Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Klee’s Backpack Confiscated, Albedo: That's Not My Bomb

Acting Grand Master Jean's office.

Klee stood with her head bowed, obediently in front of Acting Grand Master Jean's desk, her small hands tightly gripping the corner of her clothes, appearing exceptionally well-behaved.

Her clear, bright eyes secretly glanced at Acting Grand Master Jean, then quickly lowered her head again, looking as if she wanted to admit her mistake but dared not speak.

Jean, who had been reviewing documents with her head down, looked up and saw Klee standing before her. Her eyebrows raised slightly, and her gaze was full of suspicion.

"Klee?"

Jean put down the documents in her hand, her tone carrying a hint of surprise: "You actually came to admit your mistake on your own? Did the sun rise from the west?"

Klee bit her lip, looked up at Acting Grand Master Jean, then quickly lowered her head, and whispered, "Klee… Klee knows she was wrong."

Her voice was as soft as a mosquito's hum, but her words were full of sincerity.

When Jean heard this, her expression was filled with even more surprise.

One should know that usually, after Klee caused trouble, she would either hide or feign ignorance.

When did she ever come to admit her mistake so actively and honestly?

This was truly an unprecedented scene.

Acting Grand Master Jean took a deep breath, her tone softening a little: "So, are you going to tell me what happened with the explosion at Cider Lake?"

"It… it was Klee's bomb…"

Klee's voice grew even smaller, her small hands anxiously twisting her clothes: "Klee… Klee accidentally threw a bomb into the lake, and then, and then…"

"And then the explosion at Cider Lake directly alerted the city defense?"

Jean cut in coldly, her tone carrying an unquestionable authority.

When Klee heard this, she shrank her shoulders and quickly nodded in admission, "I'm sorry! Klee really knows she was wrong! Klee didn't mean to…"

Jean looked deeply at Klee, but her heart secretly let out a sigh of relief.

The explosion at Cider Lake had startled the entire city of Mondstadt. She had thought it was a monster attack, or even feared a plot by the Abyss Order.

It turned out, after all that fuss, it was just Klee's bomb.

While this was a headache, at least it wasn't an urgent life-or-death crisis.

"Alright, since you've admitted your mistake, I'll deal with it a bit more leniently."

Jean rubbed her forehead, then clapped her hands, summoning a Knights of Favonius: "Take Klee to report to the confinement room."

"Confinement?!"

Klee's eyes widened instantly, her small face filled with unwillingness: "Klee has already admitted her mistake, Acting Grand Master Jean, can Klee not be confined this time?"

Jean's eyebrow raised, and she looked at her coldly, "The explosion at Cider Lake not only startled the Knights of Favonius but also triggered the city defense alarm. Do you know what that means? Do you know how many people we mobilized to investigate? Even if you actively admit your mistake, you absolutely cannot be let off easily this time."

When Klee heard this, the expression on her face immediately fell.

But she quickly looked up again, asking pitifully, "Then… then how long will I be confined? Klee really doesn't want to be confined for too long, Klee will be obedient…"

Jean's mouth twitched slightly, but she still said calmly, "Seven days."

"Seven days?!"

Klee's eyes widened even more, and she almost jumped up: "That's too long! Before, it was only three days at most!"

"This time is different."

Jean crossed her arms, her tone still stern: "The explosion at Cider Lake has already affected Mondstadt's city defense. The Stormterror disaster just passed, and now such a big incident has occurred. Do you still think seven days is long? If you talk back again, it'll be ten days."

Klee's mouth opened and closed, but in the end, she dared not say anything more, only lowering her head dejectedly and whispering, "Seven days it is… Klee will be good…"

"Also."

Jean raised her hand, pointing to the large backpack behind Klee: "Your backpack must also be temporarily confiscated. Bombs absolutely cannot be brought into the confinement room."

"Ah?"

Klee hugged her backpack in shock: "No!"

"Those are Klee's treasures!"

"Klee will be very bored without bombs…"

"Klee."

Jean's gaze grew colder: "Don't make me repeat myself."

Klee made a bitter face, carefully placed her backpack on the table, touched it with a reluctant expression, and mumbled, "Alright, alright, Klee understands… But, Acting Grand Master Jean, you must take good care of them, don't lose my bombs!"

"Don't worry, no one will touch your bombs."

Jean rubbed her temples and waved her hand: "Go to the confinement room quickly, don't cause any more trouble."

Klee walked out dejectedly with the Knights of Favonius, looking back at her backpack before leaving, her face full of reluctance and grievance.

She mumbled as she walked, "Seven days is so long, Klee will really be good…"

"Klee really wants to come out early to fish with bombs…"

Jean watched Klee's retreating figure and sighed deeply, "This child always gives people a headache…"

"So it was Klee who caused the commotion."

Acting Grand Master Jean was still sighing when a low, light laugh suddenly came from outside the door.

With the soft creak of the door hinges, a figure pushed the door open and walked in.

Familiar brown-blonde hair gleamed slightly in the sunlight.

He wore a white hooded coat, and the Vision on his neck swayed gently with his movements.

The person who arrived was Albedo, Mondstadt's Chief Alchemist and leader of the investigation team.

He was still holding an open notebook, apparently having just recorded something.

A faint smile hung on his face, and his gaze swept over Acting Grand Master Jean, carrying a hint of helplessness.

"I thought it was a monster attack."

Albedo casually closed his notebook, his tone carrying a hint of teasing: "It turns out Klee caused trouble again. This time the commotion was really not small, I was even thinking of coming out to help."

Acting Grand Master Jean looked at Albedo and shook her head helplessly: "This time it's not just a small problem. The area around Cider Lake has been blown to smithereens, and even the city defense was alerted."

"Albedo, shouldn't you make fewer bombs for Klee in the future?"

"Me?"

Albedo was stunned for a moment, then his brow furrowed slightly, revealing a puzzled expression: "My bombs?"

Jean nodded: "Besides you, who else would provide Klee with bombs? The impact this time is not small, you should also pay attention."

However, Albedo's expression became somewhat serious.

He tucked the notebook under his arm, raised his hand to push back the hair from his forehead, and said earnestly, "No… I haven't made any bombs for Klee recently."

"And even the bombs I gave her before could absolutely not cause such widespread destruction as today."

When Acting Grand Master Jean heard this, she was slightly startled.

Her gaze lingered on Albedo's face for a moment.

Apparently surprised by his reaction, she asked, "You mean, this bomb… isn't your work?"

"It shouldn't be."

Albedo shook his head, his tone calm and precise: "I understand my bombs. Their power is precisely calculated and will not exceed a specific range."

"The explosion from Cider Lake today was not only widespread but also had destructive power beyond my imagination."

"I even thought it was a monster siege, or that a powerful Pyro monster had appeared, which is why I came out to check."

"It was only after hearing your words that I realized it was caused by Klee's bombs."

"But my bombs wouldn't cause such a huge commotion."

"Either someone tampered with Klee's bombs, or Klee wasn't using my bombs at all."
