

"Let's use the old method," Old Bird said, strapping Melta bombs to himself.

Just then, Qin Yun arrived.

He seized the opportunity, charging out from a nearby cover.

The power sword in his hand easily pierced the heavy armor of a war-servitor.

Oil and blood spurted out together.

Amidst flashing sparks, it crashed to the ground.

"DAAMNN the Guide is awesome!"

The suppressed players cheered.

Qin Yun executed several servitors in a row, then used his boltgun to blow up those servo-skulls.

Suddenly, a war-servitor charged out from the shadows, aiming its gun at Qin Yun.

Just as Qin Yun was about to dodge, he heard a shout.

"The spellcaster has arrived!"

Ten-times, from a distance, activated [Warp Siphon], drawing Warp energy.

He condensed a bright, crystal-like ethereal shard between his palms and threw it at the war-servitor.

The ethereal shard traced a bright trajectory through the air.

It hit the war-servitor's head, piercing right through it.

Viscous lubricant and blood with a foul stench gushed out.

Then, the massive body crashed down.

"Awesome!" Old Bird peeked out, shouting excitedly.

"Really fierce," Brother Ballsy also gave a thumbs-up.

"Psykers are truly the top-tier class this version."

Little Chubby showed an envious expression.

As the last armed servo-skull was blown up, the battle was declared over.

Qin Yun led the players into the Mechanicus Shrine.

It was very spacious inside, with a huge statue of the Omnissiah towering in the central area.

Next to the statue were metal platforms emitting the glow of stasis fields.

Various ancient mechanical constructs were placed within the stasis fields.

The corpulent Tech-Priest and his servants lay fallen inside the Shrine.

Their bodies bore wounds from lasers and bolts.

The Machine Spirit of the Mechanicus Shrine had activated the protection protocol at the first sign of crisis, killing everyone.

After a few minutes of silence for the dead, Qin Yun checked the weapons and equipment in the Shrine.

He unexpectedly found a suit of power armor suitable for mortals to wear.

[Name: Arkan Confederate Power Armor

This is an ancient relic, used by multiple heroes. Loyalty and fearless conviction are fused within the steel.

Damage reduction against Chaos attacks.

"The Emperor watches you. Remember, don't wear the helmet, lest He fails to recognize you."]

In the armory of the Mechanicus Shrine, several mechanical arms helped Qin Yun put on the power armor.

Qin Yun tried moving.

He found the design of the power armor was extremely exquisite.

The synthetic muscle bundles fit his body perfectly.

Coupled with the picosecond-level response of the servo-motors.

It made his movements smooth and effortless, more powerful and agile.

"Good, stronger again."

Qin Yun walked out of the armory.

His new appearance made the players' eyes light up.

The power armor had a deep red paint job, decorated with gold lines.

Worn by Qin Yun, just looking at it gave a sense of intimidation.

"Boltgun, power sword, power armor. This is the standard Warhammer outfit. So cool!"

"I want it too."

"When will we achieve power armor freedom?"

"I strongly demand that power armor be made available for purchase. I'll buy it out!"

"..."

There were quite a few good items in the Mechanicus Shrine.

To speed up the progress of reclaiming the Imperial Glory, Qin Yun had the players change into the equipment and weapons from the Mechanicus Shrine.

If they didn't have enough Contribution Points, they could owe it.

They just needed to make up the difference within a week.

"Praise the Living Saint!"

"Guide is the only sun in my heart!"

The players cheered upon hearing Qin Yun's words.

Then, they completely divided up the equipment in the Shrine.

The players who obtained new equipment saw their combat power increase significantly, and their advancement speed also became much faster.

In the following time, the players quickly reclaimed areas like the ship's armory, ammunition depot, and crew quarters.

They were only stopped again when they reached the reactor chamber.

Because there was a Chaos Beast there.
