It's been a week since I left the Valley in the North. The coldest part of the country.
My first day of University will start tomorrow.
My brothers did give me money but just enough to pay for food and a month's rent. After that, I'm on my own. Vale's way of survival and punishing you. So I do need to find a job. They did scold me of signing the lease without verifying and confirming the location of the apartment, specially Sai. "Don't be an impulsive idiot" he said. And I just make face at him, earning a smack in the head.
I am curious as to why did the director came all the way to the North just to invite me in this school? Like do I still need a University? I plan to be just a "keeper" in my town anyway. After a lot of convincing from my brothers and a bit of bribe, I relented. Although I did punch a higher ups guy before coming here, some story for another time. Hence, allowance cut. School fee didn't really matter, it's free they said. I don't have to worry about it. Just that I didn't really wanted to live in the University Dorm. So I rejected that. It honestly felt like a prison when I toured it with them. It felt suffocating. Like back then. I don't want to feel like "that" again. Just thinking about it made me feel I am sinking.
The apartment was cramped, sure. Like you can just spin around and you toured the whole place. But I can breathe here even though….

Selene. What a snorer. If that is even a word.
We did make a rule to make living together viable even though – we are so opposite. So opposite. Like I had less things, less stuff. She had a lot. She had a looot of things. I can cook. She's a disaster. But oh well, that is just one day of living together. Or was it just half-day? She does complain a lot. Though the little pouts she makes - is kind of cute.
I did want to just share the bed. I suggested earlier that we could just cuddle? I mean we do that back in the village. Purely innocent though. So it was not normal after all? I have a lot to learn in other's culture. Luckily the only bigger space here is the cabinet. And I could sit on it. And place my things at the top. Selene's under her bed. Then I remember how she slipped earlier. It was hilarious, I am suppressing my giggle right at this very moment.
I opened my room (the cabinet). And peek at the person who create such sound. Blue haired sprawled in bed, arms and legs are in confusing position, open mouth with a bit of saliva sticking. Ugh. This girl. Though she must be tired. She did say she comes from the South West in the Mountain of Ives. That is far. I heard tales about it, the town of sweet and gold.
I think too much tonight; it might make me late tomorrow. So I count to help me sleep.

"..Soren.. Soren.." a voice called.
"Hmm…." I said groggily.
"Your alarm is loud. It's just 4 am in the morning. Come on, shut it - I can't find the button." She said shaking me. "You said you do wake up early. Don't be a liar now."
"Ughmm… Right right. Sorry. I kept thinking how you slipped under the bed last night and I kept giggling about it.. Loud princess with a blue hair.." I said.
"Heyyyy! Shut it! You're lucky I am still a bit sleepy." She said, lightly punching me. "And why is your voice is so deep in the morning?" She said. "Now, kill your alarm, I'm going back to sleep."
"Sure princess blueberry." I said finally waking up. I stayed up a bit late huh. "Just be sure to wake up before I leave the apartment. We have the same schedule for orientation you know."
"Yes, at 8 am. I had two… no.. fiv-four hours more.." She said. "Now let me sleep!" And she did go back immediately to sleep. I did thought she was a heavy sleeper. I shouldn't judge her too much.
After that fiasco, I change to my workout clothes and stretch a bit. I readied myself for a morning jog before doing footwork drills. Just a light exercise to start the day. I do have this routine since I was 8. Sai and Ken often drag me to train – even though I am a little girl back then.
I leave our red gate, and started my jog on the route I used to come here. With sunrise starting to peek. Not much people during this time, only the merchants who are preparing to open their store are in this route. I kept moving straight then after a block, I went right. Then after the sorcerer's potion store, I turn left. On my way, I saw a black cat and stop with my track. It also had yellow eyes. I petted her. Why are cats so cute. Then proceeded to jog again until I finally saw the Arcana East University. A land of mass decorated by clouds, the sky and the bird, floating in the mass of water. A beautiful scene indeed. There is nothing like this in the North, so I am excited when I passed by it during my commute and decided to take this route when jogging. How does a creator do this kind of stuff? They are really talented. The bridge connecting the school and the city was a rainbow powered by the security's manipulator.
I admire it for a bit, then jog a bit more and return to our apartment. A kind old lady in a red hat that I help crossing and pick up her things gave me bread. I thought of refusing, but I don't really have extra money to spend for food, so I accepted it whole heartedly and thank her. I would share it to Selene, if she do plan to wake up.
When I got back to our apartment, right on cue with 6:00, I quietly did my footwork drills and Selene didn't even move an inch. Bet she is now deep in her sleep. After that sweating, I showered at exactly 6:30, and change. I prepare some breakfast and a warm drink for a light breakfast. Selene is still fast sleep at 7:00 when she is supposed to shower. It's still early, so I let her have her sleep.
I already finished my breakfast, had done my toothbrush and prepare all things I needed for the orientation but Selene is still asleep.
I am contemplating if I should wake her up or not though. On one side, I freaking don't know her, we just met yesterday and she might said, "No, Soren it's not your fucking business if I am late or not."
But…
Sigh..
"Selene." I said as I leaned in near her ear. "Wake the fuck up." I whispered some more. I look around her bed and her phone now keeps on vibrating because she snoozes her alarm.
"Selene."
"Seleeeene.." And what did I expect she did not budge at all.
"Come on Smurf, wake up…" Should I slap her? I thought. No. That's harsh.
I pinched her nose. Her eyebrows furrow. "Eughmmm.." Finally…
"It's fucking 7:30m Selene, you still need to take a shower. Or not if that's your choice. We still have to line up to a nearby teleporter." I said, now a bit frustrated. "I am going to bite you, if you would not wake up."
"Ughhmmmm…No, still 5 minutes." She said then grab and hug me. This girl.
So, I did the most obvious thing. I....bit her in the ear, a bit hard. She made a cute sound, and immediately woke up. A bit confused? She's beet red though. And I stared blankly at her. "Hurry the fuck up." I said, why she still caresses her ears. "Hurry up or I will not hesitate to bite you again."
She kind of turns red, immediately grab her things and went to the bathroom. But then, she peeks at me and shout, "Just because you're pretty and might be into girls, you shouldn't be that kinky in the morning!" And shut the door.
"Huh.. What the…I just wanted to wake you up!" I defended myself. Thinking about it, I just realized "Wait…"
