Chapter 15 - Zero Hour

( Heavens Arrives ": )

The next day, everyone woke up to another terrifying piece of news in the city. Another girl had gone missing, and the news spread across the entire city.

"We thought things were settling down, but now it's happening again," one police officer said to another.

"I thought so too..."

"How are these kidnappings happening without any evidence? No evidence at all, and no one saw or heard anything," he said, looking around.

"But, within two days, a body will be found somewhere. This is a disgrace for us as police officers."

"What's the point of talking about it? The criminal is smarter than us." The two of them walked away from the scene.

After they had left, a person stepped out from the side of the waste bin near the crime spot.

It was a person dressed in black, wearing a black cap that obscured their face. He stood watching the direction the police officers had gone. A smile spread across his lips, and he turned and walked away into the distance.

At the station, discussions about the recent missing persons case were ongoing. The police officers were under severe pressure from the higher-ups.

A man walked into the station. As he stepped inside, he looked at each officer, but none of them paid him any attention. Everyone was busy with their own work. The man walked straight up to an officer sitting right in front of him.

"Excuse me, Sir!" he said very calmly. But the officer did not look at him. He tried to speak to the officer again.

"Excuse me, Sir!"

However, the officer completely ignored him and continued with his work.

Suddenly, the Chief Police Officer of the station came out. The moment he stepped out, he began to inform all the officers about something; there was a visible sense of urgency on his face.

"Everyone, get ready quickly! Arrange all the files for the missing cases the exact dates, evidence in proper order. It's very important," he urgently instructed everyone to act fast.

"Sir, what happened, Sir? Is someone coming from above?" one of the officers asked him.

"Yes," he replied.

"Who is it, Sir?"

"A key Detective has been assigned from the top to further investigate the missing cases, and we have received notice that he will arrive today," he said anxiously.

"Why are you so tense about that, Sir? Is theperson coming that serious?" another officer asked, confused.

"Yes, the person arriving is the most brilliant Detective this city has ever known. He has never backed down from a case without solving it. They are sending him now to investigate these missing cases happening in our city," he said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"Such a famous Detective... Who is it?"

"Sunny Heavens," he stated.

"Now we have to go and bring him here. Idon't know where he is, and he doesn't know the station," the officer said, getting ready to leave with another officer, when suddenly

"You don't have to trouble yourselves for me, Sir." A voice was heard from behind the group of police officers. They all turned in unison. He was standing right behind them: the stranger who had walked into the station.

The man slowly removed the cap from his head: a pale, white face; eyes with a slight spread of blue color; long, black and brown hair falling over his face; and a small, glittering stud in his ear. He looked at everyone and gave a small smile.

He wasn't very young, but he looked youthful. It was him the one who had come to unravel the secrets of the city's unsolved mysteries:" Sunny Heavens."

Sunny slowly walked through them toward the front. The Chief Officer saw him and went over to him.

"You don't have to trouble yourself so much for me, Mr. Inspector Ben," Sunny said with a smile to the officer who was standing in shock.

"Mr. Heavens... You... Without warning... If you had told us, we would have sent a vehicle from here."

"Are the vehicles here for receiving guests, Inspector? Aren't the vehicles here meant for you to reach the crime scene quickly?" Sunny said, putting his cap back on.

"Sorry, Sir," he apologized.

"I am Sunny... Detective Sunny Heavens. I might be a new face to you all, but from now on, I will be with you. Searching for the source of these unsolved secrets," Sunny introduced himself.

"I already know a little about the case, but it's not enough... I need to know more. So, you must give me all the files related to it," he told the officers in front of him.

"We will hand them over as soon as possible, Sir," they replied.

"Hey... no rush. Tomorrow or the day after is fine. From now on, I am here, and we have time... No need for haste. We will unravel all the secrets," Sunny said with a smile, as if he was hiding a secret....
