Chapter 41 - It Is Time For Juice (I)

Marinette opened the cupboard above her vanity and took out a square bottle that glowed with a deep amber hue. She set it on the table while Jason sat in the upholstered chair in the corner, watching as she arranged two glasses beside the bottle.

With a playful smile, she whispered to herself:

"A good glass of whiskey always makes my day better, whether it's been good or bad — it's the perfect reward or cure."

When she removed the cap, a soft click signaled the start of their evening.

She poured a measure for him first. The liquid caught the light from the lamp, casting a warm glow across the glass. She poured a little less for herself, though Jason noticed from the way she looked at the bottle that she wanted more. She sat on the edge of her bed, offering a small, genuine smile before crossing her legs, which accentuated her alluring silhouette.

"Tell me about your week," she said calmly to begin the conversation. "Your messages were brief, so I figured you've been busy."
