Chapter 3 - A second chance

*Chapter 2: A Second Chance*

Derin stood before Aslavak, his determination burning brighter than ever. He knew he had to protect the people he cared about and save humanity. With a deep breath, Derin activated the rare material that would allow him to return to the past.

Time seemed to pause, and a god-like figure appeared before him. "Why do you wish to return to the past?" the figure asked.

"I want to prevent the apocalypse and protect my loved ones," Derin replied, his voice firm.

The god-like figure nodded, and Derin felt himself being pulled back in time. When he opened his eyes, he found himself back in his 16-year-old body.

Derin took a deep breath, feeling a mix of emotions. He was excited to relive this part of his life, but he was also aware of the challenges that lay ahead.

He knew he had to be careful not to reveal his true nature. He would have to navigate his past life and relationships with caution, all while working to develop his abilities and prepare for the impending apocalypse.

As Derin walked through the familiar streets of his hometown, he felt a sense of nostalgia wash over him. He was back in his old life, but with the knowledge and experience of his previous life.

Derin's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his phone buzzing. He pulled it out and saw a text from Alex. "Hey, man, want to meet up at the park?"

Derin smiled, feeling a sense of normalcy wash over him. For a moment, he forgot about the apocalypse and the demon lord. He was just a teenager, hanging out with his friends.

"Yeah, I'll be there," Derin replied, his fingers typing out the message.

As he walked to the park, Derin felt a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could do this. Maybe he could change the future and save the world.

When Derin arrived at the park, Alex was already there, playing a game on his phone. "Hey, dude, what's up?" Alex asked, looking up with a smile.

Derin sat down next to him, feeling a sense of familiarity. "Not much, just got a text from you," Derin replied, trying to act normal.

As they chatted, Derin couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that his life was about to change in ways he couldn't even imagine. But for now, he was determined to enjoy this moment, and make the most of his second chance.
