Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Match and Glimpse into the Past

College – Football Ground

A match was going on and everyone was playing with full energy. Nivan tried to take a tricky pass but slipped and got a minor injury.

Nivan (in pain): "Ayy! It hurts…"

Ruhan immediately came to him and gently started holding his foot: Ruhan:"Hey man, you okay? Let's apply some medicine."

Nivan said, a little shyly: "It's nothing… just a minor injury…"

Ruhan took cream from his first-aid kit and bandaged it, carefully tending to his foot.

Nivan (smiling slightly): "Thanks, Ruhan…" Ruhan:"Hey, this is what friends are for, don't worry."

Ishika was watching this moment. She raised her eyebrows slightly and thought quietly: Ishika:"Hmm… why does Ruhan keep coming to Nivan?"

Neerav and Anvesh both came over from the side with water, looking worried: Neerav:"Nivan, you okay, right?" Anvesh:"Yeah, don't strain too much, we'll continue the match later."

Kavya, Nisha, and Sadhya were also making Nivan sit on a chair with little laughs and jokes. The support of all the friends was clearly felt.

Nivan smiled slightly and took the ball back. The match started again, everyone went back to their positions, cheering and joking.

: A Glimpse into the Past

Scene: Dr. Bhargav's Clinic

The next day, Nivan woke up early without telling anyone and set out for Dr. Bhargav's clinic. His heart was pounding—he was finally going to learn the secret of his dreams.

As soon as he entered the clinic, he said breathlessly, "Sorry Doctor, I didn't have time yesterday..."

Dr. Bhargav replied calmly, "It's okay, Nivan. Today we will do your therapy and hypnosis. Ready?"

"Okay, Doctor," Nivan said in a nervous voice.

"Come, lie down here." Dr. Bhargav pointed to a special chair.

Nivan lay down on the chair. Dr. Bhargav used a pendulum and some strange instruments to put him into a hypnotic state.

"Tell me, Nivan, what do you see in your dreams? Why do you see them? Tell me in detail..." Dr. Bhargav's voice was slow and compelling.

Under hypnosis, Nivan spoke, "I... I see many dreams every day... where someone keeps burning someone else..."

"Remember carefully, Nivan, tell me in detail what you see?"

"I see... a boy... his clothes are black... he looks like he's a king or prince from somewhere... he has long hair, a radiant face, tall and broad, in royal attire, a small crown on his head and a sword at his waist... a tilak on his forehead and a small locket around his neck... a red thread on his wrist... he smiles at me as if..."

"Tell me more, Nivan, what else do you see?"

"And... and I see that... I am in an old Gurukul... I am wearing beautiful clothes like a merchant, which are white and golden... I am receiving education there... and... and that same boy is there with me, the one who cuts his own throat in my dreams... and we are together in the Gurukul... horse riding... and I... I fell from the horse down a hill... Save me! Save me!"

"Nivan, get up! Nivan, get up! Come back! Nivan, get up!" Dr. Bhargav quickly brought him out of hypnosis.

The doctor splashed water on his face. Nivan suddenly sat up, panicked and drenched in sweat.

"Doctor... what happened?" Nivan asked, panting.

"You saw something you couldn't handle, Nivan. You saw yourself... and you fell down a hill. You got scared from there and started screaming."

"Did I fall from a hill?" Nivan said in surprise.

"Yes, Nivan, that's what you saw. Don't panic. You go rest now. We'll do the next session later, okay?"

"Okay, Doctor." Nivan got up and left the clinic.

As soon as he stepped out, he crecked his phone—there were many missed calls from Ruhan. He quickly headed towards the hostel.
