Chapter 71 - Then Let's Get The Marriage Certificate First

The rest of the drive was completely silent.

Norman didn't say another word to her, like he was purposely giving her space to get her thoughts together.

But the quieter it got, the more Kelsey's mind raced.

She stared out the window, watching the streetlights blur into one long, glowing line.

Her future felt just as hazy, a narrow path she couldn't see down, with a past too painful to look back on.

She closed her eyes, but it was no use. She couldn't think straight, but she couldn't find peace in the confusion either.

It was only when the car rolled to a stop that she snapped back to reality. They were at her apartment.

She unbuckled her seatbelt, her hand moving to the door handle.

"Wait." Norman's voice cut through the quiet.

Kelsey froze and looked at him.

Meeting her guarded eyes, his gaze softened.
