Chapter 6 - Level Two Team

"A new team member just arrived; I'm going to process his enlistment paperwork." Wang Zhi explained the situation quickly.

"I see...." Ying murmured briefly and said no more.

Wang Zhi, who had been waiting for Ying to press further, grew confused when she stopped talking: "Aren't you curious who it is?"

Hearing this, Ying flashed a cunning smile: "No matter who it is, they only have eyes for you...."

"...."

Wang Zhi played along with Ying, forcing a couple of dry laughs. If he didn't know this girl was a mercenary killer, he would actually damn well think he was falling in love!

He even suspected that this person before him could kill with a smile on her face.

"It's Fatty, bringing five boxes of luggage."

Wang Zhi didn't keep her waiting and volunteered the information.

"Five boxes?" Ying's delicate eyebrows raised slightly, seeming to have picked up some interest.

"That's right; our supplies just got significantly richer. By the way, Sister Ying, have you seen Old He?"

"Uncle? He's lifting iron in the training hall; quite diligent."

"Good. We'll call him over in a bit, and we can go see the newcomer together."

The two arrived at the administrative office on the first floor. Along the way, Wang Zhi, accompanied by a beauty like Ying, drew such high rates of turning heads that he almost doubted his own life choices.

Even upon reaching the administrative office, some teams who considered themselves quite capable stepped forward to try and poach personnel.

Fortunately, Ying didn't use him as a human shield again as she had before; instead, she opted for ignoring him—an action that caused minimal physical harm but was extremely insulting.

This unexpectedly brought Wang Zhi great relief. If the previous situation had continued, he swore he would quickly become a public enemy.

The administrative office was not busy, and they managed to process Li Feihong's team application in a short while.

After returning to the second floor to find Old He, the three of them went back to the room together.

*Beep~* Wang Zhi swiped his card to enter the room. He saw Fatty lying on the bed eating snacks while casually watching a movie on the Ling Lingyao, enjoying himself immensely.

"Whoa, I say, Fatty, you really know how to enjoy life," Wang Zhi teased, looking at the leisurely Fatty.

"Wow! Where did this beauty come from? Hello, beautiful! My name is Li Feihong—Feihong as in the 'Fei Hong' of Wong Fei Hung. What should I call you, beautiful?"

Fatty turned, saw Ying entering, and immediately jumped off the bed with a clumsy roll. While introducing himself, he tried to grab her hand.

"Ah! Ouch! Ouch! Help! I won't do it again! I was wrong!"

Just as Fatty was about to touch Ying's hand, Wang Zhi's vision blurred for a moment. Fatty was instantly thrown onto the ground by Ying. When he recovered, he found Ying holding one of his arms with one hand and stepping on his back with one foot, causing Fatty to beg repeatedly in pain.

"Sister Ying, he doesn't know any better." Wang Zhi saw that Fatty's arm was about to be broken and quickly spoke up to intercede.

Ying flung Fatty's arm away with one hand and calmly sat back down on her bunk.

This was the first time Wang Zhi had seen Ying take action. Ever since they met, he had always held her in awe. If he had acted recklessly, his fate probably wouldn't have been much better than Fatty's, considering she was someone capable of killing.

Wang Zhi walked to Fatty's side and helped him up. Fatty was already crying by this point, it was unclear if it was from grievance or pain.

"They are members of the team. Sister Ying was the one teaching you a lesson, and the one next to her is Big Brother He." Wang Zhi introduced the two to Fatty.

"Don't feel wronged," Wang Zhi persuaded Fatty again. "Sister Ying is doing this for your own good. It's never wrong to be low-key and honest. This place isn't like outside where the law protects you. Go apologize to Sister Ying quickly."

Fatty stood frozen, sobbing for a moment, then hobbled over to stand before Ying.

At that moment, Ying was swinging her legs crossed, idly playing with the Dagger in her hand, staring at Fatty with a smiling expression.

"S-sorry, Sister Ying! I was presumptuous just now, I hope you can forgive me." Fatty said, bowing his head to admit his mistake.

