Chapter 86 - Chapter 86 — “The Unity Era”

From space, Earth glowed with luminous networks connecting continents like veins of light. Narration boxes flickered across the image: "Every time war began—" …"—it ended instantly." Humanity had no choice but to unite.

Soldiers charged, weapons drawn—but froze, faces twisted in confusion. Missile launch screens blinked "ERROR." A general dropped his radio, sweat dripping down his face. The weapons themselves refused their masters.

The World Government Assembly Hall stood massive, banners displaying a globe symbol. Scientists spoke from podiums under blinding lights. Outside, protesters shouted, "No more shadows!" Transparency became law. Suspicion—punishable.

Lacolone's cloak fluttered as he stood before a cheering crowd. Faces in the audience reflected every race, every age—united. His determined eyes glimmered under the sun. At the heart of it all—stood Lacolone.

Children played in a lush courtyard, sticks for swords, cloth as capes. "We are the HEROES OF JUSTICE!" one shouted. Another dramatically fell. "Nooo! I've been struck down!" Maya and Lacolone watched from a balcony, smiling warmly.

A flashback began: the drum struck, DOOM DOOM, echoing in time. Maya shimmered in Algerian bridal attire, henna glowing on her hands. Lacolone bowed his head slightly, dressed in traditional garments. Unity began not with politics, but with love.

The wedding procession flowed through streets alive with lights and flowers. Guests clapped, women ululated. Maya smiled shyly. Their hands clasped in a close-up, every detail rendered in intricate care.

Comic relief arrived at Jessica and Valgor's wedding. Valgor stiff in ceremonial armor, Jessica radiant beside him. "You may now kiss the bride," the officiant announced. Jessica leaned forward, but Valgor remained frowning. "In my world, we do not kiss in front of strangers." A pause—and then the hall erupted in laughter. Jessica smirked, whispering, "You'll learn."

Back in the present, stars shone outside Unity Hall. Lacolone and Maya watched their children play below. His gaze was calm, yet serious. Peace had become air itself.

A cloaked messenger hurried down marble corridors, guards stepping aside nervously. He knelt before Lacolone, sweating. "We've found… something."

He held out a black device, glowing faintly. Maya's eyes narrowed in suspicion. Lacolone took it in both hands, his reflection shimmering on the screen.

The device displayed glowing text: "Project Elysium: To awaken what sleeps beneath." Maya gasped. The messenger trembled. "It's… pre-Unity data. Someone hid it." Hidden… even from the Eye.

A flash revealed shadowy scientists in secret labs, silhouettes of tanks, and blurred figures floating inside. A hand shut off a monitor. The panel went completely black with only one word: "Awakening."

Children below laughed and fought imaginary villains. "Justice always wins!" one shouted. Lacolone watched them, troubled. His fist tightened silently.

A single white feather drifted from the night sky. Maya caught sight of it, eyes wide. "…Something is watching us," she whispered. Lacolone's eyes were shadowed, unreadable.

Beneath peace, a glitching projection from the device revealed a massive underground chamber, filled with cables and strange glyphs. In the center, a gigantic cocoon-like structure pulsed faintly with light. A figure lay inside, barely visible. Beneath peace… something waits.
