Guard Commander Drevick, Council Leader Vorik, and Aleigha made their way through the south green, following the militia group to their meeting site.
A man stood in the middle of a small open space. As the groups approached him, they stopped and gathered around him, waiting for him to speak.
"Let's hear a bit of what he has to say before we do anything," Vorik whispered.
"Let us know when to do something," Aleigha whispered back to him.
Devick, Vorik, and Aleigha stepped forward, close enough to hear but far enough that they wouldn't get bumped into.
The male waited for everyone to arrive before he began to speak.
"Our group is getting smaller. Many of us are disappearing. The guards we placed in the prison haven't been seen either. I asked about one of them, and one of the guards told me he hadn't seen him either. He hadn't shown up for his shift. The guard commander had to call in a replacement," the man announced, scanning the crowd as he spoke.
