Chapter 1 - Welcome To Seoul

The airplane wheels screeched against the runway, and my stomach flipped.

Seoul. I was finally here.

Outside the window, the city stretched endlessly—silver buildings, neon lights, and a sky that looked almost painted. I'd dreamed of studying here for years, and now I was actually going to live here. Just an ordinary freshman, far from home.

Dragging my suitcase through the crowd, I couldn't help but smile nervously. I wasn't good at talking to people. I preferred quiet places, books, and games. But I promised myself I'd try to start fresh here—maybe make some friends, maybe actually talk to someone this semester.

My new dorm was a tall white building near the university's main gate. Inside, everything smelled like new paint and instant noodles. I found my room—Room 507—and pushed open the door.

Two beds, two desks, one small window. Empty for now. My roommate hadn't arrived yet.

I dropped my bags, sat on the edge of the bed, and sighed. "Well, Rin," I muttered to myself. "New city. New life. Don't mess it up."

Then, my phone vibrated.

[System Initialization Complete.]

[Congratulations, User Rin Hayashi. You have unlocked: Infinite Money System.]

I blinked. "…Huh?"

The words floated in midair—like holograms—right above my phone screen.

[Balance: ₩∞]

I laughed. "Okay, who's pranking me? Did I install some weird AR app?"

[No prank detected, Rin.]

[Hello! I am your Infinite System Assistant. You may call me—hmm—Nova. Sounds cool, right?]

The voice was soft, kind of cheerful, echoing in my head.

"Wait. You can talk?"

[Of course. You've been chosen, after all. Go ahead. Try it. Buy something.]

"…Buy something?"

I looked at my wallet. Only a few bills left. Still, I opened a food delivery app and ordered a pizza. A big one. With extra cheese.

The payment went through instantly. No card used. No account linked.

My phone chimed.

[Purchase complete. Funds deducted: ₩12,000 → Balance: ∞]

I froze. "No way."

Five minutes later, the delivery guy knocked on my door, smiling. "Large pizza for Hayashi Rin?"

I stared at the steaming box in his hands. "Y-yeah."

He handed it over. I handed him a tip—₩100,000, just to test.

"Whoa! Uh—thank you!" he said, bowing repeatedly before running off.

I closed the door and leaned against it, heart pounding.

The System's voice hummed softly.

[Told you it works. Infinite means infinite, Rin.]

My hands trembled as I opened the box. "So… I can buy anything?"

[Anything.]

Outside, the evening lights of Seoul glowed like stars. Inside, I took a bite of pizza and laughed quietly.

Maybe this semester wouldn't be so ordinary after all.
