I wasn't going to leave her there, drunk and vulnerable. Not for a vampire to prey on her, and definitely not for Raven to take advantage of her—no matter what she claimed. Sure, Raven said they didn't have that kind of relationship, but hell, I wasn't taking any chances. Raven—her kisses, whatever the hell that meant—wasn't going to get near her tonight. Not when she was like this.
Call me petty, but I didn't give a fuck. I was the one who had been protecting her all these years. I was the one who had to watch over her, even if she didn't understand why. This was a problem she'd never have to face if I was around. No one was going to lay a finger on her except me.
