Chapter 19 - CHAPTER TWENTY: MONSTER IN THE CROSS' MANSION

I shook the thought off. That didn't make any sense to me.

"What are you doing here in my room?" He asked, his brows furrowed in confusion. But they pulled me out of my bizarre thoughts.

"I um...needed help." I responded, quicker than I intended to.

His eyes darted to the laptop by my side and mine to the door. Eden was gone.

"Did you want to use my laptop?" He asked.

I let out a nervous laughter, embarrassed that I had been caught so easily.

"Yeah." I finally responded.

"But I'm sure you have a working phone." He countered, his eyes narrowed in skepticism.

"Dead." I replied.

He eyed me suspiciously before shrugging casually and walking over to me. We were standing so close to each other again. And why the hell did my insides tingle?

"Move." He said, pride dripping from his voice.

My cheeks flushed. I stepped aside while he opened the lid of the laptop, punched a few buttons and then stepped back.
