Chapter 2 - Dying Daylight

Scene 1: Dying Daylight

The sun hangs low on the horizon, casting long shadows across the desolate landscape. Eren Vane lies on his back, barely clinging to life. His chest heaves with shallow breaths, and his eyes flutter open. The world around him is a blur of movement and sound.

Eren Vane (whispering): Where... where am I?

His vision slowly clears, revealing a flickering campfire a few feet away. A figure sits cross-legged, watching him intently. Eren recognizes the woman's presence but struggles to form coherent thoughts.

Lyra Kael (gruffly, but with a hint of concern): You're finally awake. What took you so long? I thought you were a goner for a moment there.

Eren tries to sit up, but his body feels like lead. He clutches his chest, where a strange, pulsing energy seems to be thrumming beneath his skin.

Eren Vane (struggling to speak): Who... who are you?

Lyra sighs, shifting her gaze to the scattered remnants of the battle. Corpses litter the ground, their crude weapons and tattered clothing stark against the barren landscape.

Lyra Kael (slightly softer): Name's Lyra. I'm a scavenger. Found you lying there, about to be picked clean by the others. Lucky for you, I'm not the type to leave good loot to rot.

Eren's mind races. He recalls fragments of the battle—the sudden attack, the flashes of pain, the feeling of something powerful coursing through him. But his memories are fragmented, like shards of glass.

Eren Vane (weakly): Scavenger? You... you saved me?

Lyra Kael: Yeah, saved your skin. Now, eat. You look like you could use it.

She tosses him a small leather bag. Inside, Eren finds strips of dried meat and a flask of water. He grabs it and starts eating, his hunger overwhelming his doubts.

Scene 2: The Heart of the Matter

Once Eren has finished eating, Lyra sits down beside him. The campfire crackles softly, casting a warm glow on their faces.

Lyra Kael (matter-of-factly): Look, kid, you've got a relic in you. I've never seen anything like it.

Eren's eyes widen. He places his hand on his chest, feeling the pulsing energy beneath his skin. It's like a living thing, a power that he can barely control.

Eren Vane: A relic? But... how?

Lyra Kael (shrugging): Who knows? Maybe you're the chosen one or something. But I'm not here to philosophize. I've got a business to run, and you're gonna make it interesting.

She gestures to a worn leather bag at her side. Eren glances inside, seeing a collection of relics—strange, otherworldly objects that glow with an unearthly light.

Lyra Kael: See those? They're the reason I'm still alive. And now, I've got you. A walking relic. A relic that's alive.

Eren's curiosity turns to fear. He remembers flashes of a past life—soldiers, training, a figure named Eldric.

Eren Vane: Eldric... Eldric!

Lyra Kael: Who's Eldric?

Eren Vane: He... he trained me. He said I was the one who could stop the relic abominations. But I don't remember anything.

Lyra Kael: Abominations? You mean the things that roam the wastelands? Yeah, I've seen them. They're the remnants of dead gods, and they're not something you want to mess with. But you're different. You're glowing. You're... alive.

Eren Vane: But why? Why am I alive?

Lyra Kael: Maybe you're the key. Or maybe you're the problem. Either way, you're in over your head.

She stands up, stretching her arms. The moonlight casts a shadow over her face, making her look both weary and determined.

Lyra Kael: Now, come on. We've got to get you somewhere safe before the Church finds out about you.

Scene 3: The Past Unravels

As Eren and Lyra travel through the desolate landscape, Eren's memories begin to flood back. He sees flashes of himself as a young soldier, training with a group of elite warriors. The leader of the group is a stern-faced man named Eldric.

Eldric (voice booming): Remember, Eren, the relics are not to be trifled with. They are fragments of dead gods, and they hold immense power. You must learn to control it, or it will control you.

Eren nods, his eyes focused on the relic in his hands. It glows with an otherworldly light, and he can feel its power pulsing through his veins.

Eldric: You are the Chosen One, Eren. You hold the key to stopping the relic abominations. But beware, the Church of Ascension will stop at nothing to get their hands on your relic.

Eren looks up, his face filled with determination. He knows that he must find a way to harness this power, but he also realizes that he is not alone. The Church is hunting him, and they will stop at nothing to take what they want.

---

Scene 4: The Hunt Begins

As dusk falls, Eren and Lyra set up camp in the ruins of an old fortress. They light a small fire and eat a meager meal. Lyra keeps a watchful eye on the surroundings, her hand on the hilt of her knife.

Lyra Kael: We need to move. The Church will be hot on our trail. They've already sent scouts after you.

Eren Vane: How do you know?

Lyra Kael: Because I saw them. They're good at what they do, but they're not the only ones who know how to track relics.

Suddenly, there's a rustling in the bushes. Eren and Lyra tense, their weapons at the ready. A group of scouts from the Church of Ascension emerges from the shadows.

Church Scout 1: There he is! The relic bearer!

Church Scout 2: Kill him!

The scouts charge, their weapons raised. Eren instinctively unleashes a burst of power, knocking the scouts back. The energy surges through him, filling him with a sense of strength and purpose.

Eren Vane: You're not taking me alive!

But he quickly realizes that he cannot fully control the power. The energy is too great, and it threatens to consume him. He stumbles back, gasping for breath.

Lyra Kael: Shit! Eren, hold on!

She grabs him by the arm and drags him away from the scouts. They make a run for it, their hearts pounding as they race through the ruins.

Church Scout 1: We'll find him! We'll get our relic back!

Church Scout 2: And then we'll destroy him!

Eren and Lyra disappear into the darkness, their journey only just beginning.

---

Scene 5: Dawn of Destiny

Eren stands at the edge of a cliff, looking out at the endless horizon. The sun has just risen, casting a golden glow over the landscape. He feels the pulsing energy coursing through his veins, but this time, he is more in control.

Eren Vane: If this power is a curse... then let the cursed survive.

He turns to Lyra, who is standing beside him, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and respect.

Eren Vane: We're not going to stop. We're going to find Eldric, and we're going to stop the Church. I have to do this. I have to save the world.

Lyra Kael: And if you don't? If you can't control this power?

Eren Vane: Then I'll die trying. But I won't let the world be consumed by those abominations.

He takes a deep breath, feeling the energy within him surge to a new level. He knows that the path ahead will be dangerous, but he is ready. Ready to face whatever comes his way.

The camera pulls back, revealing the ruins in the distance, the flickering campfire, and the two figures standing at the edge of the world.

Fade to black.
