Xavier's POV:
You'd think that after our little rendezvous this morning, my relationship with Alex would've improved. Spoiler alert: It didn't. If anything, it got worse. The tension between us felt heavier than before, like something was cracked but not fully broken. And now, I was stuck trying to figure out exactly where things went wrong.
Anyone would have after what happened this morning—after that heated, playful chase—things between Alex and me would have shifted.
Improved, maybe.
At the very least… softened.
That wasn't the case.
She left me standing there like I meant nothing, like what happened between us hadn't shaken her the way it did me. No explanation. No glance back. Just gone.
And somehow, that stung more than her usual sharp tongue.
I ended up finding my own clothes, muttering under my breath like an idiot . The whole time, my mind wouldn't shut up.
If anything, things got worse.
Way worse.
Not about class.
Not about anything important.
Just her.