"Not bad, the child can be taught. Go get some rest," Ying said, pointing the tip of her dagger toward the bed nearby.

Wang Zhi, standing behind them, silently gave Fatty a thumbs-up in his heart. A true man knows when to bend and when to stand firm; he knew when to chicken out.

"Hehe, thank you for forgiving me, Sister Ying. Hello, Big Brother He, my name is Li Feihong. I lost my composure just now, please excuse me, excuse me," Fatty said cheerfully, extending his hand toward Old He.

Old He glanced at Fatty's hand, which had just been used to wipe his nose, twitched the corner of his mouth, then patted Fatty twice on the shoulder. "Welcome aboard."

"Fatty, your entry into the team has been processed. Make sure you keep this Magnetic Card safe; don't show it to anyone except our own people."

After returning the Magnetic Card to Fatty, Wang Zhi immediately provided a detailed explanation of the situation at Dawn Tower.

After finishing the briefing, he remembered the harsh words the Scarlet Flame Team Captain had directed at him earlier, so he instructed Ling Lingyao to check the Scarlet Flame Team's data.

Scarlet Flame Team: Level Two Team, Captain: Zhao Yang, Team Members: 5 people.

"Level Two Team? Ling Lingyao, tell me the promotion requirements for team levels."

To be promoted to a Level Two Team, the team's total Survival Points acquisition must exceed 1000 points.

To be promoted to a Level Three Team, the team's total Survival Points acquisition must exceed 10,000 points.

To be promoted to a Level Four Team, the team's total Survival Points acquisition must exceed 50,000 points.

Promotion to a Level Five Team requires authorization from the Tower Master.

After reviewing the promotion requirements, Wang Zhi roughly calculated that if the four of them trained a cumulative total of 16 hours per day, they would earn 80 Survival Points daily. If they didn't eat or drink and just trained relentlessly, they could reach Level Two Team status in 13 days. Thinking of this, he breathed a sigh of relief; the gap didn't seem too large.

"What's up with that Scarlet Flame Team?" Old He approached and asked after seeing Wang Zhi's query.

"Ugh, don't even mention it. That Zhao Yang was harassing Sister Ying, trying to get her to join their team. When I refused, I guess I offended them," Wang Zhi shrugged.

Old He listened, then turned to look at Ying, seeming to guess what had happened.

"Don't go wandering around by yourself recently," Old He said lightly before returning to his bed to rest.

"I know."

Wang Zhi responded and walked over to Fatty's luggage, saying, "Fatty, come here and open your luggage. I want to see what supplies you brought."

"Got it, Captain Wang."

After Wang Zhi waited for Fatty to open the combination lock on the suitcase, his mouth twitched. Good heavens, it was five full boxes of food!

Instant noodles, biscuits, chips, bean products, bread, drinks, and even three cartons of Huazi cigarettes.

"Fatty, does your family own a supermarket?" Wang Zhi asked, somewhat perplexed.

"Not exactly. I'm an auto mechanic," Fatty replied, scratching his head.

"I thought so too, otherwise you'd lose money running a supermarket," Wang Zhi teased.

"Captain, you misunderstood. My size is due to my physique; I really don't eat that much. Food is the most important thing in the apocalypse, which is why I brought so much."

"Hmm, what you said is right, but not entirely. What if Sister Ying took your food, how would you handle it?"

Hearing this, Fatty's expression changed, showing fear: "You... you aren't planning to kill me, are you?"

Fatty's words made Wang Zhi pause for a moment. "What are you talking about? Are we those kinds of people? Besides, we have food of our own." After speaking, he pointed toward the cabinet in the corner.

"Phew, that's good. You scared me to death."

"What I mean is, *we* wouldn't do it, but that doesn't mean *others* won't. I'm setting a task for you: go out every day to train harder. You'll need to fight in the future."

"Roger that!" Fatty snapped to attention on the spot and awkwardly saluted him.

Wang Zhi found the other party amusing and almost laughed; this Fatty was too comical...
