Chapter 7 - Moody Li Qingcheng

"Why do I feel like you're so much more handsome than before? Tell me, is it plastic surgery?"

"Plastic surgery is normal. You don't need to be embarrassed to admit it."

Li Qingcheng looked at Qin Xiaoliu, who was frozen in place, and said playfully.

"Boss, I really didn't go for plastic surgery. I've always looked like this. You just never paid enough attention before."

 Qin Xiaoliu replied, speechless.

 "Oh, really?"

"Let's do it later. You go handle your work first."

Li Qingcheng's expression changed instantly. She said seriously,

"Yes, boss. I promise to complete the task."

 Qin Xiaoliu answered straightforwardly.

He couldn't help sighing inwardly. This woman's expressions really changed too fast.

 Can't learn, can't learn.

 "Well, go ahead."

 Li Qingcheng spoke lightly.

 "Yes, boss."

After speaking, Qin Xiaoliu slowly turned and walked out.

As soon as the door closed, he couldn't help sweating slightly on his forehead.

Fortunately, he was familiar with the plot, and the boss hadn't noticed any flaws.

Otherwise, he'd have been dragged into trouble.

He hoped Zhou Yingxue wouldn't miss him—he just wanted to quietly be a follower.

Seeing Qin Xiaoliu emerge, the bodyguards at the ring teased him.

 "Sixth Brother, you weren't beaten!"

"Sixth Brother, how does it feel being alone with the boss? Feels like flying, huh?"

"Don't talk. Look at Sixth Brother's face—it's green."

 "…"

The bodyguards laughed and teased Qin Xiaoliu mercilessly.

For them, besides fighting and training, the greatest entertainment was teasing their brothers.

Qin Xiaoliu's face darkened. These guys really didn't consider how serious it was to watch the show.

He had just escaped disaster, yet here they were mocking him.

 However, his heart was warm.

They joked, but deep down, they genuinely worried the boss would punish him severely.

"Don't worry, it's fine. I just went in for a cup of tea."

"And the Longjing tea brewed by the boss herself is exceptional."

Qin Xiaoliu consciously responded to maintain the right atmosphere.

 "Damn, alright, Brother Six!"

"The tea brewed by the boss herself!"

"Don't say more—when it comes to bragging, I'll serve our Sixth Brother."

"Bragging without blinking an eye—he's steady as an old dog."

 "Hahaha…"

Of course, the bodyguards didn't truly believe it. They thought, If the tea is made by the boss herself, you think you're king?

But his words indicated the boss hadn't punished him severely, so they relaxed.

"Who's bragging? Just now, the boss said…"

Qin Xiaoliu was about to deflate the exaggeration when the door behind him opened.

 His hair stood on end.

"What else did the boss say? Go on—I'm curious too."

Li Qingcheng looked at Qin Xiaoliu and spoke softly.

Qin Xiaoliu trembled slightly, turned stiffly, and forced a bitter smile.

 "Hi, boss."

As he spoke, he tried to glance at the other bodyguards, silently asking for backup.

The bodyguards collectively greeted, "Hello, boss."

Then they gave subtle help to Qin Xiaoliu.

Whoever's foolish would take the blame alone, he thought, ignoring them.

Qin Xiaoliu glanced at them sadly. These unreliable guys…

He turned back to Li Qingcheng with a flattering expression.

"Boss, why do you always appear out of nowhere?"

"If you have something to say, just say it."

"Even if I go up the mountains and down the seas of fire, I, Qin Xiaoliu, have nothing to say."

Li Qingcheng smiled softly, observing him tenderly.

Qin Xiaoliu forced a smile in return, but his face twitched slightly, his heart racing.

He'd never seen the boss smile so gently.

 So alluring… yet so terrifying.

"Liu, why is your face twitching? Are you scared?"

Li Qingcheng's gaze was filled with mock grievance, her eyes almost sparkling with humor.

Qin Xiaoliu froze, staring in disbelief.

"Why are you so scary?" he begged silently.

"You're as beautiful as a fairy—dignified, virtuous, gentle, knowledgeable."

"Whatever punishment you have, just say it directly."

 "You make my heart race."

"I swear, having such a tiny heart isn't good. You'll give me a heart attack."

The bodyguards silently gave thumbs up at Qin Xiaoliu's words.

No wonder he doesn't get promoted—he speaks so smoothly.

 "Pfft~"

 Li Qingcheng chuckled.

Qin Xiaoliu felt a little insane seeing her like this. He thought, The boss really is beautiful…

He quickly scolded himself, retracting his gaze and praying she hadn't noticed.

Li Qingcheng's cheeks reddened slightly as she caught his glance.

Why didn't I notice this kid's charm before? she thought.

She adjusted quickly, adopting a serious gaze.

"Alright, go handle it for me."

"And you, I assume you've been busy all day."

"If no one earns enough today, no one eats."

Then she turned sharply to the bodyguards in the ring.

The bodyguards muttered in their hearts. Clearly, Sixth Brother caused the trouble—so why should we take the blame?

They glared at Qin Xiaoliu like scornful women in a boudoir.

He chose to ignore them. Who told you to play with your brother at the wrong time?

"Then, boss, should I go first?"

 Qin Xiaoliu asked carefully.

Honestly, he was terrified of Li Qingcheng, this moody woman.

Staying longer, he worried he might actually have a heart attack.

"What? Still want to stay and drink Longjing?"

 Li Qingcheng squinted at him.

Hearing this, Qin Xiaoliu panicked again.

As the saying goes, it's best to retreat when facing overwhelming force.

He quickly turned and bolted toward the door.

I hate having only two legs. Otherwise, I'd go supersonic!

 "Pfft~"

Li Qingcheng chuckled again at Qin Xiaoliu's retreat.

Do you think I'm that scary?

But she realized she hadn't noticed before—this kid was quite amusing.

Li Qingcheng herself didn't realize her feelings toward Qin Xiaoliu were starting to shift.
