Chapter 3 - Chapter three:The smiles before the strom.

The morning sun stretched its golden rays over the Kingdom of Lumeria, spilling warmth through the small window of Kairo's room. Birds chirped cheerfully, the streets below already alive with merchants and chatter.

"Good morning, big bro!" Luna's voice burst through the door before Kairo could even rub his eyes. She jumped onto his bed, wrapping her small arms around him with her usual bright smile.

"L-Luna! You're too energetic for morning…" Kairo yawned, trying not to fall back asleep.

From the other side of the room came a grumbling voice. "Can you two not shout first thing in the morning?" Rinn mumbled, dragging his blanket over his face.

Luna giggled. "Someone's grumpy."

"Someone's loud," Rinn shot back, his voice muffled under the sheets.

Kairo couldn't help but laugh at the two. Their morning chaos had already become a routine, a strange but heartwarming start to every day.

Luna suddenly gasped, eyes sparkling. "Big bro! You promised we'd go buy me new clothes today!"

Kairo blinked, remembering his promise. "Ah, right… I didn't forget," he said, smiling sheepishly.

That single sentence made Luna's eyes light up like a festival lantern.

As they prepared, Rinn stretched and smirked. "You know what? Since it's the weekend, why don't we go to the beach? The one near where I found you, Kairo."

"The beach?" Luna clasped her hands, eyes shining. "Yes, yes! Let's go!"

Kairo chuckled. "Alright, sounds fun."

They stopped first at a clothing store in the market district. The shop was filled with bright fabrics and cheerful chatter. Luna ran from one rack to another, her excitement contagious.

"Hmm… what do you think of this?" Rinn held up a swimsuit—one clearly meant for adults.

Kairo's face turned red instantly. "What are you doing?! That's way too much!"

"But it's stylish!" Rinn argued.

Luna peeked from behind a rack. "No way! I'd never wear that!"

The two boys started bickering like children while the shopkeeper looked on, trying not to laugh. Eventually, Luna found a simple, cute dress and twirled in front of them.

Kairo smiled. "That one suits you perfectly."

Her cheeks flushed pink. "Really? You think so?"

"Yeah," he said softly, and Rinn rolled his eyes. "Ugh, you two are gonna make me sick."

After shopping, Luna insisted on buying snacks for the trip. The three wandered through the market square, the scent of baked bread and fruit filling the air. But among the busy crowd, a few eyes followed Luna carefully—three men dressed as merchants, whispering to each other.

When Kairo and Rinn noticed Luna was gone, panic struck.

"Where's Luna?!" Kairo's heart raced as they ran through the alleys.

Meanwhile, deep in a narrow street, Luna sat tied up, surrounded by the three "merchants." One smirked, brushing dust off his coat. "This one's going to sell for a fortune."

But before they could take another step, the air around Luna shifted. A heavy pressure filled the alley, her orange eyes glowing faintly.

"I told you," she said in a cold, terrifying tone, "we were going to the beach today. Don't ruin it."

A wave of mana surged from her, chilling the men to their bones. Just then, Kairo and Rinn arrived.

"Luna!"

The moment she saw them, the divine glow vanished, replaced by her usual innocent expression. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Big bro! They tried to sell me!" she cried, running to him.

"W-what?! Those—"

Before Kairo could finish, she added tearfully, "If I ever have to marry someone ugly like them, I'd rather marry you, big bro!"

Rinn froze. The bandits froze. Kairo's face turned crimson.

"W-Wait, what?!"

"You perv," Rinn muttered, summoning a fireball in his hand. "Let's just end this already."

A fiery blast sent the bandits flying down the alley. As the smoke cleared, Luna clung to Kairo, still pouting adorably.

Rinn crossed his arms. "I'm the one who saved you, you know."

Luna looked at him with a sly smirk, winking. "Then next time, maybe I'll hug you too."

Rinn's face went red instantly. "I-I didn't mean that!"

Kairo laughed quietly, patting her head. "I'm just glad you're safe."

By the time they reached the beach, the sun was high, glittering over the waves. The ocean breeze carried the scent of salt and adventure.

Luna spun around happily. "It's beautiful!"

Kairo smiled, setting their bags down. "Come on, let's get changed."

After changing, Luna ran straight into the water, splashing and laughing. Kairo followed her, rolling up his sleeves. "Hey, don't go too far!"

"Big bro, you're so slow!" she teased.

Meanwhile, Rinn lounged under an umbrella, pretending to be uninterested while clearly watching the girls playing nearby.

Kairo glared at him. "Pervert."

"You're one to talk!" Rinn shouted back.

The afternoon passed in laughter, water fights, and warm sunshine. When the sun began to set, Rinn returned from a nearby shop carrying a bundle.

"What's that?" Kairo asked.

Rinn smirked. "Fireworks. We can't end the day without them."

As the night sky deepened, colorful sparks lit up the beach, reflecting on their faces. Luna clapped her hands in awe, her eyes glowing orange under the lights.

"It's so pretty…" she whispered.

Kairo smiled. "Yeah. It really is."

On their way home, they bought groceries, laughing about the day. Later, they cooked dinner together—burnt food, teasing, and laughter filling the air. Luna hummed softly as she stirred a pot while Kairo and Rinn argued about seasoning.

That night, as they finally settled down, Kairo looked at Luna and Rinn. Despite all the chaos, this felt… right.

His small, mismatched family.

But the next morning, everything changed.

The air was strangely heavy. Clouds rolled in, darker than storm clouds. Rinn stepped outside, frowning. "What's with this weather?"

Luna hugged herself. "Is it going to rain?"

Kairo shook his head. "No… it feels different."

Then the ground trembled. The sky split open with a deafening roar as a massive blue dragon soared above the kingdom, its wings creating a hurricane of wind.

People screamed and fled as the dragon circled, descending toward the central plaza—right above the statue of the kingdom's god.

Knights rushed in, weapons drawn. Kairo, Rinn, and Luna ran to the scene, hearts pounding.

The dragon landed with a thunderous crash, its eyes burning with cold fury.

And then, it spoke.

"humans, the desroyer gods of the realms."

The city fell into silent.
