Chapter 97 - “Miss Tang” Hurts More Than a Slap

Guilt twisted deep in my chest.

"I'm… I'm sorry," I whispered, my voice barely holding together. "Sisi… I'm...."

She cut me off, not loudly, not angrily. 

"Why are you apologizing to me, Miss Tang?" she asked with a faint, polite smile that felt more painful than a slap. "I'm only your agent. I have no right to interfere in your personal life. What you do, who you marry, who you love, that has nothing to do with me."

Miss Tang.

Not Xiyu.

Not even Tang Xiyu.

Just… Miss Tang.

That single title stabbed straight into my heart.

"Sisi," I blurted desperately, my hand shooting forward to grab her wrist before she could emotionally walk any further away from me. "Please don't talk like that. Please don't treat me like a stranger."

Her brows twitched ever so slightly, but she didn't pull away.
